These are the most hilarious fakes I’ve ever seen- The first dachshund you showed has the head of 1751 and the body of 518. These are really interesting fakes. If they aren’t head swaped, they’re falling apart... At the end of the day, you have many customizing bases! And remember, if the base looks too bad, make a zombie out of it. OR, sculpt till the base looks good. 💖

Yknow how there is the lps database with all the pets documented there? Is there a page there for pets that have been bootlegged? Some maybe when someone is unsure if their pet is a fake they can see if anyone else has reported that fakes of that pet are in circulation? Because there’s probably obscure pets or moulds that have never been reproduced I’d assume

I got an authentic dachshund 932 not too long ago and I managed to snag her for 10% off the original price she does have a chipped foot at the back but no one can really see it it’s because she’s old and the last owner probably handled her a lot but I hope you get her one day

If there's a way we can communicate and I show her to you (when I get her out 😭) you can see if she's authentic or not, Ive had her for years (pretty good condition) and I never order lps online I straight up got them from Walmart when they were selling or at yard sales and the flea market which all Ive bought im for sure are authentic, Ive spent alot 😂

The seller could also get scammed, bought them from somebody who told them they are original, I only box ups in sealed boxes from Ali
Saw this exact listing and was very hesitant on buying the main fives since I thought they were fake, plus with shipping and everything they are quite expensive to be taking a risk. Glad your taking about this so others don't get scammed.

I’m like 100% sure I’ve had some of these models from actual LPS packages when I was younger, but idk it’s been a super long time 😭
The dachshund is especially familiar for some reason. Most of the LPS I had as a child had pretty stiff heads, I actually wasn’t even aware they were supposed to have bobbling heads 😭

The purple cat is not a tabby, as tabby cats are cats with stripes.
(Though honestly that’s the least of the issues in this lot.)
The mould is called tabby cat

I’ve never heard it called that, either.
I have heard it called “sitting cat” and “gumdrop kitty/kitten/cat” due to its distinctive head shape- both of which more accurately describe the mold.
Lpsmerch lists the versions of the mold as Kitten V2 (which has three variants) , the sitting version as Kitten V3, and the single standing version as Kitten V4.
Doing the math, out of 50 versions of the mold (not including the three tigers), only 13 tabbies are actually present, or 26%.
Even when counting only sitting cats (the only version of this mold with tabby markings), 13 out of 46 cats only results in 28.26% of “tabby” molds actually being tabbies.
Tldr: naming a mold after a marking present in less than a third of its variants rather than after its shape doesn’t make sense.
