    At 24, God is pulling me from a life of debauchery and homosexuality and so now, being at a place with no father and a distant mother, I’m really having to teach myself-letting God teach me the definition of true masculinity. I seek mentors and men of God and they are here and there to find. But this teaching truly blessed me Pastor Washer. Thank you.

      @@yourdarling616 i hear ya ma man. There is a new (new to me) wave of masculinity that is Godless and is self idolization (aka the Tate bros) that needs to be counter balanced with biblical masculinity. Im taking steps in life right now to be physically, mentally, spiritually stronger. I'm doing what i can, with what God has given me. Um no! If anything it's women who are self absorbed. I can't tell you how many times I have tried going out on dates with women. I tried my hardest to get to know them, to find anything that we have in common. I did everything in my power to put her first and all she would do is act bored. I wasn't trying to get into her pants. I actually didn't have ulterior motives. I just wanted to have a pleasant meal with the lady in question. I had to drag every word out of her! American women are so entitled. I can't tell you how sick of the culture I am.
      As a man, I continuously am lectured to about what I need to bring to the table, about how I need to do this or that. What about the woman? What does she need to bring to the table?
      I get to work my ass off to provide for s woman. Then when she gets bored of me she discards me like trash. Worse yet is she takes the kids. She also takes the house and most of my assets. Then I get to start over again broke and alone. The minute she finds a guy she is serious about, she immediately will push to erase me from my children's lives. As men we are nothing more than sperm donors and ATM machines for women.
      And society wonders why men are avoiding marriage?! Maybe, just maybe there are now roughly 3 generations of men who have seen their fathers, brothers, cousins and friends worked over in court.
      My biological father was a drug addict, womanizing, alcoholic lowlife. It was good that the courts sided with my mother and kept him away from us, but what about the other 97% or so of kids who do have good dads?

      I was watching that at home by myself and I clapped when he said that because God has recently called me to expand my concept of love as a single. He did not disappoint when I finally said yes. I found a wonderful woman of God who wanted same things: authentic Godly partner, family and unity but here was the catch: God had just called her to a six month sabbatical from dating and here I was excited and ready. Love waits and so I decided to find out what that is and it is every bit giving love away. So I realized the road ahead was to partner with her as a friend on this sabbatical and support her freely without expectation of return. This is the mission, to love sacrificially and trust God through it all. Brothers it is not easy because I was self absorbed to some degree. I have let it go so that I could be the man God has called me to be. It is a daily fight but God is faithful to finish what he has started. Pray for me please that Christ would be glorified. Thanks

      Remember the Sabbath (As God says in the fourth commandment), my brothers and sisters.
      Hebrews 4:8-10 KJV
      8 For If Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterword spoken of another DAY.
      9 There remaineth therefore a REST (rest translated to the original scripture is SABBATH) to the people of God.
      10 For he that is entered into his rest (sabbath), he also hath ceased from his works like God did.
      The coming mark of the beast (beast means kingdom, see Daniel 7:23) will be the international sunday law and it will come in the form of climate sunday. The mark of God is the Sabbath. Emperor Constantine converted to christianity in 321 a.d. but he didnt want to let his old self die. He changed pagan holidays to christian ones like christmas for example which is the pagan holiday ‘saturnalia’ where they sacrificed children to saturn (satan). The Messiah was 33 when he died at the cross around the first week of april and he was 34 when he made his ascension, some weeks later, how can His date of birth be in december?
      The catholic church followed in the footsteps of Constantine, because emperor Justinianus empowered Vigilius to become the first leader (pope) of the whole christian world in 538 a.d. They changed the restday from saturday to sunday and some centuries later pope Gregorius even changed the names and sequence of the days and sequence of the months in the calender that we follow now, the gregorian calender, named after him. For example december is named after the Latin word deca = 10. November comes from novum = 9. October comes from octa = 8. September comes from septa = 7. The original seventh day is the saturday. In some languages such as Spanish, Italian and Portugese, saturday is still named SABADO/SABATO.
      God bless.

      You are making a BIG mistake by sending this video to your sons.
      As a Christian man who was abused by his wife and daughters to the point of suicide, I'm so sick and tired of listening to crap like this from a weak man of character misrepresenting Jesus Christ with his own view of masculinity with no reference to the responsibilities and accountabilities of a wife.
      No man should sacrifice and put his life on the line for abusive women and children who believe the nonsense this idiot is saying.
      This is exactly why women have little thanks and appreciation for the sacrifices men make for their wives and children because they believe idiots like this and develop an entitlement mentality as a result.
      This too is also exactly how female abuse becomes NORMALISED in families. The typical repertoire of female abuses such as mental and emotional abuse, financial abuse, verbal abuse and physical abuse all become NORMALISED in women by weak men like this effectively becoming cheer leaders for feminists to abuse their husbands under the false teaching of husbands being "sacrificial lambs". What utter crap, false teaching and no balancing of the the roles and accountabilities of a wife.
      Men, go to the scriptures and seek out the teaching of John MacArthur. Masculinity is not defined by women.

    • @SV-ed4qn
      @SV-ed4qn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@JohnSmith-zo6ir You misunderstand Paul Washer here. John MacArthur would no problem with what was said here. Men are supposed to model Jesus and be sacrificial. Ephesians 5 clearly says husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. Sacrifice.
      John, do not let bitterness cloud your thinking. I agree 100% women should be held accountable and yes both men and women need to know their roles. But teachings like this aren’t saying to put up with abuse. Your taking Paul’s words here and turning it into “let women walk all over you because that’s what sacrifice is” when that is not it at all. Paul Washer is not a weak man and simply would not put up with the abuse. Of course, situations are always more complex (as I’m sure yours is) than that and I don’t want to oversimplify a complex problem. But have some accountability for yourself too. You can still be a man that lives sacrificially, while also having boundaries for how you are treated.

      We literally have to always say no to ourselves. Heavy is our burden. But this is meant to be good news. When we say no to ourselves, our selfish desires have no power over us, and we become and do what God does for us - we serve, we love, we make life better for everyone. When we pursue our own selfishness, ultimately all we end up doing is destroying either ourselves or others in the process whether we realize it or not. Selfless service is God's way of protecting us, forcing us to trust him, and being the greatest blessing we can be to others.

Don't think your successes mean nothing, because everything you do right affects all the rest of us in a positive way. And if you fall, know that we've fallen there also. And we're still standing, and working, and still going. The work is never done until Jesus gets back. And that's not a bad thing. biblical manhood ???
      I see things different
      *(let me attach you sir, my point if being Biblical, here):*
      nice explained.
      There are also a few verses we should watch better as we can;
      for example Ephesians, Chapter 5 verse 32...
      in this verse i see that in the whole context Ap. Paul teached us that there is NOT about the Man and his wifes, but about Christ and The Church(there is a hidden secret Ap.Paul explains!); i mean, in the book of revelation Chist apear walking between 7 Churchees, and there are also 7 angels of those churches... that means there are many, not just one(and Ap.John did not understand this secret, first)!
      If a man has more then a single wife, *He cannot sacriffice himself JUST for One, but for all!*
      In Isaiah chapter 3 is about the same situation: *the daughters (plural!) of Sion* are emancipated, and God wish to have us humbled !
      Is a nice try to give us the example of Jessus Christ (from Ephesians Chapter 5)... but *Jessus was not married!* He hadth no wife/s to sacriffice for his familly !
      *(and when His disciples in Mathew 19 said that is better for a man to remain alone / single, Jessus did NOT contradict them, but agreed with 👍 !)*
      And Ap Paul, Timothy, Titus, Elijah, Daniel, and soo many other man of God remained allone...
      *(do we walk on their food steps?)*
      Let me tell you something moore:
      *Read Isaiah chapter 4 verse 1* and understand where goes this day's the familly, because of woman's emancipation !
      *(Paul Washer did not continued the ideea from Isaiah chapter 3, but reading the first verse from chapter 4 you will understand that is from the same context!)*
      We are not Jessus Christ to die, for others may live! *Someone allready did that for all humanity, and He was PURE !*
      We do not need to die for our family to redeem them, because there was Jessus the *(ONLY)* whorty Lamb of God!
      I'f a wife goes sexy on the streets wearing man's clothings, and someone rape her, is the job of her's husband to get there with a gun dying for "her's name" ?
      *Actually, the Bible teach us something else !*
      Remember the 10 wifes King David left behind to take care for the house; they were raped by Absalom, and what was happening with them, later? *Did King David died for them?*
      We do not preach the Biblical Truth, i'f we are NOT seeing the whole picture!
      I verily like the works of P. W. but i must disagree him because he is not Christ, but JUST living A PART of Christ.
      *Just imagine* God did NOT hadth the REDEMPTION PLAN *(in Christ - as Ap. Paul teaches)* from the verry begining, before He started creating the world... just *imagine* that He was willing to create strong, unfallen humans to became other kind of angels, to fullfil His Kingdom... imagine He create Adam multiple wifes, *7, for example!*
      What i'f Eve was still wishing *to be like God,* listening to the Old serpent... *how was Adam acting in this situation..?*
      Because Adam was NOT THERE while Eve was speaking with the Old serpent... she dissobey ; and the Lord of the WHOLE World because was NOT THERE (at the door) for his dissobediant wife, he felt for her and died, together with the who'll world !!!
      Yes, was LOVE...
      but *because of this "Love", P. W. preaches,* the first and strongest Man, did felt and died ! He choosed to turn his back to his Father for a single but beautiful woman!
      *(i heard to be called "Honey trap!")*
      *No, my brethrens!!!*
      I don't wanna be a victim anymore!
      When we are trying to have this *("so called") RIGHTEOUSNESS* we will fall like other *Great man of God* : King David felt for Bat-Sheba, and Solomon was bounded by ..?
      *(too many wifes???)* NO ! by love!
      There is a great name of our day's too:
      Ravi Zacharias! *Just imagine, Ravi was understanding the context of Isaiah 4:1 as it is written... imagine he was treaten this "love" as a Poligin of the Bible : *Just imagine Ravi was like Mozes* , in the book of Numbers, chapter 12, When Miriam(Moses sister) turned into a leprous woman for a week *(because disagreeing poliginy!)*
      ... what do you think, Ravi hadth a chance ?
      *Wake up, christians around the World!* Is time to get away from any kind of religiousness! *Be and live Biblical(acording to the Scriptures!)*
      There are many examples of disciples and other great Man of God remaining allone or being poligin!
      Don't sacriffice your life or future familly for a woman *(who may be jessebelic as Miriam was!!!)*
      Ap. Paul teaches in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 *how to be A LEADER of the church (a Presbiter, Diacon, or Bishop)* , but not all Men of God were leaders of the church, and *also we do know that Ap. Paul get inspired from the Law o God (Deuteronomy 17:17)* Just read the context carefully and understand *why is that Law for the Kings there?*
      Why should a a Leader DO NOT have (too) Many wifes??? There is an answer, Ap. Paul use in the Timothy and Titus context, tooken from the Law, from here!
      *But, i'f a Man is NOT a King, Bishop, Presbiter or Diacon, and still have several wifes He does not commit adultery or other sins !*
      Does your church teach you that???
      *What bible do you read???*
      this is a *"Wake up" call* Be a Man in your family, *as it is written!*
      Amen ?!
      *May the Peace of the Son be uppon the Sons of Peace and over their hones!*
      Amen .

    Not too long ago, I had a conversation with a Christian couple (mainly the wife) who argued that gender roles in marriage are fluid. I brought up all the examples Paul Washer mentioned in this video. Their response was that a woman can do the same things- such as being strong and providing for the family. I think some in the church have adopted so much of feminism and worldly ideology.
    It's not about whether or not women can handle themselves or be strong, it's about who's ROLE is it to primarily lead, take charge, protect and provide. It is the man's role. PERIOD. This, of course, has to be filtered through the love Christ has for the church. The fact that this is such a controversial topic speaks volumes.

    • @josephsadarministries2334
      @josephsadarministries2334 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Richard Fox If you're a Biblical person, you'd adhere to this. Gender roles are not fluid, period. Like I said, we've gotten so caught up in nuance and feminism that we think traditional masculinity and femininity is the problem. It's not.

    • @josephsadarministries2334
      @josephsadarministries2334 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Richard Fox We can agree to disagree, but I will tell you that the rise of feminism started for a noble cause: to get women equal rights as men. Third wave feminism essentially diminishes men and postulates the idea that women should fill men's role, which is not true. Single mothers are constantly hard-pressed trying to carry on both roles. Masculinity is not a bad thing. I'm willing to bet that if a burglar broke into your house, you wouldn't expect your wife to take care of the intruder. You would take care of it. That's an objective example of a man's role and masculinity. Again, I think Paul Washer does a great job in this video.

    • @josephsadarministries2334
      @josephsadarministries2334 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Richard Fox I agree that women can be very successful police officers, soldiers or doctors. I also agree that men can be successful nurses, flower arrangers, or care workers. I never argued against that.
      The point I made is that roles in a God-ordained marriage are not gender fluid- which is Biblical. I also proved this with my example of single mothers. There are clearly different roles the father and mother play. They are not interchangeable. The moment one attempts to carry both masculine and feminine roles, it can become detrimental. Also, just by the scientific fact that men are generally built with thicker bones, higher testosterone, and more muscle mass than women makes men more fit for certain roles. God made Adam and Eve differently for a reason. And there's nothing misogynistic about that. It's just the way it is.
      Yes, there are exceptions, not all men are the same. The same goes for women. But God raised up the man to be the leader and the head/covering over the woman in marriage. You can take that up with God.
      Also, I think I made my point with the burglar analogy. It's one thing if a woman lives alone, but if a burglar breaks into a married couples home, it is the man's role to protect his family and to lead them to safety, period. I know people who have expressed the same things you've said, but then reality hit them the moment a burglar broke into their house. All of a sudden, the very independent woman hid under the bedsheets while the man took care of it. In that moment, it's about who's ROLE it is to handle the burglar downstairs- who's most likely a man. It's about who's role it is to lead the charge. It's not about theory or nuance in that moment.
      I think we both could agree that you would not send your wife to take care of the burglar. Most likely, you'd tell your wife to call 911 while you dealt with the burglar. And that's also my point regarding gender roles. It's not about occupation, but the role instead. The last thing I'll say is that women generally do not seek out a man to take care of the man. They don't initially seek to put a roof over a man's head. It's generally the other way around. And that's for a reason. Gender roles are not oppressive, but I believe it's a part of the ensemble harmony between men and women. It's a part of what makes us different. We are different, and that's okay.

    How does this video have 9 “dislikes”? Who would dislike this great talk about being a real man! This is the kind of tree I need to sit under every day. I have never had a man, except for my own father, to say STRAIGHT OUT, be a MAN; for your family, for your children, for your children’s children.
    Thank you for making this video.

    I’m genuinely in tears. I came into this expecting “men should dominate their wife, wives owe men this, this, and this. They should beat their children if they misbehave. They should be served by their household.” Because that’s what I’ve been taught. It’s what I’ve been raised in and the only people I’ve ever heard say that’s wrong is women, not other men. My father has done some very horrible things to my mother, he is violent and verbally tears her and my brother and I down. Yet when someone breaks in, he hangs back and I- the then seven year old daughter- am the one who defends my mother and brother. I’m just so tired and I have lost so much faith in men as a whole and all I can pray is that someday, God proves me wrong, and that there is a man out there I can trust.

      The Bible is God's loving instruction to man, and woman. Any man who follows God's Word is a real man, and any woman who follows God's Word is a real woman. The modern confusion about gender is a problem for nonbelievers, but this is just one of innumerable things God has saved those who believe in His Son, Jesus, from.

    Part of me feels hopeless because I've never been a physically or emotionally strong dude. Growing up, I was always softspoken and sensitive, and not at all a rough person, and it wasn't instilled in me either. Work in progress, I suppose, but I sometimes wonder if I can live up to any of this...

    Really appreciate Paul's heart and teaching on this. The 2 examples he gave of biblical manhood were 1. to follow the example of Jesus and 2. to live with sacrificial love, predominantly with a focus on the wife and kids, but also for others. However, these 2 ideas of being like Jesus and having sacrificial love can be applied to women as well. Matthew 10 and Luke 9 (and countless other verses) speak of sacrificial love for others as a disciple of Jesus, regardless of gender. Would you say there is a spectrum of sacrificial love and men are called towards a greater degree on average: in general? just to their families?

      I totally agree that sacrificial love is a character trait of Christ's followers regardless of Gender. However, specific emphasis on sacrificial love is given to men(husbands) in Ephesians 5:25ff. Why would God specifically put an emphasis on the sacrificial love husbands are to display if it were not related to gender? My opinion is all of God's people are called to be loving and self-sacrificjng, but especially men, in particular husbands as they serve as an example and picture of Christ.

    • @SeeSawMassacre
      @SeeSawMassacre 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where is everybody getting the idea of "sacrificial love" from? It's written in the book of Hebrews that God "does away with the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified."
      It seems to me that calling your own service and deeds sacrifice is inaccurate, and not in keeping with God's Word and Spirit. For instance, where it's written: "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." To give and to serve others is a blessing, not a sacrifice.

    There is one thing where I’m not sure what to expect as a christian woman. It is, that I very much need to feel protected by my partner, but at the same time Jesus was never violent, he turned the other cheek… so what should I look for and expect from a christian man, me being a christian woman wanting to establish the best possible christian family.
    Thank you for touching on this subject, I appreciate it a lot.

    Great stuff Jonny. When do you think you’ll have your dad on the show? I’d like to see that.
    When I was born again, he was the first person I knew to turn to for good preaching. He helped me out a lot at that time, and I was just watching the livestream of his church.
    I don’t know if there’s any good way for me to thank him. Maybe you can pass the word to him.
