I've owned my 2001 Boxster for 10 years now and it's actually been quite reliable and cheap to own. Other than regular maintenance it's only required an ignition cylinder replacement and a water pump (which is really a maintenance item as well). That is a nice colour combo I haven't often seen!
Owned a 2002 Boxster (80,000 m), bought used for $10K. 2 years later it was on its last wheel so I bought a 2008 Boxster RS 60. Love it more than the day I bought it. Great choice!
Great video on a car that is getting more and more recognition. Love my 1998 Boxster. I see that you don’t need to perform the Boxster chop on the plastic window like I have to do when lowering the top!
Thank you so much! The plastic window cooperated while filming, but sometimes I need to resort to the Boxster chop! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Algorithm bring me to your channel And like others in-state is very classy plus informative Your voice is very ASMR like which make the video very relaxed and enjoyable 😎
orient red matallic is a beautiful colour i’ve not seen before. Thats a lovely motor. ❤. Noticed that you haven’t got any sill kickplates. would be a lovely finishing touch
@@AttainableLuxury-vv2xq Thank You! Ditto! You have a wonderful looking ride! I am getting to like the looks of the hard top...When you put it on, you leave it on for the winter months? I live in Sunny FL. My AC gets used more than the top down, but when it's cool out, or a nice summer night , it's nice topless. Again, Thank You!! 😀⛱️👍 Subbed
You don't need all the bells and whistles when you have the naturally aspirated legendary flat six boxer engine behind you. Just a pity about those bumper things you have next to the number plate, thankfully we don't have them in Europe. Timeless classic.
How much was that hard top and is it an after market one? Only complaint about your car that I have is a 5 speed manual and what a difference in driving experience, just an opinion.Beautiful color mine is speed yellow 2000 2.7 Looking forward to your other videos.
Hello! The hard top is factory. It’s original to the car. If I could drive a manual I would have probably gone that route. I bet that yellow is stunning. It’s also unique, I don’t see it that often. I appreciate your watching and commenting!
The original owner paid for the optional Xenon headlights as well as the hardtop...those are huge factory upgrades which are even more expensive after the fact. When people ask me what kind of mileage I get with mine I tell them Porsche does things differently...it's not miles per gallon it's smiles per gallon...😎
Also these cars need top tier gas with octane of 93 or above, my suggestion is only use Shell V-Power Nitro+ gas. The M96 engines are not know for fuel economy. These car are meant to be driven with spirt, holding gears till 6k or more rpm.
Porsche is not a luxury brand. Some models have luxury prices but most of them depreciate fast allowing many people of lesser means to obtain one. A boxster is not a real porsche nor is it luxury. It is definitely attainable however.
This is a driving coffin! In case of crash you get smashed! Buy a bull car like a dodge or cadillac or chevrolet! If you don't know ask Arnold Swarzenegger! 😂😂😂
The vehicles that crush smaller cars the big ones driving inattentively or aggressively. If I see a white pick-up I stay clear. Those drivers are on a mission to ride up my tailpipe.

That’s great to know it’s been reliable. Hoping the same thing with mine. Appreciate the support!
A charming, elegant and erudite presentation. As a fellow model owner, you reveal a real appreciation for what the 986 has to offer - thank you.
Thank you so much for the compliment! Glad you enjoyed the video. It’s a great car and as I’m sure you’ve experienced, it’s so much fun to drive!

Good for you! Bet that looks sharp 😎. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Your paint looks great. Shows the build quality.
Thanks 👍 These cars were built to last!
This was a very classy and informative auto review. You are very well-spoken and should do more reviews!
Thank you! I'm working on some new material now and hope to post a new video this weekend.
I'm so happy to have one, love this car
Agreed! Enjoy!
Loved this...well done. Thank you for the information!
Sure thing! Thank you 😊

excellent start for a channel, love my tiptronic also
Thank you so much! Hope to have new content uploaded soon.
I used to own an Orient Red Metallic Boxster. The color looked great in the sun showing off the metal flake. It also had the color keyed roll bar.
It’s a beautiful color and unique. Bet the keyed roll bars in that color looked awesome!
You will definitely want to do the Boxster chop when you lower that plastic window, to avoid further cracks.
For sure! Thank you for the advice.
These are amazing cars, and they handle so well. Love the colour and it is in amazing condition. Much better than mine! 🤣
Thank you! Yes, I agree they are amazing cars. I am looking forward to Spring when I can drive it again.
Very nice ❤
Thank you! 😊
Very spiffy; love the color
Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, I love the color too. I’ll have to check out sill kickplates😊
Nice car. They are very easy to enjoy.
Thank you! Yes they are!
How many miles on Boxster when purchased ? Thanks Nice presentation !
Thank you! 108k miles when purchased.
Une des meilleures auto construite par Porsche, the boxster.
I agree! Thanks for watching.
I've owned my O2 986 for 10 years
Still love it
Although every 3-4 years you have to be ready to throw some cash at it!!
Very true! I’ve had to put some money into mine also. Enjoy your 986!

I love Florida! Lucky you. Great place to own a 986.
I have a question. At 3:12 of the video you reclosed the latch. Why did you do that?
The hook will dig into the fabric if you don’t re-close the latch.

Love it . I got 986 silver 49k miles. For sale $13k
Thank you! ☺️
Show me your car please. I may purchase it.
Great review. Where could one get a hard top?
Thank you! You may want to check eBay for a hardtop. There's also a Delaware Porsche Parts that sells hardtops for a 2005 - 2012 Boxster.
I loved my Boxster with the top down, but not so much with the top up.
Definitely a totally different driving experience. I do like the hard top though.

what brand are the cameras
The camera is a Sony alpha 6400.
Your channel ???
Way better with the hard top
I love the hard top too. It really changes the look of the car in a good way. Thanks for watching!
Very versatile in that respect. ....
American cliches ?
Not versatile at all.
Marry me?
Trust me you’ve been spared. I drive my husband crazy!
Watchout for IMS failures and Bore Scoring yall.. get a PPI from a reputable Porsche independent mechanic
Good point. Yes, unfortunately the potential for IMS failure is real. I plan on addressing the IMS bearing in the Spring as a proactive measure.
@@AttainableLuxury-vv2xq Right on! yea, gotta be proactive with German cars.
