Your show does look good, interesting comments on the PP. I was not able to see much of the Canadiens games, or highlights, but am thinking they are slowly rounding a corner and are moving up the NHL ranks. Thanks for the content.
It's not Laine making the difference 5 on 5 that line in only marginally better as he gets stronger. it's the 4th and 3rd lines pushing the play that is making the biggest difference for the Habs
@@jpheininen6465 laine has been very bad 5v5. His puck touches are not there and neither are his legs. his fancy stats are abysmal, worse than the other punching bags on the team.
@@spiderjerusalem6887 Laine has said himself that his legs are not there yet. When you have missed basically a whole year of hockey, you are not going to be up to speed in a couple of weeks. Stamina and game shape are formed over time. Also, people love to ignore the fact that Dach has been centering Laine ever since he came back and we know how much Dach has been struggling. When Evans centered Laine and Newhook for one shift, you could immediately tell the difference.
Habs have shown they can beat weaker teams, so we shouldn't be surprised they won three in a row since their games was against weaker teams. Having said that, the Laine phenomenon along with the Carrier stabilizing effect on the D core leads me to believe their compete level will be better against stronger teams from now on. The upcoming schedule against stronger teams will be a big test to see if they are poised to truly get back 'in the mix'. On a different note, I still hold fast that not signing Evans would be a huge mistake - he's been outstanding of late. Owen Beck will not be able to fill his shoes for a few years, despite how impressive his game has been. Recall, Evans had Plekanek as a shining shutdown role example in his early years; Beck will need this as well IMHO. Evans can easily be traded midway through his contract when Beck is ready.
A few media members seem to think that Mailloux will be called up in January, maybe at the trade deadline, and i think that was the plan but i would not be surprised that the plan may have changed. Mailloux has not been that good defensively and is not producing a ton in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Adam Engstrom was moved to the right, his off-side, and he is playing better at both ends of the ice.
Its concerning that 8 goals of the 15 they scored are by Laine, take away those goals and they only score 7. Still much work to do. But hey enjoy the ride.
Lets see how the next 6 road games wil turn out...On paper, Montreal does not appear to be any better than Detroit which appears to need for a coach change badly. Stevie Y might even lose his job at the end of the season if things aren't getting better !!! To answer Shaun's question: rebuiding while winning...is like having your cake and eating it too. !!!
Good weekend but next week will be the litmus test against contenders. Habs are still pretenders. Laine brings excitement, team seems to be engaged, and Carrier has impacted, adding maturity to the D. Time will tell....but it still be an up and down season.

Thanks so much, man, really appreciate the support!

Are you suggesting that Laine has not made a difference at all or just not 5 on 5?Take Laine off and Canadiens are bad again!
Depth guys have been solid all year. Like to see Heineman play up the lineup a bit this week👊🏻

They’re looking a lot more together 👊🏻
Gotta hand it to Gallo. The guy knows his stuff.

Can't wait!
Go habs go...drop out of top 10 draft picks😅
👊🏻
No we want Misa we have no players lol
Demidov baby. Fowler. Let’s go👊🏻
On a run against bottom feeder teams lol wait till there back from the long road trip in last place again. All good
But they were a bottom feeder when this run started. They won 5 games through 16. It’s not like they’re the second wild card feasting on bad teams.
