How to Skip the Mechawiggler in Super Mario Odyssey - Sherm Skip Tutorial

In Super Mario Odyssey, there is a speedrun category known as minimum captures; a speedrun where you capture the minimum number of things. In this run, the player is able to skip the Mechawiggler fight which means they don't have to capture the Sherm required to defeat it. In this video, I'll be showing you the cool glitch involved in doing it!
Using TAS tools, it was found that the first CRC is actually 5 frame window, as opposed to a 1 frame window (I can't remember if I actually said it was frame perfect but I certainly implied it lol)

Important note regarding future Minimum Captures videos (15th Jan 2021):
In this video I mentioned that I would be doing more videos covering more of the tricks used in the Minimum Captures speedrun. Cappy kept teleporting behind the fence when I did it with the normal amount of ground-pounds. I added three extra and I got it first try. Otherwise, great tutorial!

that might mean you haven't done enough cappy ground pounds, try adding an extra one if you find you keep getting just short. (also make sure to keep shaking the controller after cappy warps to home in, sometimes that can give enough extra difference)

no, although some camera positions do make it slightly easier to see when cappy's icon blinks (it's not a huge difference though)

if cappy just comes back to mario's head, probably means you pressed y a bit too early, so try delaying it just a bit (also make sure the initial y press is at the right time to) :)

Simplified Chinese. It's the game language used for pretty much all SMO speedruns as it has the least text to scroll through.
(Technically, Traditional Chinese is faster for at least the WR Any% route, but not much is known about how fast it is for other routes/categories, because it was only discovered that it saves like 10 frames over Simplified Chinese like a week ago, most people are sticking with Simplified for now.)
