You guys realize c& c are in Indiana! Obviously none of you guys realize how much it costs to ship an oversized dozer over and back..when a local company comes in and do it..some of you guys watch way to much TH-cam.
Ask Cat if they could schedule you for PMs or if they even do it in your area. "Preventative maintenance schedule " PMs do cost a little money, but they also save money in preventing big money repairs.
It is nice to see people who wants to work, it isn't a case of how much they expect earn, it is about having employment. Growing I was always looking for opportunities to work, I bucked bails for farmers at one penny a bail, I picked wild blackberries for one dollar a gallon, I worked in the family business and learned to butcher animals. Growing up my days started at five am and didn't end till there wasn't anything else to do....
G day from Australia Ryan a bit of my history mate 50 years earthmoving the last 26 in waste l watch your ytube channel quite often. From my experience i can see you have a lot going on you are one man you can not be everywhere,i make reference here to your cat d6 this machine should not have got to this stage with the running gear. From my experience you need a good plant supervisor or manager who can keep on top of all maintenance. (Preventive maintenance) That said we enjoy watching how you guys do things over there.
G'day friend! You're right - and thanks for the sound advice, I appreciate it! (On a side note, Courtney's marking our Mr. DiGG world map from where you're watching)
I would run the dozer until the new chains and sprokets are in. Its scrap metal anyways I hope you and crew gets through the strenuous time without an accident
Give it a good pressure wash, to make it easy to repair. Sadly a big expense a little too soon - but that's life in your industry, it's hard wear and tear on the machines. Best of luck 🤞🏼
Hey Mr Digg sorry you screwed up your dozer that sucks. Interesting to think about but I'm 56 years old and the county dump where I was raised has expanded at least to 20 times the size it was when I was a kid. And there are mountains built there it is crazy to watch it expand over the years.
One thing I've learned in my long career in the Construction industry, is that, "no matter what !!", when it's time for maintenance, you got to do it, or you'll eat the "rotten fruits" of your greediness ! I also ate them ! Sorry for you Ryan, good luck and Amitié de la France !
You’re right about that! Thanks my friend. (NOTE TO SELF: we’re pinning the Mr. DiGG world map now on the spot you’re watching from in France - thanks!)
Ever see guys clear land with anchor chain on dozers. Something like that might work on that island. Look it up its awesome they weld lugs on big anchor chain and a dozer on each end of the chain rips everything out.
Looks busy as Ryan. Hope you weren't drowned out. Surprised the D6 has those hrs on it already! Good to hear a couple of trusty ol 3406B's singing away next to each other..
Get the parts on hand, then just run the old set till nothing is left. You got nothing to lose. Even if you had to throw some sprocket segments on it. You could still get 500-1000hrs outa those rails.
As I was watching all the boxes and cardboard I was thinking about your recycling process you want to start up. Then you mentioned that once there is some room you would bring the shredder down there.
Thanks for the video Mr Digg hopefully Mother Nature is in a better mood and the rain's not too bad But we have to have some bad days so we appreciate the good days more 👍 P.S. Might be an idea to ask about bottom roller guards or "quarry spec" for the Cat You're definitely into new pads, track chains and sprockets but fingers crossed that the idlers and top and bottom rollers aren't too beat up from the worn chains riding over them As has been mentioned C & C Equipment might be able to help Keep smiling bro you're the reason we're all here 👍
Ryan have them save the pads have Aaron order in some grouser bar to weld on pads it will lengthen grouser bars and save a ton of money looks like you might have to change the rails but I'd ask about turning the pins and bushings they may be to far gone also ask them what it would cost to have another set of final drive segments on hand for next undercarriage might lengthen your tail Life id also have Aaron run some hard face rod on Cross hatch pattern on corner of blade skin considering that is hard wear point also you can hard face the idlers to lengthen there Life id say you hit it close at 50 grand this time around but you can do some of the measures I spoke of earlier to save you thousands in the long run
Bro your cat pssr should be measuring that for you an your price guess is within the right range your going to have to take that guy to the truck shop for that kinda work to be done also your final drives are serviced the first time is around 3k to 5k hrs depending on the environment and samples if you use the pm program
Ryan, I heard you say you're taking the rap for your dozer undercarriage problems...but I think operator and mechanic that greases and fuels machine could have sounded a warning..every week til you either had it scheduled for repairs or told them to quit bugging you....jmo brother...
Landfill dozer operators worst nightmares… barbed wire fence, spring mattresses, and cable weight lifting sets. I’ve had my fair share of experience with running dozers in landfills. 😂
So what you are saying is is never buy a dozer 😅 75 k in 4 k hrs wow he never made money with that. That’s a little over a year if that. That less then a year on a buncher
If you're too busy to keep up with routine maintenance, you need more machines and more employees to spread the workload around. And possibly an assistant manager so YOU aren't too busy.
Landfill operations are real hard on equipment, specially the undercarriage no matter how much care you take, even the purpose built machines, at least you don't have to contend with bird shite raining down on the machines as well.👍
So turning those parts would only give you 100 more days use. The price for the maintenance to only get 100 more days 800 hours use you probably saved money postponing the maintenance.
On the frame less dump you should try to keep customers to wait tell he dump his load that TRL could go south in a heartbeat . Hate to someone to get hurt .
We all get busy at least you got the money to get it fixed! Make some more videos lol! All the business your in got to get expensive on up keep. Hang in there hopefully at the end of the year you can go to dinner at least lol!
When was on a landfill in good old England we used drots on them instead of a dozer can push the same as a dozer but can carry cover material pick waste up brilliant bits of kit for the jobs 👍
Ryan sending you blessings I espect lot s rubbish coming from the poor folk who lost house's in that tearable hurricane 🌀 few weeks ago .. my good friend works for finn caterpillar England he no,s how much tracks cost best regards 👍 hopefully raining not so good
Hey Ryan, if you do get the time to do so, I for one would love to see the CAT technicians/mechanics work on D6 Dozer under carriage and everything, I think that would be a very interesting video to watch, I like your videos too, I'm a subscriber to your channel. PS.... Courtney is an attractive young lady and she always seems to be in a chipper good mood and smiling a lot!!!
I'm not sure of the laws regarding washes, but a wash area with high pressure guns to clean the cats and other equipment would go good with a service truck with a greaser or tool greaser after a wash. I'm sure it would be a reclaiming system with a settling tank. Would Dave money and Clean the windows. Lol
Hey I was going to tell you if get a log clay and put it on one of the track hole loader it will help the logs in the moch yard with picking up the logs and brush to ganders
Well?? 🤷🏻♂️ time flys by and it’s not like you only have “ one” thing to worry about about 🤦♂️ For years I ran a baby 450 an asked it to do a D8 job. But when I started it had new sprockets new web & pins an bushings tread plates had new bars welded on. Working in gravel and 80% pure sand . In two years it was too late to turn the bushings 🤦♂️. Motor wise? She was top notch maintenance done but I knew the tracks had just been re built an just assume had a life time of use . Well like you I was sadly mistaken 😱 it was actually cheaper for me to buy a complete track ( drive 1 pin in and go ) than the labor to salvage the tread plates they were at just 55% . Grandfather always told me “ son we don’t learn anything in life unless we make mistakes “😂😂 he was right!! Sorry to hear about the dozer but don’t beat yourself up on it your only one man you can’t be 100 different places at the same time. ❤ I know what I told you don’t help the pocketbook but your not the only one who made the boo boo 🫣
Yeah Ryan buddy, check with Clint at c&c equipment, or get a hold of Todd at truck or track, dirt perfect gets his carriages from todd alot, cheaper than cat, but I don't know how car does that, will they do the work still if you buy it from another source, Todd would be cheaper I bet, thanks for sharing bud and I look forward to seeing the next video as always 🇺🇲✊🤙💪👍
would love to see lil look at your water truck and pressure wash trailer. I own a pressure washing business and garden center lol have that same pressure pro unit just a cold water version.
Clint at C&C Equipment is an ITR dealer and can you do you right without demanding Cat prices. Price of missing the maintenance would cover an on staff maintenance supervisor to get your equipment on schedules and take the responsibility of getting it done.
So was it a business decision to not do the maintenance on the dozer or not keeping an eye on the hours? I ask because there is fleet management software that can track stuff like that. With my old biz I had made an Access Db to track all the equipment and their maintenance and calibration schedule.
For your embankment area's. Then someone like hessian. Called dup mat. Once you have shaped your embankment. Put that stuff down. Then seed. Holds it all together and the matting brakes down. Over time. Say with in a year.
check with clint at c&c on your undercarriage price.
I second this
C& C equipment
Shipping it there wouldn't be cheap though. But I agree, check with Clinton.
Good call mate. Quinten @ iron king also worth a call. PS - Clint's got a great set-up
You guys realize c& c are in Indiana! Obviously none of you guys realize how much it costs to ship an oversized dozer over and back..when a local company comes in and do it..some of you guys watch way to much TH-cam.
C & C is the man to call first! Ole Clint is a book of knowledge!!
I like the fact you admit it, which means a lot about your personality.
We would put sprocket segments on it and keep on running it to failure. All the parts are scrap except pads so might as well just run it out.
Ask Cat if they could schedule you for PMs or if they even do it in your area.
"Preventative maintenance schedule "
PMs do cost a little money, but they also save money in preventing big money repairs.
You said it, PM’s cost money. If you wear the beautiful tractor out before the lease is up. Who cares?
Like your idea @beaverc2884

throw a track on the landfill pile would be a nightmare to deal with
Never a dull moment. Just gotta keep on keeping on.
Man the dozers take a beating I’m amazed how tuff those compactors are doing that day after day
Give it a good pressure wash, to make it easy to repair.
Sadly a big expense a little too soon - but that's life in your industry, it's hard wear and tear on the machines.
Best of luck 🤞🏼
Rdo john deere quoted us a price 20000 less than cat. Our cat 963 track loader was worn out at the same hours. We're pushing it til it breaks

check with Clint at C AND C equip in NASHVILLE IND. they r in the southern part of the state.
Oversized load from no to there ok
@@GeniseCarriere what's he going to do?

THANKS Mr DiGG track speed also wears tracks faster and your guys are always in HIGH GEAR 😊😊😊

Landfill Bull Dozers. Great Band Name 🤘
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 keep your head above the water
Landfill dozer operators worst nightmares… barbed wire fence, spring mattresses, and cable weight lifting sets. I’ve had my fair share of experience with running dozers in landfills. 😂
I bet! It’s like a nightmare mixed with a treasure hunt!
Aways happens when you are the busiest. It's still a nice walk around . Thank you for sharing 😊
For a complete undercarriage, I would estimate at least $50,000, but most likely closer to $75,000.
So what you are saying is is never buy a dozer 😅 75 k in 4 k hrs wow he never made money with that. That’s a little over a year if that. That less then a year on a buncher

agreed
I'm in the construction equipment repair industry, PM (Preventive Maintenance) is so important.

Thank you! I learned a lot about landfill logistics and planning. Your channel is always an education but this was special.
I appreciate you saying that. That’s exactly what I want to do!
Busy day at the landfill indeed! I worked at a transfer station that took both C&D along with MSW and it would get so busy at times.
They should do it there i work at a mine and they do that work on sight
SORRY FOR YOUR PAIN LOL
Hope you didn’t get too much rain Ryan , but as they say busy makes money to pay the bills and the amount coming in is soon going to build that ramp
We all get busy at least you got the money to get it fixed! Make some more videos lol! All the business your in got to get expensive on up keep. Hang in there hopefully at the end of the year you can go to dinner at least lol!
I remember the video ya getting that dozer bro, gee the undercarriage sure did not like that environment at all. Safe travels. Ken

You just need track chains and sprockets from the looks of it. Call C&C Equipment he could probably get you the parts at a better price than CAT

Wow I hope you have a lot of space for all the trash coming in from the house demolishing of people houses
thank you for that I like seeing that
Sorry things are stressful. Hope you don't get to much rain. Hugs to you!
Send it up to C&C and let them do a video on it with Kevin swinging his magic on it at the end with a new paint job! 🤷♂️
looooong haul!
$55,000? Thats about 2 good TH-cam videos. You will have that knocked out in no time!
LOL Not quite!!
is it still cost effective to do a wet pin and bushing turn in the US?
Hi bud expensive day then. won't take long to get it back lol👍
love it call c&c for your dozer

That Rotochopper event has you behind. Not to mention Helene
Definitely get in touch with Clinton at C&C equipment about getting parts for that machine
Try the the firm that dirt perfect uses Tod at truck and tractor I think
About a day to replace that easy peasy
That sand it rough. Heck put berco rails and spockets let it ride

Never check cutting blade when down you also need to consider mounting conditions
if your changing the drive sprockets im pretty sure the oil has to come out to change them anyways
That’s not good.
How is the clean up going?
great video and explanation Ryan thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍
If I remember correctly there was a discount code from dirt perfect as well
awesome i never comment ! waste is $$$$$ been in recycle many years….
thanks for watching!
Slacking on the maintenance never pays.😗
There is software for companies to use for your maintenance intervals.
Man, I hate to see the dozer go down. Oh well, the waterslide was more important than some silly maintenance schedule for a million dollar dozer.😂
