    Remember these going into service, and the strange sounds they made after the old English Electric EPBs and HAPs went. I think I'm right in recalling that they had Rheostatic brakes, and could, in theory, use Regen as well. Sadly the Brush equipment wasn't as reliable as hoped, no doubt helped along by the nasty Connex and subsequent privateering pirates !

      The people at Southeastern are demons who only care about the uncomfortable, packed, dull and boring 395, The 375 is look after... Sort of... But still has issues like the fire at Charing Cross, but the Networkers should move on to another operator that isn't owned by Govia

    If you play the acceleration sound backwards it sounds exactly the same as deacceleration

    Plans were drawn up in 2007 to improve the reliability of the BREL and ABB units. (Class 465/0 & /1's) By the installation of the new traction equipment. The new package was developed by Hitachi Rail. It was retrofitted all across 97 Class 465 /0 & /1 trains over the course of 2009/2010. The supplier/manufacturer of the original traction equipment, worked as a consulants to assist in the retro-fitting the new equipment.

      Yeah the motors were the same, some part of me thinks aside from the thyristor, the traction system should have been modified greater to aid in constant acceleration, the brush motors or systems of the BREL/ABB 465s can't maintain acceleration for some reason. The metro cammels are superb at maintaining acceleration to the point where it makes you question what within the system limited the /1s And 0s..is it the motor itself ? Or some other component...the auxiliary converters? Who knows.
      It's also good to not that metro canmel 464s have two carriages with auxiliary converters or at least that what i think its called , I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the acceleration efficiency as I know auxillary converters sort of help distribute power accross the unit.

      @@ashleyjiscool I liked them to be fair. But an improvement to the sound would be if they sounded like the copenhagen metro.

    Imagine how awesome it would sound if you had a Brush Traction unit coupled to a Metro Cammell unit

    I wish the trains still had yellow doors, if your train had yellow doors you can tell it was the deeeeee, doo, dooo, doo, dooo rather than the single pitch at the beginning of the video. Now all 465's have blue doors which there is no way to tell in advance.

      Nowadays to tell which is which without looking at the front number, the class 465/9 and 2 metro camel trains have a ac looking thing on the top of the cab front . Also they have taller doors and the orange stripe on the side of the train Is slightly higher than the Hitachi 465/0 and 1s .

    Was it also used on Class 365 Networkers used on First Capital Connect/GTR Great Northern or just on Southeastern.

    • @ellwill5709
      @ellwill5709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just on Southeastern, 365s were all Met Cam built units

    • @lewisculverwellvlogs9789
      @lewisculverwellvlogs9789 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Class 365 were a mixture of Met Cam and ABB/BREL units a cross between Met Cam and ABB/BREL because they look like the Class 465/0s/1s but the tracton motors on the Class 365s sounds a bit like the Class 465/2s/9s and the Class 466s
