I don’t know why I had an unsettling feeling growing up and watching Nickelodeon shows they always had this vibe that there was amiss and off but couldn’t put a finger onto it. Does anyone recall the show “ the naked brothers band” the title of this short lived series says it all and not to mention that one of their producers was caught in the reality show to catch a predator.

It's disgusting that Dan Schneider was able to get away with his creepy behaviour towards many of the Teen stars of his sitcoms. There's a video of him hugging Miranda Cosgrove from behind on the set of iCarly, during her 18th birthday celebrations, while she looks visibly uncomfortable, in plain view of the rest of the cast and crew.

But, it would've been super wild if Stephen Hillenberg caught wind of what was going on, and put that in, in hopes of it being a warning without being too loud for executives to be suspicious. Apparently there are rumors, that Stephen and Dan had some issues between them. But, unfortunately we may never know, and can only be a stretch at this point. Unless maybe Tom Kenny or someone close to Stephen, knows if Stephen has mentioned Dan's name or complained about him or what. But, I doubt, anything would be said if so.

Doesn't change a thing for me. The way I dissected it, everyone just sounded like they were a bunch of whiners/complainers and jealous. Plus were going the route of it being a race or gender thing (I'm getting tired of everyone just automatically going there and using that in their defense). All the black kids (boys and girls) made it sound like a race thing, but Kenan and Kel's success on Nickelodeon debunks that. Then they said Dan hated women/girls/females. Oh really? He liked Katrina Johnson and turned Amanda Bynes into a star. Plus gave Amanda her own show. Then Katrina sounded like she was jealous and entitled. She felt she deserved to be a star and get her own TV show. Instead Amanda got that. Plus Katrina loved Amanda at first and once Amanda became bigger and got her show, Katrina hated her. And Katrina felt she deserved to be bigger than Amanda because she was there first. The list goes on. So yeah. Nothing has changed for me. I'm not saying I take Dan's side though, but I was noticing other stuff while watching the documentary. Something felt off and like they were being very biased with the whole documentary. They definitely had a narrative/agenda with the documentary. This is also why I avoid documentaries as much as possible. They leave a lot of stuff out and aren't as informative as you think. There is ALWAYS some narrative/agenda and you only get one side.

I use a posture control Kaye walker and a Rovi x3 power wheelchair for mobility. I figured having a small career on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel could help improve my social practice and inclusion. My high school refused to make accommodations for me to take acting classes. My heart was so corrupted by my own greed and envy It never occurred to me that the people who made me laugh in my favorite TV shows were hiding their pain in their eyes, and the sadness behind their smiles. I want to recover from my trauma. My ex-girlfriend's mom blocked me from being in the same classes at school as her daughter for five years because dating rumors were getting out of control. Now I understand why my mom and the majority of my family was so hesitant about paying for my classes and my headshots. I'm 29 years old. As someone who grew up with these shows with iCarly being my favorite of the bunch (and still is, though not without knowing what's happened) it really sucks how the biggest shows at the time had such gross undertones behind them. I can't really watch Zoey101 knowing how the entire cast (with the exception of Sean Flynn who played Chase) bullied her, yet Jamie's character Zoey was portrayed as the "saint" to the point of a Mary Sue. It also feels uncomfortable in that her character was portrayed as boy crazy given Dan's views on women. And while I DO find some of the humor on Victorious funny, I also find how sexualized and suggestive the show was with its adult humor, with it being entirely explicit. And while I hate saying this, I can't really look at Drake & Josh anymore given how Josh Peck turned out and knowing of Drake's abuse by the network. It really is disgusting knowing that the ONLY reason Nick fired Dan Schneider, wasn't because of his creepy and abusive behavior, but because his shows post Victorious weren't making THEM money or getting the views. This breaks my heart learning about everything recently. Like, I already knew Schneider as a creep with a foot obsession. But the Nickelodeon rabbit hole goes so much more deeper.
I feel betrayed. My favorite show up until the time I was 12 or 13 was SpongeBob, then after that for a few months The Loud House before I phased out of both shows for good, and having a lot of Nick shows being a huge part of my life it feels like a huge betrayal. I prefer to separate the art from the artist because of situations like this, but I don't know if I can keep watching any of the 3 or 4 Nick shows I still find interest in (those being iCarly, Avatar, and kind of Jimmy Neutron. I also want to check Invader Zim since I never saw that one).

Out of curiosity, I went to check out some of the Zoey 101, iCarly and Victorious episodes and I found them weird af. I guess I understand why now….

Not that it's a contest but if i had to pick which kid had the worst experience it hands down has to be Drake Bell. What he went through was absolutely unspeakable.

I was in Drake Bells band for 2~ years. I was on set at the Amanda show many many times. Amanda would always vanish immediately after doing the takes and I remember her always seeming upset. Once I was wandering around back stage and I saw her in a very dark room crying alone. I never forgot that. I felt like I didn't understand some thing dark about her life. This was right after filming where she looked happy etc on the set. Also another time I was a T Building with Drake and a few other kids and we were just chillen by ourselves and one of the kids cracked a joke about Amanda having an abortion. It wasn't a dig at her it was like a dark overtone sarcastic crack. I was like "Wait what does that mean?" and they all collectively kind of moved in rapidly to shut me out of that conv. I remember it because I felt like an outsider somehow but ya know Drake and I hung out every day. So I felt a little weird. Most of the stuff I saw was alright and everyone was chill on set and everything. But given how Amanda would act off set, I would 100% believe her if she said someone did something terrible to her there. You had to see it.

I don't have anything against Nickelodeon as a channel. I still like their shows (their good ones, of course), and some of their movies. And i don't intend to quit from Paramount+.
However, that being said, what i despise about Nickelodeon are some of the people who run it. I feel sorry for all of the actors and actresses who had a bad time working there. And if i was Nickelodeon's CEO, i would make sure that Schneider would never again work in the industry. The same for that Brian Peck guy. They would be in jail. Both of them.
I just hope this people will be not necessarily arrested but at least banned from working in Nickelodeon, and the channel will have better people on it, and better working conditions for the actors.
