Echo needs more love. Outside a small number of scenes he's the Bad Batch member with the least amount of screen time. Both Echo and Tech were little more than plot devices to talk tech jargon and provide exposition for the audience as they explain things to the crew. I think Echo literally had a total of 5 minutes of dialogue across the whole season.

I liked it overall. I personally was ok with the random adventure stuff since I’ve always liked those stories in Star Wars. The only big problems I had were some of the cameos were laid on thick, the Martez sisters didn’t need to be in the show, Hera was cool but she kinda hijacked the show and I like Fennec but she felt pretty interchangeable. The other issue I had is the show doesn’t give us any sense of how much time has passed throughout the season.

The way I look at, who watches season 1 of the Clone Wars and thinks “damn that was a good season”. Season 1 of Clone Wars showed all of the flaws and immaturities of the main characters but because of that it created a great foundation for the characters to grow and mature. I feel Bad Batch will be very similar to this (even though Bad Batch season 1 is definitely better than season 1 of the Clone Wars). With this season finale it left all of the characters emotionally exposed and leaves a lot of room now for the cast to grow and deal with their situation understanding now Crosshair’s motives.

Don’t get me wrong it doesn’t ruin the season and I’m happy that they made her that way so we could watch her mature and become one of the best characters Star Wars has ever seen. But looking at the season objectively it lacked some of the more serious tones and the story arch’s outside of setting a base for our characters were pretty inconsequential.

Not everything has to end on a cliffhanger. The danger they were in while Kamino was being destroyed was not a conclusion to what they all went through in this season. This season, from the main characters' perspective, was about control versus free will and the consequences of having the latter and the way the finale ended was a perfect conclusion. Leaving it at Tipoca city being destroyed would be a cheap and meaningless way to make the viewers feel obliged to watch season 2. TBB's problem isn't the Empire itself but becoming enemies with their brothers and the final arc with Crosshair solidifies this point

    2 complaints,
1 too much filler. Most of the episodes are just random adventures or quests.
    2. Too much focused on Hunter. The other clones don’t get anywhere near as much stuff as he does. Especially Echo and Tech. Echo is such an interesting character as he was a reg and he is untrusting of the seps and still wants to fight for the republic even though it doesn’t exist. and we should see more of him fighting back against hunters orders. He just kinda complains and goes a long. But no I wanna see him not listen at all. Maybe in season 2 they’ll wanna kill some clones but echo won’t let them because they are still their brothers. So echo “joins” the empire. (Not really but he only does it to protect his brothers and make sure nothing happens to them) or something like that. Also echo should of been more attached to Rex than they made him be. Also we should get to see more of Crosshairs. He is basically the Sasuke of the bad batch. And I wanna see more from his perspective.
Basically less filler. And less of hunter and more of crosshair echo and tech.

Tbh it makes me think of early seasons of the clone wars for a few reasons: lots of ideas being thrown around with some missing and some hitting, a healthy amount of filler, but overall enjoyable.
When Bad Batch was good, I had a fantastic time watching it, often going back to rewatch episodes I enjoyed several times over, while the lesser stuff I just sort of ignore without it bothering me too much.
I was a little disappointed with how they handled echo as he’s my favourite clone character and has a lot of potential in this show. I hope in later seasons they split up the team more and focus on individual characters. A good way to make up with echo would be to have an episode with just him and Rex, with echo explaining everything he’s been thinking since Kamino was destroyed; revealing he isn’t as comfortable talking about that with the others as he is with Rex. Doesn’t have to be action-packed, just two old friends having a chat.
Overall it was a fun first season and I don’t regret seeing it. Animation, sound fx and music, visual design and world building was all incredibly well done, just needs some work in the writing department. I for one am looking forward to season 2.

I honestly feel like people are making way too big a deal about the filler episodes and cameos and such. Clone Wars, Rebels and The Mandalorian all had episodes like that; heck, you can make the argument that basically the entirety of Clone Wars is pointless since by the end of it almost all of the good guys are dead and all of the good that they did was either undone or pointless. (Oh right: Spoilers if you haven't seen Clone Wars. Sorry.) Most of the episodes that people regard as filler still have significant moments of character development, awesome action scenes and if nothing else we still get to enjoy fun times with this lovable and awesome cast. Even if the episodes end the way they began, with the crew just flying off to parts unknown, they've always learned a valuable lesson, grown and mature to be even better people and grow closer together as a family unit; they're never quite the same as when the episode begins. The episodes where they are trying to figure out how to survive and discover their new purpose should be included in the effort of telling a concise story. All they knew before was life as soldiers defending the Republic, that was the whole reason why they even exist; now, everything is flipped on it's head, and the Republic they once swore to defend is now the Empire trying to destroy them. Where will they go? How will they survive? What is their purpose now? That's one of the main over-arching themes of the whole show, the Batch trying to find where they belong now. Even episode 10 is more than just "Omega's great at Chess"; it's about her wanting to do more to help the crew on missions and the crew struggling with that since their whole purpose is to keep her OUT of danger. And episode 16 may not have had a lot of story but it was an adrenaline inducing rush for survival episode. Will they make it? Will they have to leave someone behind? What will Cross-hair do? And after a heart-pounding series of events with even more story elements and character development thrown in, the manage to barely escape, and their conflict with Cross-hair has become even more layered and complicated. Nothing at all wrong with that and honestly a great place to leave off the season. Just because you can argue that 3 episodes out of 16 didn't add anything to the show doesn't take anything away from the other 13 that do, even if they only added a little. The fact that people are saying there's too much filler if anything shows me that the writers are doing their jobs perfectly; people are invested in the story, and they anxiously want to know more and see more. That's the mark of a great show right there. And I love that they're tying all of these different stories together; that's what fans have always wanted to see how all of these different places, people and events blend together in this wild and crazy galaxy. I mean heck, how many Star Wars videos are there on TH-cam of fans doing that exact same thing? Everything and everyone that appears always comes back and is relevant in some way; there's no coincidences or wasteful appearances, everything is on purpose and it all connects together somehow. Yet another mark of an excellent show. And I personally love all of the cameos of people from past and future shows. What happened to all of the other characters we met before? Are they alive? Is the Empire after them? Have they found a way to live peacefully? Are they safe? Where's Rex and what's he up to? Is Cad Bane still alive and will we ever see him again. These characters are all part of the Star Wars universe that fans know and love and have genuinely wanted to know what happened to them. They should be showing up and having a role in the story because they're a part of this story and the universe as much as anyone else, and again, they never show up without good reason. People went crazy (myself included) when Cad Bane and Rex returned and hopefully we'll see even more of them in Season 2, which I definitely can't wait for.

I think the problem was that George Lucas had some many ideas that he wasn't able to put them into three films. That big, that's why people loved the clone wars cause they made the prequel trilogy relevant to the story. Anakin was probably built up to a complicated character. From the perspective of his friends he was a good and loyal friend, from Anakin's perspective he questioned if that was even true and because of that he eventually ended up becoming Darth Vader.

Overall the Season for me is pretty 7/10. There were way to many cameos from characters who didn't need to appear such as Fennec and the Martz Siblings, however there were equally good cameos such as Hera and Rex, but all these old and new characters took away the focus from the Bad Batch and as such they feel rather under developed. Also the season plays too loose with when everything takes place like are we only a month after the war ended and we are having clones phased out this fast? I would like to know how much time passed between the first and last episode just so I can have a timeline of events.
The filler in the show was rather minimal in the grand scheme of things but when it was there it was obvious and borrring, the thing with Cids rival was unneeded entirely. Honestly the pacing felt like the shitshow that was Rebels; where the characters are doing things but it never feels like there is consequece, though unlike that show these characters are likeable. Also the "threat level" of the enemies they face are at the bottom teir as they are now facing the Disney Canon Empire who have a 1 in 100,000 chance to hit something, so you know rather than feel the Bad Batch are gonna be facing a growing threat instead its a diminishing one once they fully switch to the Stormtroopers, and Tarkins short sighted doctrine.
While this season wasn't outstanding if it follows Faloni's track record this should be a truely great show come season 2.

I just don’t get the people saying the show is just okay, or underwhelming. It seems like they’re looking for things to be mad about. lots of fillers, but the worldbuilding was great. i was afraid that omega was a ma REY sue, but im happy that dave filoni still knows how to make good charaters. echo was a bit sidelined (maybe because he is too similar to tech) *spoilers click read more to see what i think about echo* , and tech had no character development( and thats fine) but wrecker, hunter and sniper boy were great. a bunch of cameos, sometimes they feel unnnesesary, but theyre still fun. whats sad for me is that the crew is in the same spot they were after episode 4 or 5, so the finale changed almost nothing in their lifes. favorite episode: aftermath. i wouldnt say this show is better than clone wars or 3rd and 4th season of rebels, but its on the ,,1st and 2nd season of rebels" level. fun episodes of unique crew fighting the emipire. 7,9/10

Like calm down they were in one episode of BB. That doesn’t mean that the show suffered because of it. Also we just need to give the show some time. Both Rebels and Clone Wars started off slow. Like, they're always talking about how much of sucks that they lost Crosshair but from the moment we first meet him in the Clone Wars he's a massive jackhole and is never shown to be anything else. Like, I genuinely do not care about Crosshair turning evil because I do not care about Crosshair. It would have been better if he hadn't gone bad so they could take time to develop him beyond just being a jerk and then if they really have to have him turn it could be at the end of the season where we've learned to like him and now his turning actually hurts.

I wholeheartedly agree about this. But I also have this thought process in the back of my head as well.
Clone Wars season 1 was fine (Not as epic as the later seasons, but definitely fine)
Rebels Season 1 was eh... Okay (Later seasons getting REALLY good)
Resistance season 1 was... well, pretty bad (Season 2, not THAT bad, but still not good)
Mandalorian season 1 was pretty good (Season 2 was even better)
What I am getting at here is that there is a familiar pattern with all of these shows. Season 1 is not the best of the entire franchise. It gets better every single season.
And I believe the Bad Batch will be the same too. Dave Filoni and the boys KNOWS how to make a series get better. Clone Wars and Rebels are testaments to this.

I really feel like omega should be more than just a random, different clone, eventhouh i think we will get more information on her, but what we got until now, is not really much. Tbh, i thought from episode 1 on, that omega would be sensitive to the force, not like a jedi, but a tiny bit, i thought she was some experiment in that direction, since we all know that palpatine got recreated.

As a monarchist and enemy of republican tyranny, I found the episode on Raxus to be the most interesting, and loved Senator Avi Singh. I feel like he could one day lead a real Confederacy of Independent Systems (free of Sith influence and corporate greed this time), and I hope one day he meets up with General Kalani; the two of them are like the last leaders the CIS has that we know of.
Senator Singh reminds me of me; traditionalist, enemy of republican or self-proclaimed authoritarian tyranny, he even has friendly mutton-chops and wears a monocle, just like me!
I also enjoyed seeing more of the Tactical droids in that episode as they were very neat and highly underused; if the Martez sisters hadn't been included that episode would've been a 10 for me just to see what happened to all the droids after Order 66. I wish we'd gotten there sooner though and seen more than just 1 Tactical droid, and I wish we'd been able to see it fully functional.
