I saw them way back in the mid-80s at UBC in Vancouver, Canada. A great goth-rock band. Einstürzende Neubauten opened for them.

The Queen of Punk and Goth,the adorable Susan Janet Ballion,I Got into a lot of trouble bunking off school to go to her Gig back in 1978 and coming back ever so slightly boozed up.
This song samples the beat from Schoolly-D's 1985 Hip-Hop classic 'P.S.K. (What Does It Mean?) which is considered the first "gangsta rap" record... This was definitely a favorite of mine when it dropped on MTV.
Nope. It was the use of a factory-included beat from a drum machine - the same one that Schoolly-D used - it was not sampled.
I remember this song!

A pity, The Rapture is a very good album (their final album of course). I agree Superstition is quite atypical and very 'pop-y' but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt over it...
