- In this video, I will be going over the style of the four main characters of Sex & The City in relation to the feminine archetypes. Each character has their own unique, eyecatching style and personality, but their relationship to their image differs greatly. Their images in unison create the girl group that has grown to be beloved in both media and culture, which begs the question: What is the meaning behind their looks?

The women actually represent the different classes:
Charlotte = old money, upper class and traditional
Samantha = the under dog, new money
Miranda = the educated middle class
Carrie = working class
Interesting take! Really, Miranda and Charlotte are college educated, and it's implied that Carrie and Samantha are not.

Oh, I HATED 'And Just Like That." Yuck..No Samantha, not to mention ruining Miranda's whole character. I always disliked Carrie being so needy with common sense at all. Boy, that show to me destroyed what made SATC great in the first place.

Samantha is the woman you wish you were, Miranda is all the insecurities you have, Carrie is the best version of yourself and Charlotte is the fairy tale dreams we had as little girls

From the four fashion aesthetics, I am a mix of Carrie and Miranda but nothing similar to their personalities, without the fashion brands and budget to spend a lot and have their lifestyles and I dont live on NY😭

I think the women represent the four seasons. Carrie is Spring, Charlotte is Summer, Miranda is Autumn and Samantha is Winter,
Nice! Sam is Hot and sweltering like summer. Charlotte is winter, concealed and cozy, definitely winter.
Ashley Williams Miranda would for sure be winter. Slightly bitter and cold.
Carrie is Spring new style all the time, fun loving like Summer, always changing like leaves of Autumn and after a breakup is like winter feeling cold and alone. Samantha is hot like Summer, fresh with ideas like Spring, always changing her sexual partners like Autumn and can be icy to men that hurt her, Winter. Charlotte is fresh and sweet like Spring pink lemonade, her heart burns bright like Summer sun, she changes her mindset later like Autumn weather and can be cold and riged about her ideas like Winter. Miranda has a firey temper like Summer heat, can be frosty and distance with men like Winter, then can be playful and joyful like Spring and she has a warm cozy feeling about her when you get to know her like Autumn.

Miranda is underrated. Can’t believe what they’ve done to her character in the reboot! In real life, Miranda would be doing great things in human rights law while continuing to enjoy her marriage-which in the series was established as happy and passionate.

I love Carrie’s style the most because you never really know what she’s gonna wear next unless you’ve scene the show so many times you’ve memorized all her outfits. The other girls with their more stable sense of self tend wear similar things a lot of time it’s much more notable when they wear something out of character. Even though it’s a flaw of Carrie’s to have such an unstable sense of self and gets so wrapped on other people that her style changes, it definitely makes the show more fun to watch. All the women wear designer clothes and put together their outfits extremely well though, so they’re all fashionable in their own right, for sure!
I like Charlotte's style, although too traditional, I like Samantha's personality (less the promiscuity and her colorful way to speak) but she works hard to have her own money and doesn't depend on anybody.
Charlotte thinks that a woman depends on men, probably the key to success, is what they want according to her (I like her clothes, hair, and manners but that way of thinking is too much for me, going the other way too much F%&K not so much either)

Both Carrie and Charlotte are money hungry women, needing to marry rich in order to inherit fortunes..Look at the way that Big treated Carrie through the series,, stringing her along like a yo yo yet she still persisted with him because people of the payoff..This really stuck with me especially with their wedding, where Big wanted low key but Carrie wanted to spend up big time, pardon the pun..Granted they both found happiness together but not before ruining Bigs marriage to Natasha and Carrie & Aidans engagement…
Charlotte although not being a cheater, was still money hungry beginning with Trey and then moving on to Harry in one swift swoop..
Samantha I loved because she was very independent in every way, both financially and in romance..
Miranda more or less the same as Samantha although obviously not as promiscuous as Samantha but she was independent in her own right..
My opinions have nothing to do with their fashion sense as obviously Carrie took it first place with being the trend setter followed by Samantha,,
I loved the original series in whole,, didn’t care too much for the two movies and the spin off and Just Like That was absolutely terrible with all its complimentary cheesy inclusions of all sexes, genders and races..
Charlotte had her own money she work at an art gallery and also came from a wealthy family. She also didn't start seeing Harry for long time after the divorce with Trey she didn't have sex for 6 month. Carrie is writer making her own money and when her book came out she made even more money. One time Carrie ask Big for help for her apartment and she ripe up the check he gave her and it was Charlotte that gave Carrie the money. All of the women are wealthy and have their own money.

Working in a Art Gallery and owning the Art Gallery are two different things..lm not saying she was poor but certainly didn’t have the money that Trey and his mother had,,
She didn’t own her apartment prior to meeting Trey..

She was a writer for a newspaper column,, you don’t get too rich from that ,,
She bought her apartment with Aidan and when they broke up she didn’t have money to buy it back,,
There was the episode where the girls told l her that her closet was where all her money went..
She Married Big and hit the jackpot,, lm not saying she only married him for money but she stuck by him after all the crap he put her through,, including getting married to Natasha!!
Then from Aidan she met Aleksandr Petrovsky. Who coincidentally had a ton of money as well,,
