    G'day guys.
    I had a bit of a laugh at what you said about the Teflon tape, as I thought I was the only one who did that.
    Once I have a good clean out and get organised, I'll have enough stored in a box to supply half of this state. 😁
    Yeah.... I agree that the one on the right needed adjusting. 😁
    All the best,
    Daz.

    My husband needs to do this for my chicken babies.

    • @TheLaLaFarm
      @TheLaLaFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for stopping by and watching Gail. I would not recommend this waterer for baby chicks because the water is too deep. About 3 years ago, I used an adult chicken waterer for a new batch of about fifty - day old chicks. I went out the next morning and 45 of them had drowned in the waterer which is only about an inch deep. I would only use a designated chick waterer for about the first 30 days, which has a very narrow watering trough - only about 1/2". You have to fill them more often, but the chicks cant drown. Our adults use these automatic waterers every day when out and about in the barn yard. - Rick

    The adjustment knob can be removed and inserted from the other side so you can input the water from the right or the left.

    How does it hold up wintertime?

  • @chrispope5147
    @chrispope5147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We are in the desert. Our issue is algae growth. When ambient Low temp is 89F and High temp is 118F, the water is going to be warm. Anything with water is going to need to be cleaned at least once a week, I feel I would need to add a drain to help with easy cleaning. What is your opinion? Have you had algae? We have this problem with all our waters, the chicken waterer, the chicken pool, the dog pool, the rabbit waterer.

    • @TheLaLaFarm
      @TheLaLaFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed!!! With that particular waterer, our biggest issue is algae. Ours get washed about 2 times per week with bleach. The hot Florida kicks the algae right off again. It's just part of the process of maintenance. We put a different in a couple of weeks ago to test on the goats and they want nothing to do with it because it hisses as it fills and it just pushes them away. This HiCamer waterer is the best we have found so far, but algae is its cryptonite. We keep looking for a better one. - Rick

    I do not recommend this waterers inside stalls for horses they tend to play with. Then and then you have a big mess to deal with. Following morning.
