The audience had a couple "ohs" and "ahhs", the kind that only a story about such a mattress could bring. Thats what I call a good time.
This guy is absolutely going to be one of the greats. I don’t know why people don’t talk about him like Bill Burr and Dave Chapelle. I wish I could invest in this dude because the stock would be going up

I’ve seen him do a few shows in Dayton and he’s visited Yellow Springs I believe Dave Chappelle is still building his comedy club in Yellow Springs and I wouldn’t doubt Dusty will be performing there after it is finished and I bet that will help him get his name out there even more I don’t know how he hasn’t blown up and passed a lot of comedians yet I think he is well capable of being one of the best comedians

Great story! I can relate. Friend suggested that I should put two straps on the mattress when we were moving my mattress... "Na, the one is good, I say, its not going anywhere". Later down the freeway I was wondering why this a-hole trucker was flashing his lights at me. Then noticed it was no longer in the bed of my truck. I backed up on the shoulder on the freeway and picked it up, slept on it for 5 years with a huge gash it in from the 18 wheeler as well.

Dusty is so underrated! He's like a less in your face Theo Von. He's so very clearly an artist in the sense that he possesses the gift of being able to transcend an audience from their current reality into another. He's certainly funny, but I'm drawn to him more for his story telling abilities than his comedic genius. It's hard to not listen to him and that's a gift. He makes me feel feel like i'm sitting on the couch of my goofiest buddies house just leaning into them being them.

God I relate to Dusty's humor and stories so damn much!
I love your comedy and your podcast. I recommend to listen to whole episodes. I heard Dusty say people tell him "oh you'll make it one day". The dude absolutely made it, not even questionable. As a musician who hasn't made it- he's where any performer would want to be. He's honed his craft, he makes a living and he's great at what he does- you see someone on late night ever, they made it...on so many levels he made it. He could do what he's doing for the rest of his life and nothing more and die a made man.
This guys needs a sitcom. I keep saying it. Somebody up there listen to me!

Christmas 2000. Heavy snow. We cruising the park and see a mattress out on the curb. What hits the curb is public domain, we all know this. It was actually pretty nice. We hooked it to a tow rope and ride it like a sleigh behind the van. Like all night. We throw it back on the same curb the next morning. Absolutely destroyed. Soaking wet. Torn with black streaks all over it. They kept it 3 more years.

I feel Dusty could make any subject sound funny. It reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld. Just hearing Dusty's opinion about anything makes me smile. I can imagine a Dusty Slay card game... Maybe there could be a deck of 101 cards with subjects on one side and a funny sentence about it by Dusty on the back. Then you could take 3 cards and put them together to make a story, a little bit like mad lib. The player or team with the funniest story wins... Another idea would be a traditional mad lib notepad storybook to fill with Dusty Slay flair/style to make your own joke story, where you add a verbs, nouns, etc... Another idea is a Dusty Slay trivia game about subjects Dusty likes. Feel free to use the ideas.
