I love the 465's......... IF THEY ARE IN THE HITACHI MOTOR OPTION
Plans were drawn up in 2007 to improve the reliability of the BREL and ABB units. (Class 465/0 & /1's) By the installation of the new traction equipment. The new package was developed by Hitachi Rail. It was retrofitted all across 97 Class 465 /0 & /1 trains over the course of 2009/2010. The supplier/manufacturer of the original traction equipment, worked as a consulants to assist in the retro-fitting the new equipment.

I love the 465s so much! I have vertigo and the 465s are the only trains which align properly with the platform so there isn't a big gap or a big step up. I expect this is because they were made by British Rail Engineering Limited for our own platforms, and not by foreign companies like the newer trains. The 376s are horrible, and Thameslink trains even worse for the gap. I hope we keep some 465s for as long as possible. I love the sound of the motor too!

If some of the sources I've ran into are correct, then In theory the class 465 metro cammels could be uprated to 100mph if they were geared that way and not with much difficulty I'd assume (maybe traction efficiency would have to be upgraded a bit for optimum acceleration too) anywho, Each motor is supposedly capable of 280kw according to Angel trains, that's a ton of power per unit. And more than enough to power an average 100mph capable unit in general.
That's around 1840kw per unit if the total power is being used , But the unit in reality actually only uses around 1200kw (because of third rail) so if that is correct , then only 150kw per motor is being used, which is just over half of each motors total power. (,they have 8 motors per 4 car unit)
The point is, maybe uprating their max speed wouldnt break the motors . But it may break the train without appropriate mods. I.e using lateral dampers and more secure parts being added to the unit? Who knows tbh maybe it doesent need major changes. It would be cool to see regardless

Aah the memories, these trains (sometimes in combo with 466s) have been serving my local area for decades - the twilight years of the British Rail era as Network SouthEast (though I was not alive for this) all throughout the Connex South Eastern, South Eastern Trains and Southeastern (Govia and then DfT) eras, up to the present day. They're used for stopping commuter services, in my case from my local station out to Sevenoaks or up to Charing X/Cannon Street. (Southeastern reserves the faster, more modern and plush 375s for speedier services to and from deeper within Kent; another local station near me provides access to these.)
Fond memories of going to school, heading up to London as a kid (and now, for that matter) and that sense of wonder of getting to see the wide wide world and having a fun day out. Newer, better trains will replace them over time and that's good, but I definitely will miss these white, boxy, blobby things, the noises they make, their pleasant if somewhat cramped interiors, the way the announcements sound... I'm glad the memory of them is being preserved. I really appreciate fellow transport/infrastructure nerds like I taking the effort to do so. Transport doesn't just move people around, it facilitates wonderful memories being made.

That's because some 365s were originally 465s, they were just based on a modified variant of the 465 and converted to go 100mph and have overhead wires as a power source. Their motors arent actually the same, I did a little research, but their motors were built by the same company hence why they have similar noises
