a tip if you miss the bird, go into the pipe where you find the rumble moon, get the moon, and exit the pipe. this resets the cycle so the bird will be around 5-10 seconds away from you. and if you miss it again, just rinse in repeat
I retimed this sand, and it may not be completely accurate because I had to account in the time the globe animations take, but I found that this Sand was a 5:31.97, or something very close to it. If you were to have replicated this time along with the other beginner timings, then you would exit Sand at 11:33.01. This is a really good time, even without the upgrade paths considered. For example, I do the beginner strats and my gold is currently a 5:35.15. The upgrade paths (including the improved movement) save roughly 17.91 seconds, but I would say anything within a second of that depending on lines and movement, as it was pretty hard to get a solid number for this kingdom, as it has timesave everywhere, and there may be some pieces of movement that I didn't account for, but my final number is 17.91, so I'll be using that as reference. With the upgrade paths accounted for, this Sand is roughly a 5:14.06, which is better than some runners even with using the DSTA route, which I don't recommend until at least a time below 1 hour and 10 minutes for the full run. If you add this on to the 5:49.04 upgrade paths cascade exit, then the sand exit with the upgrade paths is an 11:03.10, which is absolutely astounding for a beginner. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them and I will answer all of them.
I still don’t think I’m the target demographic for this series, but it’s still incredibly detailed and fun to watch, so I still get enjoyment if nothing else from these. Keep up the great work Tyron and Tom!
soo why don’t get the employees only moon instead of the notes? and why do you get it in the DSTA route? i mean i know it’s probably slower but the notes really get on my nerves. keep up the good work this series is already amazing!
If you put employees only into this route, you have to go out of your way to get to it, just to add in 2 loading zones for 0 benefit because notes moon is really fast. In dsta route, you're already going that way for the seed moon, so the route isn't as trash.
Hey Tomshi, thanks for the great videos, really helps out as someone trying to learn this game I do have a question, if I mess up my ice fountain movement in the beginning and miss the bird as a result, what would you suggest using as a backup moon so the run doesn‘t fall apart because I have no idea how to save it from there? Thanks in advance for a reply, really appreciate you and your work
you could either try and grab it again after coming out of rumble room (the pipe moon) by either just standing and waiting (really slow), or grabbing it half way towards the dune moon (bit more tricky). Otherwise your best bet would be to take a detour and grab luggage moon or something. Definitely not ideal and quite a time loss. Probably better to just practice the movement so you don't miss the birb
I have been using this route as is rlly good but i have been curious about the one where u do get Sphynx Snd u get the bird and where the birds gather at the end and no notes is this another good beginner route where u don’t get the bird at the start
not necessarily. There are always hidden timesaves in odyssey runs, especially in a massive kingdom like this one with many hills and many routes. What is your gold? I find a 5:3x time to be achievable with this route, the beginner movement, and some practice.
I was also referring to the movement in this video. For example, tyron knows how to properly time rollboosts and take very tight lines, unlike most beginners. However, it is possible, and not hard to get a similar time.
The video was mostly great but if I may add some constructive criticism, I think the improvement part was a bit disorganized (as you said there are a lot of improvement and it takes time to go over all of it). Also even though you showed it, you didn't actually mention the fast bird strat, which to me really is in the category of minor beginner to intermediate strat. I really don't want you to think I'm just critisizing, I really want these videos to be the best (probably just like you).
I think he's talking about Hayano bird, which saves a very minimal amount of time when you do it properly. The methods shown in this video are much easier for beginners.
@@Titan-nh7ue I can't even do hayano bird so yeah not a chance I'd bother putting that here. they mention that I "showed it" though so I have no clue honestly

Bro tysm im so bad at the bird moon that I just go straight to the shop moon instead of it, this is really helpful
The Dune moon is legitimately the hardest moon in the Run. Change my mind
Bird cycle
It is.
No

bird
amazing how you can get a good time with relatively very simple movement
yeah I mean, back in the day my gold was close to sub 5 with this route so there's definitely plenty of room for improvement

That feeling when Tyron is better than you at everything

I love the upgrade movement section. I love how you show the seconds you could save in the kingdom. Keep making more videos! 😁
Good video Tomsiii, Keep it up
Also nice Sand movement from Tyron
This helped a lot, thanks!!

yes
Tomshi thanks tom, appreciate you and your content !
It's not useful for the beginner route though.

at the end of the kingdom what 1.0 runners did
It's fine, but it's a chunk slower than the route shown here.

Whats a good alternative to the bird at beginning just to complete sand kingdom? I want to improve all of it but i end up missing a moon with the bird
instead of trying to replace it, I recommend just working out how you can grab it. Definitely gonna work out better for you
