  • The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant illustrates Jesus' command to forgive "seventy-seven " times. Fr. Bill preaches on the difficulty of this unclassified Mandate from Jesus, what it means, and how we go about the process of Forgiveness.

Thank you blessed Father William for an insightful Homily … it’s indeed hard to forgive , but as you mentioned , to walk towards that goal , which I will … My prayers from afar for you Father, for virtue, strength and guidance 🕊️🌹🌹🌹

It's truly inexplicable why we allow those wounds to fester. If they heal, even if scars remain, we are certainly better off. If allowed to fester, they may consume our very lives. Yet, how often we fail to find the strength to forgive.
Maybe each time I do forgive, I should stop puffing up with the thought that God is in my heart. Let us all instead remind ourselves that we are in the heart of God. And we forgive for we have been forgiven (Ep 4:32).
Thank you, Fr, for shedding light into the dark corners of my soul.

Great homily Father Bill. I, for one, needed to hear this. My priest's homily was similar. I don't know how many times I have read it in the Gospels, but never fully "got it" until I heard it from my priest. I never saw it as a mandate, like you described. There are a couple incidents in my life that I have held grudges for. If Jesus was able to forgive those, who crucified him; I can work a little harder on forgiveness myself. Thank you!
    God bless!
    Vivat Jesus!

PS, Yes it’s really difficult to forgive if you get hurt but if you think God and love him that’s we can do it!

We were taught, by our Saintly Nuns, that Jesus said we must Love our enemies, he did not say we have to Like them.....
Do we not bring up Mother Mary's feelings of the Cruxification each time we pray the Sorrowful Mysteries???
Perhaps you've spoken about these thoughts....
God Bless you.... thought provoking homilies.🙏🙏🙏 12:37

❤I always forgive. But my transgressors will NOT be forgiven by GOD, for they knew exactly what they were doing. ❤
