I purchased the Timex Expedition as an alternative to spending $1,200 to have my classic Breitling Navitimer cleaned. The Timex is a great watch and, unlike the Breitling, it's waterproof!
Bought mine a three wks ago, really like it. I have three of them now four Timex. The first one is 40 yrs old & hand wind , I think it’s an expedition. But no markings stating expedition and the base plate only has Philippines on it.
The Timex Weekender has my favorite watch face because I work graveyard shift and it has very simple 13-24 hour marks that are easy to read. I just wish I could find a watch under $200 that has that kind of simple 24 hour face but has a 4 oclock offset minimal crown like on a Seiko 5. I hate the feeling of the crown digging into the back of my left hand.
my timex weekender mineral crystal has scratches and I want to replace it. Does anyone know the diameter and thickness of the OEM crytal so I can order a replacment?
Just send it back to Timex and they will install a new crystal for $38. Actually, so long as parts are available, they will service any broken watch for that price. I had a new movement installed in mine after the battery leaked, and now it's mechanically new again.
Brother I will offer an idea. There are hardly any reviews of the croquet gmt black bay homage. I like watch different peoples opinions and their are only two real reviews of this watch
What's your wrist size? I really like the chronograph but worried about it being too big for my 6-6.25 inch wrist. Your answer would help a lot with my decision.
@@redragna3648 Ah.. that's too bad. I was thinking of getting one myself and my wrist is just over 6.5". Maybe one of those smaller expedition solar perhaps. Do you have any images of the weekender chrono on your wrist?
@@edhveidhrejesh6457 Sadly, I do not but I do want to point out that it still fit (there wasn't any overhang) and most people thought that it was fine I am just not a big fan of giant watches. (My favorite is my Seiko SNK). I think if you are ok with a larger watch, you'll be perfectly fine with it on a 6.5-inch wrist. I think it wears big due to its thickness more than its actual diameter too, so something to keep in mind.
I mean when I bought my first Analog I was able to figure it out within the first 5 mins without the instructions. I can see why you’d need the instructions, but I’m pretty dumb and I did without!
I have all these three in 40 mm plus a marlin burgandy and I am thinking about the new white expedition mechanical for my birthday. Too many affordable watches dammit !!!
Very true. Looks like Timex caught on, however, and are starting to pump out some really awesome affordable automatics! Only a matter of time before they revamp the classic Weekender with an automatic movement, in my opinion.
Yes, the Fairfield is much more minimal, that's a great direct comparison. What I was trying to get across in the video is that Timex is generally just as good in design and build quality, for (often) a lower price.
The fact that you consider a timex made watch comparable to those "fashion watch" like MVNT is a BIG insult to the long history of timex as a watch maker and to horology itself.
I might have poorly misrepresented my point - that if someone is already considering purchasing a MVMT or other fashion watch, they should spend their money on a great watch like Timex instead. I think we are in agreement.

Yes I have 4 Timex 3 MK1 and one Expedition Chronograph
Love them

I have the Expedition chronograph, as my One Watch
(I am poor)
and it's serving me well.
I just recently picked up an Expedition Scout and I’m loving it so far. I ordered a Weekender and I may order a Chronograph soon too.
Interesting video. Regards.
Superb video! The blue expedition looks amazing. It's time for another Timex. 😊
the magic trick of these watches is the indiglo feature.
What other make of watch lights up like this?
Do you know if it’s possible to do hydro mod on these indiglo watches?
Is the chronograph tick loud?

Hey, first can I recommend trying a bit of poly watch? It's a paste you rub on that costs less than $10 and generally works great on mineral.
@@ChronometerCheck ok I'll try that. I was discouraged at first because I saw a lot of negative reviews about it online

Try toothpaste if you don’t want to wait for the Ploy rub.

if you haven't gotten the watch already, he mentions at 4:00 that he has a 7" wrist

You will be fine. Not too big, not too small.
can't go wrong with these 👌👌👌💯
Ordering the green and tan chronograph weekender
Hi friends,
Can anyone tell me what's the difference between Expendition and weekender TIMEX watches ?
Expedition is more water resistant and has a date counter.
I like Timex & my newest one is the Weekender chrono...!
Fantastic watch. How are you liking it so far?
Fine, thanks!
Muy buen video amigo! Me encantan los timex!
I mean when I bought my first Analog I was able to figure it out within the first 5 mins without the instructions. I can see why you’d need the instructions, but I’m pretty dumb and I did without!
Hi ya I’ve got a couple of them and as u said great watch great prices
Thanks for watching and commenting! You have great taste.

look into the Waterbury series by timex
If these Timex watches were automatic, it would be Legendary watches! But, for me are not worth it!

The fairfield is closer to MVMT and DW I feel like.
