I am definitely moving into the "easy plants" phase. I have also been moving a lot of my plants into terrariums or domes. It's making it where I don't have to water them as often and it's helping me keep them alive longer 😅
I love how you don't just talk about trendy plants. It's nice to see someone featuring some common plants you can easily find at box stores, as well as unusual ones that you don't see anyone talking about. And flowering plants! They don't get enough attention with all the aroid obsession. You've inspired me to get a kangaroo fern again. I had one years ago. One of the many ferns i couldn't keep alive 😅
Flowers in winter is such a joy. I'm looking forward the Amaryllis to bloom every year. Your Abutilon is so beautiful. Maybe you could do a video with plants that flowers in the dark season 😊🌸
I was gifted a crown of thorns / euphorbia milii by my partners nan and it is so large and i love it sooo much. I just really like the contrast of spikes, green AND delicate blooms. I definitely added some of your plants to my wishlist. I LOVE your kangaroo fern!! Im biased though (australian) 😂 but im about to move into a house with a fern garden and im sooo excited haha. Thanks so much for sharing Harley! Hope you & the fam have an amazing 2024.
I love hearing about your plant journey and the things you’ve learned about yourself along the way. I’m a mental health therapist and I’m starting a course on therapeutic horticulture in the fall. The journey with our plants truly teaches us things and sometimes to reevaluate our priorities. I appreciate your perspective on that and watching you balance momhood with your plants 🫶🏼💚 even if it’s cheesy, I’m here for it 😂❤
I didn’t think I could do ferns either but I put my crocodile fern in a chunky mix in a self watering (terracotta/glass pot) setup and it’s been doing a lot better ever since! Thanks for sharing all your favorites! Such a fun video!
I almost love all the plants you talked about, specially money tree. It's my fave plant too. Everytime I watch one of your contents get so happy how you learn from your plant journey. We all make mistakes or we think we should have all those fancy new plants in the market. I love how plants make you know yourself better. Your little Sansevierias look so cool, have to say you do so well matching plants and planters(Harly The "matcher")😂. Your Abulitan looks so amazing that i bought one after seeing yours. Also i love how you let the kids be in front of camera and do not cut those parts. This is so real like yourlrself. You are so real luv ya
I love your choices and I love that you are back to your real taste. I think many of us had the same curve of loving plants for a long time with our specific and special tastes, then getting into "rare aroids" and filling up our spaces with the trendy ones and now, after the fever is over we are coming back to our true tastes and styles. I used to have so many philodendron a couple of years ago! And now I barely have 2 or 3 because I hace gone back to other genus and plants that I truly love caring for and looking at.
Happy New year, Harli! You look great and your plants look happy! It is so nice that you are giving your love to the blooming plants. Your Monstera albo is doing great! And here comes my question for a future video - how is your Monstera esqueleto doing today? I remember how excited you were when received it from Costa Farms. Do you have a 2024 Wishlist ready?
Having those deep saucers have allowed your plants to be well watered, and have flourished. I think thats been one of your biggest breakthroughs this last year, maybe? My abutilon is outdoors near my pond...same colour in semi shade.. I agree, its a lovely, underated plant. I New Zealand they do well outside.😊
Good varied collection of plants. Want more small plants for those small planters take a look at some of the Gasteria and Hawarthia. Rhipsalis are some of my favorite - although I need to thin that collection out a bit. I have a few I've kept in the greenhouse where they are very dry over the winter with lows in the upper 40s. So they can take some cold. I do like them better and feel they grow better indoors with warmer temperatures and less bright light.
I'm vibing with your thoughts on collecting. I'm definitely over trends and popular, expensive plants and just get what I like now. Blooming plants are big with me right now. I can get inexpensive holiday cacti, orchids, and African violets anytime I go out, and they look great. And I'm also trying to buy only local plants this year instead of having them shipped to me. They're usually cheaper and bigger than whatever more rare rooted cuttings or seedling I'd buy online, and I love getting excited about something I find unexpectedly and bring home. Like the hoya cummingiana on a hoop I found out of the blue today, which was one of the top plants I wanted 😭
Thanks for sharing this with us. Harli, you look great, your makeup, and your shirt is a perfect color for you ❤️ Happy New Year stay happy, laugh 😃 every day, and stay healthy. ❤❤❤
Omg this is my first year bringing in my abutilons! It’s considered an annual in my area, but my favorite outdoor plant. So I thought, let me bring them inside this winter and see how they do. Well I have 3 different varieties and only one is doing okay. I think I haven’t been watering as much as they need. Thanks for giving some care tips because indoors is much different than when it’s outdoors in the summer. 😅 PS: I’m jealous yours is still blooming! 💚
I LOOOOVE Sanseveria! They’re my favorite plants I love collecting them especially the small ones! Just like you I noticed that I no longer want to collect just to collect the cool rare ones I noticed that I feel the happiest with the “basic” ones because they’re so easy to care for and they’re so forgiving including aroids I’ve fallen back in love with pothos! A good ol’ N’joy pothos has been doing it for me lately❤😂
I really love my crown of thorns, the flowers last forever, mine is putting out another round right now still holding on to flowers from months ago. I just found an online seller with lots of different colors im plotting buying one of the fancy spotted flower kinds.
Well u have inspired me to make some planters from one of your pass videos and im purchasing some items now as a early birthday gift for myself im excited.😊
I have the same Casetify case, but for my samsung! 😃❤️ Love the floral cases that look like oil paintings. I have the pink cherry flowers with the light blue background as well 😊
greAt tips about using deeper saucers/containers!! Loved this video! I, too love weird plants. I have the dancing bones cactus but mine is still short and bushy! Also have the Hoya retusa and Rhipsalis paradoxa, Sticks of fire, and a couple of other weird plants!! Love your family and feel like I know you! I Also watch your Mom's you tube videos!!👏🐾🐾❤️
Last year I became enamored with rhipsalis. I now have five different varieties and three on my 2024 plant wishlist. I just think they are so cool looking! Very easy care.
What’s not to love about succulents! All they ask for is light. The slower growth is more rewarding and requires so much less maintenance. Plus so many of them make such beautiful flowers. Totally underrated.
Loved this video and all your favorites! You have taught me so much about using the glass dishes/bowl under pots and you restored my love again for my dancing bones cactus,I had one from years ago and kind of neglected it,until I saw yours in another video,I quickly ran out and dug it up from its horrible old soil and put it on display under grow lights,it is starting to recover! I also learned that lesson last year about collecting plants for the sake of the hype/trend,started to go back to my OG/common plants and really appreciating them more! Happy New Year Harli! 🎉🎉🎉💚🪴 Natalie
All my Hoyas took forever to get started, but there no stopping them now!!! I feel similar about anthuriums, they all look the same to me, not really into them (yet?) I love all the wild and weird ones too
Happy new year!! The first plant you talked about looks like my Japanese latern plant. Mine is outside (uk) never knew it can grow inside. My Spring plant list will be to grab a cutting and see if it will grow inside! Such a pretty flower ❤
I cannot express how thankful I am that you didn't mention anthirium 😂 I've gotten genuine fatigue from them being around so much. Part of why I enjoy your channel because you always and only post about what YOU are interested in
Thanks for the video Harli ! I always wondered what the yellow balls were on my Dancing Bones Cactus too! For some reason they never turn into flowers (or at least i haven't noticed them lol )
I’m loving plants I’ve had a while. I put them on poles and they are really sizing up. My Florida ghost, monsteras and several others ❤ I’m pretty much done buying plants. 200 is just too many…
Hi Harli and Happy New Year to you and your family. I really enjoyed the plants you chose and your Kangaroo Fern (AMAZING) I think I am going to give one a try, its beautiful!!
I wish I remembered where I saw it.... but I watched a video a few months back about the "Front" and "back" of my monstera being different and how to train it. I have been trying to focus on training the plant based on that since and it is already lovely! I barely remember it though. Wish I saved it. I want more videos like that lol focus on the growth pattern and work with the plant rather on my IDEA of what it should be doing and "Front" is not just the direction the leaves are facing; that is just where the light is lol stuff like that. Next are my caudex plants. I have them growing all willynilly but i want to look up more about then in their environments so I can shape them that way
Hi Harli, my name is Sharlee. I live in Provo. I have enjoyed your videos so much. I was wondering if you could be kind enough to tell me if there are nurseries you could recommend in Utah County I am a senior and am limited in where I can go. I know about J and J nursery but it is to far away. I wish McClouds was still here. Thank you for your kindness Your kids are so cute. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you Sharlee.
Hi Sharlee, there are two locations of Cactus & Tropicals, Salt Lake and Draper. By the way, their prices are definitely higher than J & J. But they have a nice choice of SMALL pottery.
A lot of your favorite plants are also mine. I have nearly all of them, except for the hoya, kangaroo fern and albo. Would really love to own an albo. Maybe one day 🤞😍 Great vid 🫶
Hi, I can see passiflora trifasciata in monstera albo shot. I kind of struggle with this plant, don't know what exactly it wants... It was good for some time but then most of leaves dried and fall off. Can you tell what care it needs? Would it make a normal size leaves when hanging? I kinda don't like it now because of it's trellis, and that makes me don't want to care for it which is sad because it has such unique and beautiful leaves! Also I never figured out what light is the best, in which it will make purrple leaves... Would it be happy under grow light or that's to much? This plant is unpopular so information are kind of hard to find...
Your albo is so pretty.. In 2020 I bought a cutting for $200 :( it took me a year to get it growing… and it reverted… I was sooo sad. So I sold itttt… now I have an albo cutting in water that someone gave me and I think it’s rotting :( so I just have no luck with that plant! 🌱
"I LIKE WEIRD SHAPED PLAAAAANTSS!!" !!! it me!!!!
Honestly the story about the Kangaroo Fern was my FAVORITE. I love it so much! So cute!
🥰❤️❤️❤️
I am definitely moving into the "easy plants" phase. I have also been moving a lot of my plants into terrariums or domes. It's making it where I don't have to water them as often and it's helping me keep them alive longer 😅
Your boys and Bismarck make my heart melt... sooo sweet 💚🐶💚
I love your dancing bones cactus honestly I watched the video a couple of months ago and that plant stayed in my head so I had to come back ⭐️
Also, no, I was not able to wait until my morning coffee routine to watch this. I was too excited and couldn't wait this time. Like most other times.
I love the plants you featured. I'm a sucker for a weirdo plant too! I like how you included some care tips in the video too ❤
Beautiful plants,👍so so happy...
And the end was so fun with your kids ‼️+🐾
💚🌱☘️🌵💚
Thanks so much 😊
Cutest ending EVER!!!!! ❤❤❤
This was nice to see . Love the boys at the end. They are such cuties .

I really liked seeing your unusual plants. It is nice to see something different.
Glad you enjoyed
I love this video! I am now convinced to get the money tree 😊

I love all your videos. You humor us and make us think. And the boys and puppy are a bonus. Happy new year !!!!

Oooh the hatoria, a dancing bone cactus 🌵 oooh ! I thought they were called something with a R?
I love my money tree!
My money tree is a thirsty ones too.
Your kangaroo fern is super tempting but I am also restricting myself from ferns!
All my Hoyas took forever to get started, but there no stopping them now!!!
I feel similar about anthuriums, they all look the same to me, not really into them (yet?) I love all the wild and weird ones too
Excellent video. I just like all your presentations anyway, and thank you.
Excited to watch this one, you look great and i love the jumper! ❤🌿

I'm just going to comment on my comment 😅
I am going to try making my own plant pots. Your handmade pots are beautiful and inspiring!

I thought the same thing about ferns, the only way I can keep them alive is in a terrarium. 🌿☘️
I’m loving plants I’ve had a while. I put them on poles and they are really sizing up. My Florida ghost, monsteras and several others ❤

Could you share where you bought the vessel the Kangaroo fern is in? I'm struggling with a fern and want to try the setup.
I found it at a secondhand store local to me. I check the places often bc they have pretty awesome vessels for super cheap a lot of time
Where did you get your shirt from??
Damsen madder a few yrs back
Thank you, it's so cool
💚💚
Harli, where is the crewneck from 😍😍
I laughed when you said "winter is a depressing month" because here in Canada it's more like a depressing 6 months. 😂😢
It is where I am too 🥲 from November to May 😭
Not first! 😂

I have never seen most of your plants featured
I'm really happy to have shown some new ones then (:
I have a hatoria or is it a rhipsalis?
🤔

When you talk about your Albo it made me think of people who keep a rare dog pregnant for $$
Dont you attack velvet textured philodendrons!
Do you have a Begonia Melanobulata?
Yes! but in a terrarium 😝
I think so many do that Bye thing you do at the end -maybe it should just be your boys giggling at the end. That would be fun and cute.
But your ring?!?!?! 💍 💎 🤤
Girl you may not want your Hoya GG to bloom…it smells like sweaty gym socks.
🤢 but they’re so pretty
@@HarliG yea they are, and they bloom easily in my experience! Just don’t get too close hehe
I adore that Kangaroo Feen! I need to get one!🦘It’s so jungley!
