Athers' take on it in particular on the whole Bairstow incident is brilliant given the full-blooded hysteria the whole of England got into. The way everyone else was going on, you'd think Carey had killed and raped everyone alive. Still it was the perfect backdrop for Broad. The man must feed off drama like a vampire, he's that good. Perfect send-off for him in the end. Doubt there's going to be anyone else quite like him in that regard.

If we want less cricket, I agree with Trevor Bayliss. Drop T20 internationals and the meaningless T20 world cup. The franchise T20's are more engaging and exciting as long as the best players are available to play.
