The reason he appears as a man is because representation and image bearing is a masculine function. Other aspects of God, e.g his Glory, wisdom are represented as feminine. The feminine is hidden and mysterious. It is always veiled. God is not a man nor is he a woman. Its the same as what you see in the genealogies or church leadership or whatever. The face of the families, institution, diety, marriage is the masculine (man).

I feel that presenting God as male, with no reference to the feminine aspect, drove a lot of women away from Christianity. I believe this happened to my mother and it happened to me. Now we have more and more young women becoming witches. I fear for today's culture. We need to bring God back for the children. We NEED to be clear that the divine is both masculine and feminine. And stop cherry picking verses to condemn homosexuals. There are lots of 'sins' so stop it. I am a deep thinker and I think outside the box. I also have strong morals due to I believe our basic biological nature. Some guidelines however are helpful for many and I really do fear for what as become of our society. Please bring the feminine back to Christianity. Don't hide it, make it clear.
