Kudos on the design. I'm 40yrs old now & remember what this design resembles! *Instant Cameras such as the Polaroid* were quite popular for a while. They all had that classic *'Pop-up'* feature. Popping it open to expose the camera & printer shoot. *So for clarity. We went from Instant Print to digital cameras. Now,because they could & wanted to,we have 'Instant Draw Cameras'!* Nice job y'all!!!*
Today was my university exam and I had TSP (Travelling Salesman Problem) in my syllabus! I was so hyped when i was studying about it and voila I can see it being used practically kudos man nice content!
What you need to do is... a video! I mean, you need to build a version of the robot that can erase itself, and have it draw each frame, take a photo of the frame, erase, and repeat. It could probably render a 10-minute video in a week.
that would be awesome. sounds like they just need some extra code hooked up to whatever clears it. one that connects to a camera and increase the accuracy and they have it working!
I would love to see a version of this play bad apple. If it had an automatic rest function it would just be beautiful, even if it took an hour I would sit and watch it.
@EveryFlavorRobot it's a music video that is known for being played on lots of displays (and "displays"), similar to DOOM. Just google it and you'll see. I believe you'd need a vibration motor or similar to clear it after each frame to get it to automatically play the video
@@EveryFlavorRobot I posted a comment explaining it but it seems youtube deleted it? Anyways: It’s a music video that is commonly used to demonstrate unusual forms of video playback due to it only using black and white. The video itself has a long and complicated backstory, as it is a video for a fan cover of a game theme from an old Japanese game for the pc98. The video was made in MMD. Just google bad apple, it has a ton of views!

At first, I wasn't sure but your collective enthusiasm, laughter, and determination made me stay for the entire video! You guys rock!! I can't wait to see what else you come up with. Outfitting this Etch-A-Sketch with a camera/computer vision so that it can draw what it sees, would be absolutely killer!! Best of luck to you all! BTW, I had an Etch-A-Sketch in the early 1950s...yes, I'm an old dude but still in love with Tech!! Cheers!
I just refreshed the page a couple hours after I saw this video and was shocked to see the crazy sub count increase Congrats on 12k, you deserve it Edit: 12K?!

You guys are friggin talented. To do this in 2 weeks is absolutely insane, and to make such an entertaining video is the cherry on top. Can't wait to see it in San Fran!
I'm not an engineer. I break everything I try to fix. But even I was wondering why you had the etch a sketch inputs at such a wildly fast speed! Great video, I'm very impressed. I broke my etch a sketch to see what was inside in 1978!
Omg I swear I had this idea many years back but had no clue how to implement the control mechanisms (not a mech eng at all). I absolutely love this. Ty for making this
Wow man. The production level of this video is superb, I was shocked when I found out you only had 600 subs. Well I'm one now, I feel like I'm getting in on the ground floor of something that's gonna be huge. Good luck guys
You certainly made the first etch-a-sketch rumble pack, high caliber machine gun haptic immersion simulator. I'm surprised this hadn't been done yet, though. I was sure this is the first thing engineers would to with an etch-a-sketch
Love this. I designed something very similar about twelve years ago! I was using a Vellemann IO board and servos to control an Etch-a-sketch, coding in VB6 to draw circles. Always had the plan to hook up a camera, but didn't get that far. Then my son broke the Etch-a-sketch, and that was that :)
This is a seriously impressive video man. Narrative was captured perfectly. I know it's said a lot, but I'm surprised this wasn't made by a bigger creator. Good, good stuff.
Never in my life have the words, "You could upgrade that Etch-A-Sketch with some kevlar fishing line" come to mind until now, and then I got to the part where you did one better.
I didn't realize you only had 11K subs with the quality of the video, I went to see what other videos you had and saw that you made it halfway to 12K in the time it took me to watch the video. I wish you guys good luck, you'll be passing 100K in no time!

Oh 😳 no not the old videos... they are so awk (I'm still learning!) Go easy on me hahaha
-alex
I said "Just use stepper motors and run it like a CNC machine." Before watching the video, and lo and behold.
Great job, I'd love to see a V2 with a bit more time.
Now,because they could & wanted to,we have 'Instant Draw Cameras'!* Nice job y'all!!!*
got whiplash finding u guys only had 600 subs, you've definitely just gained one more!
It could probably render a 10-minute video in a week.
oh boi. trust me. we want this and it frequently surfaces in our meetings >:)

@@EveryFlavorRobot play bad apple on the etch a sketch if you get that working
that would be awesome. sounds like they just need some extra code hooked up to whatever clears it. one that connects to a camera and increase the accuracy and they have it working!
I love the Ale 8 One package on the wall in the background at 11:23. I grew up in KY. It's a local favorite!
I would love to see a version of this play bad apple. If it had an automatic rest function it would just be beautiful, even if it took an hour I would sit and watch it.
wait what is bad apple? enlighten me
-alex
This video was awesome! so glad it showed up in my recommended. The production value was insane, has that Michael Storen feel to it but I have to say - I enjoyed this more!
I do hope you guys get a viral hit soon, it'd be well deserved.
maybe then we could afford some stepper motors 👀 thanks for the support! You can say you knew us before it was cool
@@EveryFlavorRobot Too broke to add financial support but this was sick I'm showing my friends!
@@EveryFlavorRobot Hey looks like this one gave you a big jump of subs =D I'm one of them lmao
I got this feeling I'm about to see a lot more of this channel
when i started watching i thought you had like 1m subs, content has that much quality, shocked when saw it is only 1k. hope more people sees this video and blows up. keep it up!
1M subs is unfathomable to my smol monkey brain so I will not think,
but I will keep making robots go brrr

It now had 27K only 2 days later
Instant subscribe after I seen it drawing in the opening. This is so crazy impressive very reminiscent of when I stumbled on will years ago. A silly concept but an outrageous amount of understanding and effort put into it good for yall.
Congrats on getting into Open Sauce! I hope you get to hang out with lots of other robotics TH-camrs! Great project and great video - it's great to see the progression and how you overcame the engineering problems. Making a video of it all must make it even harder!
thanks! We've been meeting a few through the open sauce discord and I'm already so excited. Its crazy how engineering problems almost naturally follow the story arc people are used to finding in media! Something about being excited to do stuff and then it blowing up in your face idk
-alex
So glad the algorithm did it's thing! You're already at 30k subs and I'm incredibly happy to be one of them!
Can't wait to see your future projects. And congrats bro, you did it!!
I was sub-1000 subs. People won't be able to say that for long. Well done, lads.
Twelve hours later and I'm joining in the 6,500s. Looking forward to the journey!
ur a legend for that 😤
Another day later and we're at almost 18k :)
@@aL3891_ over 18k now
Wow, that's a really good video for a channel that was just 600 subs big, you really deserve the hype!
This is freaking awesome
You’re actually so good at editing and crafting a story
I love your videos! You guys are very under rated for the quality of videos you guys make. I hope you guys the best. God Bless
Cheers!
Absolutely amazing and incredibly underated
I clicked for the idea. Stayed for the result. Subbed for more.
I just refreshed the page a couple hours after I saw this video and was shocked to see the crazy sub count increase
Congrats on 12k, you deserve it
Edit: 12K?!
It's now 27K
@@EmmetCromie The original comment was on 2K 💀I had to edit it up to 12k but I've realized that I just can't keep up.
@@evan_roos4569 Why did you edit it up to12K if you kept the time the same at 2 hours?
Dude the cinematography of this video is amazing! And it's not even the subject! Skilllllss
Really glad I was directed to this video. About to go to college for robotics and it’s cool to see this kind of process. Graduating FRC member. Go team 8808
You guys are friggin talented. To do this in 2 weeks is absolutely insane, and to make such an entertaining video is the cherry on top. Can't wait to see it in San Fran!
What an outstanding project, such a beautiful marriage of software and hardware, you all should be really proud of this.
Really great execution and build process. Makes me wanna build some stuff ❤
I'm not an engineer. I break everything I try to fix. But even I was wondering why you had the etch a sketch inputs at such a wildly fast speed! Great video, I'm very impressed. I broke my etch a sketch to see what was inside in 1978!
GOOD YT ALGORITHM. this is a great video, subbed :)
Congrats on the success of this video guys! This is a big deal and an awesome opportunity, great work and keep making cool content!
Amazing job y'all! This is so freaking cool!
That is flat-out amazing! Well done, all!
Omg I swear I had this idea many years back but had no clue how to implement the control mechanisms (not a mech eng at all). I absolutely love this. Ty for making this
The water bottle analogy made my brain learn something. Good job!
Heck yeah, smashing success 😎😎😎
Okay, this project is really awesome, great solutions! Also, great video!
Wow man.
The production level of this video is superb, I was shocked when I found out you only had 600 subs.
Well I'm one now, I feel like I'm getting in on the ground floor of something that's gonna be huge.
Good luck guys
How is this channel so underrated??? Immediate subscribe
This is suuuuuch a good idea for a video and super well executed!!! Also congrats on getting accepted!
This is a really cool project, and a great video to boot
Well done!
thanks! We worked really hard on it :) Also, nice to see a fellow Alex 😎
You certainly made the first etch-a-sketch rumble pack, high caliber machine gun haptic immersion simulator.
I'm surprised this hadn't been done yet, though. I was sure this is the first thing engineers would to with an etch-a-sketch
You guys are freaking amazing!
I’ve been waiting for someone (smarter than me) to do this for years. Respect.
This is seriously amazing!!! I wish I was going to opensauce if only to see y'all!
Thanks!!! If only it wasn't so far away hahaha
This might be the fastest subscriber growth I’ve ever seen and I don’t see it stopping any time soon
This youtube channel is gonna explode if you guys keep making content like this. This is amazing. I'll remember being the 882th subscriber
well we definitely don't plan on stopping! under 1k legend 😤
i'm a bit scared at how fast its picking up tho
Amazinf video guys, you will make it big! Keep the videos coming!
OHHHH. I thought this was going to be a camera that snapshots an etch-a-sketch. Your idea makes so much more sense.
this is absolutely hallarious i thought yall would have a million subs 😭
That thing is the perfect blend of creative, high-tech and just downright cool. 10/10
This is a seriously impressive video man. Narrative was captured perfectly. I know it's said a lot, but I'm surprised this wasn't made by a bigger creator.
Good, good stuff.
why does everyone expect me to be bigger? i'm 5'9" !
lol jk thanks for the support man

Never in my life have the words, "You could upgrade that Etch-A-Sketch with some kevlar fishing line" come to mind until now, and then I got to the part where you did one better.
Very cool and professional project and video
I didn't realize you only had 11K subs with the quality of the video, I went to see what other videos you had and saw that you made it halfway to 12K in the time it took me to watch the video. I wish you guys good luck, you'll be passing 100K in no time!
