      How is your comment 2 days old when this video is only 13 minutes old?

    • @Magmafrost13
      @Magmafrost13 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tazz jiggler This is something that keeps happening, and I can't find any information on why. My best guess is that the video is uploaded before its made public, but people find ways in anyway, or the video is accidentally very briefly public.
      Yo August, the fuck did you do?

    • @Dosman0026
      @Dosman0026 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow it's impressive how you don't even ask for donations! I think you also don't get too much money out of your videos on youtube yet, which hopefully will change soon.
    Very nice work so far! :) You've earned my respect!
    Edit:
    If you ever think about starting a whole new project, I would appreciate some kind of astromech droid invented by you that actually has some really useful functions to kind of help you in daily life! That would be so cool!

    Remember the lead shot you put in there? i think its rattling around and its quite noticeable, just a suggestion you could fill the empty space in the shot container with generic grease or petroleum jelly it would quiet the whole thing down quite a bit.

  • @williamhayden7711
    @williamhayden7711 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it's brilliant. The main drawback of this design is the inability to drive in an arch or turn while moving. Looking forward to V3 as you've mentioned these aforementioned limitations would be targeted for elimination.

  • @OdinsFerrari2178
    @OdinsFerrari2178 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've really enjoyed your series on the BB8. Thanks for sharing the code and parts list. I like this design as opposed to the hamster type versions (I haven't been to an event with R2/droids yet where I didn't need to work on something.) I think having access to the interior is critical. I am very interested in seeing what you change in version 3. After spending a few grand and a few months prototyping my R2 fiberglass domes, I'm just not interested in doing any prototyping for BB myself. So I'm going to be lazy and leave the heavy lifting to guys like you and then build my BB. Thanks for all the hard work it is appreciated.

    Just a suggestion . . for grins and giggles, program a little "wolf whistle" sound. That way you can pull off a gag like BB 8 rolls up to a pretty lady or a handsome gentle man. Circles around her/him and does a cute little flirty wolf whistle . I know I'd certainly get a kick out of it!

    Congratulations on the award for the 3D printing. The BB-8 really works well. The projectors now are small enough that you could actually install one into the next BB-8 build. That would blow everyone's socks off and I don't know anyone else who has a actual functioning projector. Just curious, are you still working on Hulk Buster?

    Any idea of a ballpark figure for all of the components and 3 printed parts for the finished build? It's always fascinating to watch you work, and I often wonder just how much your projects cost, but it's never something I've seen you go into.

    How much can you accomplish with just one arduino uno? I was just looking up how to attach an LCD screen and all the options had a custom one. Could I just take some spare electronic parts on the uno or would they not work?(I don't know much about this stuff)

  • @GameyDave
    @GameyDave 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Superb. Does the head still catch when it runs over the groves of the main body? Could you fill the groves in with some translucent material (resin maybe), then you'd still have the visuals of the groves but it'd be more smooth?

  • @KobeWuyts
    @KobeWuyts 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a particular reason why you went with a flywheel mechanism for this build?
    It's awesome from a physics/purely technical point of view, but it's not exactly what I would choose for maximum control and efficiency.

    Just one thing can you say why the one or two side panels were missing please?
    Take care, I can’t wait to see ver 3 of your amazing machine. Did you find the wind screen motor was ideal or will you be changing it, maybe from a ford to a RR one, LOL?
