Still don’t get how you don’t have more subs. You’re more knowledgeable and more of a normal person than a big majority of the “popular” reptile TH-camrs!
Haha thank you. The channel is growing and it's funny you mention that because I literally say this in the next part 2 of 2 that I'll upload tomorrow. It's because the channel is focused on education and learning rather than stupid stuff to get attention.
At the risk of bringing up the obvious, make sure the water is at a temperature the snake is comfortable with. I have found Repti Shedding Aid by Zoomed useful. After the soak, dry the snake a bit, and apply the spray, gently rubbing in. It softens the skin further, making it easier to remove. A humid hide is very usedul, provided the snake uses it. Just a plastic box with a good layer of damp sphagnum moss, and a hole at the top for the animal to move in and out.
My king had a bit of stuck shed, basically gave her a bath then used my thumb and index to form a circle and let her slide through again and again using the circle with my fingers and soaking her as needed. Thank God I haven't had stuck eye caps though. My king is a sweetie and wasn't worried at all about getting tagged and she's still not full grown but getting there but very calm temperament. Still waiting on my Sunglow 🐍
For anyone following through, be very careful with the tail, they break easily. Check on the next sheds that the last piece dosen't get stuck again, as it can accumulate and eventually cause necrosis.
I have the info pepper into a lot of videos but nothing with it all centralized in detail. It's hard to do it all in one video because there's so many factors that can impact it. I'll see what I can do though.
As a breeder most of your snakes are in totes or trays. Do you have showcase style enclosures for your pets, do you have pets? What substrait do you use for showcase enclosed an is it different than you need or stock snakes? Again thanks for your insight an passing it along.
Great information! I've got a jungle carpet python going through a bad shed right now . I will soak him today. Have you ever tried a product called Shed-ease?
K thanks for the quick response i keep my humidity gauge up high in his terrarium and it stays above 60 percent but his last shed split in the middle and stuck to his back and tip of tail half hour soak and it come right off just feel like it stresses him out to much to keep doing that i just changed the substrate to reptile prime and hes going thru shed again so hopefully i can get a full shed so far i havemt gotten a full shed from him hes 5 months old and i would like to save them to show how much hes grown each month but hasnt worked yet the ball python i have full shed everytime so i really hope that changing his substrate will do the trick thanks again for the response
Good stuff as always. Jason i am dealing with stuck eyecaps i have chosse to increase humidity in the air and substrate along with daily soaks and waiting on next shed to come in. Whats your opinion she is a rescue that came in with a bad case of mights and scale rot and emaciated she is doing well now healing eating she has had one. Assited shed from a long soak but caps are still stuck.
You could make her a humidity box with a good size bottom of a plastic container containing sphagnum moss. Make it large enough to contain her body and deep enough to borrow. The moss will help loosen her eye caps and shed. I am so happy she now has an owner who care for her.
@@karyannfontaine8757 she's doing great these days. I did correct her environment. And a few days later she was out of it. So basically she did all the work herself it worked out. When I got here she was in a 40 qt tub and with a dry water bowl. Nothing else in there she was starved ribs showing with a huge wound from a rat chewing on her it was not scale rot .she looks totally different now and she spends her days in a 44gal animal plastic tub with her cat litter box for a hide and a clean bill of health from the vet
Have you ever had one of your boas grow a tumour? My boa has a large growth on her left flank and the vet thinks it is one, but we're still waiting on the lab results. Do you know if it is worth attempting surgery?

Videos talking about basic genetics and just showing off different snakes are great 😛

A video talking about your boa breeding plans and what will be available after this upcoming season from you would be a nice video.👍
Good job. I liked this one. No BS just good info. Thanks j

Your content is great. Do a video on which pairings you are excited about for the coming breeding season. 👍
Tighter Shirt Please

Lmao. Maybe no shirt?
Definitely won't complain! 😁🤣

Great video. How’s about a detailed video conditioning boas for breeding.

Fantastic topic Brotha very common issue
Great vid, as always. And thanks for the tip. I'll use it the next time my ball python sheds. Keep doing what you're doing. 👍🏽👍🏽
Hey Jason could you talk about scale rot and the best way to deal with it with both dryer and not so dry species 😁
Many time some antibiotics are very helpful if not necessary so I'm cautious to make that video but I'll see what I can do.
I can see the snake literally dropping skin while you’re holding it!!

Whats the perfect humidity for a boa i try to keep mine arounf 65 percent is that right
About 50-75% is a good goal/range. Slight dips above and below I'm not going to bother anything.

Make sure the humidity box is over a heat mat so she does not get cold. All a rough cloth or a rock for her to rub against.
