I’m so sorry to hear, wow that sounds horrible So wrong how the government can have a hand in all of that. I remember how happy and excited you were when you first opened up. Wishing luck and greatness to you my friend. Always love hearing from you
That's terrible. Indoor smoking was banned in the UK back in 2007 but cigar stores used a loophole that allowed them to keep lounges open. Cigars are considered a premium luxury product, therefor customers are entitled to sample the products and so cigar shops have "sampling" lounges.
That’s sad & unthinkable, but the only bright side of this mess of regulations is that we are even more encouraged to visit the store in person and meet you & Stan🙏🏻🙌🏻
I myself went there a couple of times when the wife was shopping in Maastricht. She dropped me off and i spent the rest of the day there in the lounge with some good champagne and cigars....And ofcourse the good company of Dirk an Stanley!! It's a shame that such a great place can't be enjoyed anymore...
As someone in the US with no access to Habanos, it's been great to watch your content on Instagram and now TH-cam! Unfortunate to hear about the constricting regulations though. I hope to one day visit LCDH Maastricht!
Just a few months before the new law was passed about the lounge, I visited 2 times. A 2 hour drive but I was keen on seeing the amazing lounge and humidor in person. I was terribly tired when I came back home (after another 2 hour drive and smoking 2 cigars in the lounge). I am glad I did these trips, and I am glad I could try a QD Claro there. I have one question for you: What is your favorite cuban cigar regarding price/quality/availability?
I'm right now in the Netherlands, and I was quite shocked when I found out what had changed since my last vacation here, regarding tobacco products. But I guess this will be the future in Germany too😔
What a shame! I am really enjoying your videos and follow your journey for a number of years, and this really sucks... Hope you find a good niche to shift your business and pivot as much as possible with the heavy regulations
the new tobacco law in the netherlands really sucks but i wonder what all the cigar shops have tried to do against this law, or did they just let it happen?
Sorry to hear that, the Netherlends always seemed more liberal... But, here in Austria, we always lived without onlineshops. We never were allowed to buy cigars online (IN or from outside the country). We always had to look in the eyes of our so called "Trafikanten". And, much more bitter, there is no Casa here in Austria. Just Tabacstores with 95% Cigarettes and 5% Cigars in their storage. Keep your pecker up!
Don't blame the empty shelves on the regulations, it's because of the world wide shortages and the Habanos price increase in 2022. The Almere store now also sells New World Cigars, because Cubans are now way overpriced.
@@AtDutchcigars Good for you, remain to your principles. You can't be a La Casa Del Habano and sell New World, that's why they've changed to: La Tienda de la Esquina.
Very odd. I thought Netherlands was a very progressive laissez-faire country (weed and prostitution basically legal). Too bad they’re after small independent businesses like yours. They’re probably cutting your revenue in at least half…don’t know how the average guy could ever survive in that environment.
It's kind of hilarious. In coffeeshops you are formally not allowed to smoke tobacco. But no-one uses pure weed in their blunts, so yeah.. That. It's unfortunate that there's no differentiation between recreational "luxury" smoking and off the shelf mass tobacco.
I’m so sorry to hear, wow that sounds horrible

Sorry about the government regulations that hit your business. I like watching your content and hope to see more of it. All the best man.
Amazing watch! 👏🏼

That's unfortunate, it's been like that in Ontario Canada for years and it really sucks.
Sorry to hear about the tough times falling on you. Hope things will get better for you soon. Good to see you again 👍
Wow ,one day they will tell us we can’t smoke in our own home or backyard patio …Disgusting

Man that sucks Dirk, always pulling for you and your business! Hopefully I get to walk into the store one day
Glad you’re back, love your videos. Unfortunate news.
Meanwhile in Netherlands - Smoke marijuana in Coffeeshops! No problem!

Sad to hear all this, but very glad thar you create videos again 👍
Sorry to hear my friend. It’s a huge shame that the building and the atmosphere cannot be enjoyed as it should be 😢

Man this is rough... at least I had the chance to enjoy the lounges when they were a thing
Government overreach is becoming a huge problem

Not nice! All the love and support matey

So sad to hear Dirk. Seems the Netherlands are aiming to be like Canada in regards to cigar culture.
Dictator trudeau applauded a Nazi recently as well as praised by Hamas. Wokeness run amok.
It’s unfortunately a reality of the alcohol business as well. I sell wine and the regulations are making it more and more difficult to justify it.
Madness!!
Have you some links to follow Vintage Spirits please?

Man i really don’t get how they could just puch this through
Outrageous!... Can you not move your online business abroad ?, I for one would buy from you !
Is this an EU wide thing or just the Netherlands?
Just the Netherlands 😔
@@Robert-gc5re Netherlands is the test-bed, it might be passed to other EU countries.

I don’t blame that on the government. Selling that is also a option, but not for us.

Absurd. Over regulation is fucking absurd.
this is crazy - it sound like some sort of whacky left wing government but I think this is conservatives doing this awful damage to your business!
sounds like a very controlling, left/liberal gov't ... did you vote for them?
Sad, sad news... But people continue to vote for socialists...
