    Great video! Successful replacement! Two things I learned: 1) Be careful with that little tab that secures the light bulb to the wiring harness - mine broke off when I plugged the new light bulb in (taped the heck out of the harness with electrical tape and will see how that holds up for now). 2) I recommend feeling around with your finger tips for the small hole that the bulb goes back into. Once you’ve got the muscle memory for where the bulb needs to go, position the wiring harness and bulb in your fingers to aim the tip of the bulb at the opening of that little hole and take it basically straight in. Once the tip is inside the lamp, you can reposition your hand for the best angle to push it the rest of the way in and twist / righty-tighty it in place. Once the bulb is basically in, if you move it back and forth clockwise and counterclockwise a few times, you’ll eventually feel it click into place for the righty tighty move next. The best position for the insert is on one knee facing the back of the Jeep, with left hand in the wheel well and right hand on the bumper. I’m 6’1”, 190 lbs - I think if my hand was any bigger I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish this replacement.

    Turn the passenger wheel all the way to the left and remove the front part of the inner fender liner. 1-10mm nut and 4 plastic push pins. Pull the inner fender liner back and you have much more room. The job takes about 15 minutes going in this way.

    I could not do this from the wheel well. I loosened the ECM unit and then removed the two 10 mm bolts from coolant reservoir and move it to the side a little. This gave me enough room to get my hand in there. Hardest part after that was getting the bulb loose. Once I finally got it loose it was easy going. All these videos helped but what a pain in the arse.

    Just finished replacing the passenger side. Tried to do it from the access at wheel well but was not successful.
    I decided to go top side and move the coolant reservoir (2) 10mm bolts then unclipped the computer bracket and moved it to the side. You don’t need to disconnect any wires or hoses. Both can be moved over so you can have room.
    Got a good grip on the bulb, turned it left and it came out. Popped the new one in and was done in about 15mins.

    So, What I found was that it's a matter of having the right tool. I opened the bottom ant the hood, removed the TCU(?), disconnected the bulb in place and used that simple tool, that you get from the paint store to open paint cans to get the leverage you need to turn the bulb. It worked perfectly...perfectly. I hope this helps you too.

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds good, but on customers cars, you don't want to remove or move anything that will come back to you later when they say, ever since you changed my headlight my car now does this...etc..on your own car its good, since you know what you removed or moved..

    So I'll save a lot of time for most of you guys out there... I just switched out low beam bulb on passenger side of my 2018 Limited. Reach under coolant reservoir beside radiator but between hoses and light fixture. (With right hand) push hoses of coolant reservoir back to make some room to reach up to elbow deep or so. I twisted off and put back bulb prob faster than i wrote this text.. AND I have only half of my right hand thumb, so if you have all digits then it should go even smoother.. Yes, it was low beam and I just remembered I forgot to put back the rubber cap. Best of luck!

    The key to success is “hugging the car.” One hand comes through the bottom access panel hole and the other through the top. It’s miserable. Unfathomable design from someone who needs punched in the face repeatedly. But that’s how you do it. Being very aware of the direction you need to loosen and tighten saves you time.

    It's quite possibly the stupidest way to have to access to change a bulb. I've changed Chevys, Fords, GMC, Toyotas and Subarus and this is the poorest design ever. Getting it back in place is a complete pain in the a$$. Jeep just wants you to go to the dealership for a change and an hour labor. Driver's side is easier, but the "righty tighty" reassembly on the passenger side is done blindly and is a joke. Jeep should be ashamed.
