I had to go to a conference in San Antonio TX this week for my other jobby job this week and even though it was hot as hell I had to go to thrifts just to check them out. I spent $220 and I was completely floored at what I found! TWO amazing Johnny Was dresses that were $7.99/each, Reformation, Lululemon, Maeve, beautiful vintage items for $1.99. Y'all in Texas are leaving these items for a Kentuckian to find. I'm still amazed at what I found. THANK YOU TEXAS!

Hope, we are not near some sort of bad crash. Thanks Tech, as a 26 year reseller, I listen to you just for the inspiration and vibe alone. You help keep me "on the straight and narrow" (:
Ya don’t go UPS on golf clubs they overcharged my eBay store $1,522.77 which shut me down for 20days I received a reversal but still so now I go pirate ship on golf clubs with an unattached credit card from my eBay store freaking nightmare
I wish we could have the old days ebay back! Remember when they clicked on add and your sales page was yours and not 500 competitors with your same item or other options.
Hi! Regarding the question of leaving a full-time job or other situation to go full-time to re-selling I would add this to you list that you talked about. First and Foremost: NO BIG DEBT! NO BIG DEBT. Yep I repeated it because it is worth repeating. When I began I had enough to pay off my house. I did not. While I was gearing up learning how to do this, I went through that $. It can go very fast. I wish now, I would have paid off my house. I would have felt less secure, but in looking back it would have been the best thing for me to do. The planning....what are you going to sell? What will be your focus? How much room are you going to need? Are you going to need a storage room or a storage shed? Does it need climate control? You should plan out if you are going niche - or not, volume or not, etc. I did try niche myself and I got bored. I tried volume and same thing. I found for myself I need variety and I need specialty large ticket items. Will you need or want employees? Every single re-seller does it differently so think hard about what will work for you. Plan and Budget for the Photography Set Up, Shipping, Listing, Storage. If you have all that done...you are in a better place to make a great decision. I say no debt because you want to make your bills as small as possible. Ok That's my 2C , in addition to what you said. You have to be prepared for changes, ebay may change, the market may change, your situation may change...just be as pre-pared as possible. Good luck
I ran into an interesting dilemma when buying yesterday (i sell media mostly). I had a spot where I could get DVDs for 50 cents a piece where I would find $20-100 dollar dvds and cherry pick it every month or so. I go in yesterday and someone had bought ALL of the DVDs and now they dont stock them at all anymore. You could say I should have bought them all but then they would have stopped stocking them sooner. What could I have done differently there. I thought it was best to go cherry pick it once a month but then some other dude buys everything and they get out the business of them...... Another thing while buying I went to a spot where I could usually fill my trunk for $20 and get media. I would do same thing go in there maybe once a month and like 7 times in a row they would do the deal for me and then yesterday they randomly said no on the 8th time. It was hard not to get angry and it really makes me not want to go back and try again now LOL. Any advice? feel like I lost 2 sources in one day Edit: I ended up heading to the next place and filled my trunk I didnt want you to think I just gave up but sucks to be down 2 good sources potentially. guess lesson is to not get complacent and maybe talk to them more idk
Hi. I’m in South Florida also. Yesterday I was at a thrift in Broward. I started talking to a couple guys about where they get thier clothes. They said the “pub” in coconut grove. Said they have anything you want for cheap. Have you heard of this place?
I was trying to ask during the live in your opinion will sending items to auction to end instead of ending them directly help with impression slowdown? We have about 2k listings with arojnd 3k quantity and i want to remove about 500 listings worth and continue to build whats working for us. We have less space here than we did before, so I have to trim the fat of our old long tail items and sell them in live sales or at the flea.
Yesterday I tried looking up a sold comp, and it wouldn't go into the listing, instead it said, this item isn't for sale here are some listing available like this one. Very annoying when researching an item
???. Piggybacking off your wife's comment. Can we start a video w your wife joining you? It would be awesome to ask her question from the spouses view.
I sell used media, books, CDs, DVDs, video games, etc. I always struggle with the age-old question, free shipping versus calculated shipping. Specifically for used media, I think you have implied free shipping is the way to go, can you give a definitive answer? Obviously your opinion only, but free shipping versus calculated shipping for used media items. Thanks!
@@technsports unlike clothing, I think media buyers might be inclined to narrow their search down to free shipping offers. I'm currently doing a 1-month experiment of offering free shipping, which basically BAKES IN the actual shipping cost. Remember, Media Mail shipping rates are only based upon weight, and are flat rate, regardless of the distance to the buyer. So basically my question boils down to: Do used media buyers narrow their search results to free shipping offers, or are they motivated by the lowest cost? I favor calculated shipping at media rates, because of the frequent USPS price increases may negate any profit down the road on lower cost items.
You were paying child support for a child in your care? You're too nice! What an amazing turnaround you've had in your life. 20 years selling here, probably 12 full time, and I am still not making it :(
How you doing sir, If I have 5 items that are the same Should i list them all in one listing or one listing per each item just to satisfy the ebay algorithm?
Boots on the ground, talking to people, networking, flea market, garage sales, facebook marketplace, offerup, instagram. Everywhere! But you have to reach out and talk
Hi Tech Got a neutral feedback today from a buyer who never even paid ....crazy or what Why does Ebay even allow that anyway ? ...Hopefully they will remove it Only by second or third Neutral in about 15 years so really annoying

If they are exactly the same one listing quantity 5
Do you use gray or Grey, if I can I use both your thoughts
Both are the same result on ebay. Try it
