Thank you so much for making this video and including the before and after ride portions. I had the same noise. I did your fix and voila no more clankity clank sound. Sounds like a Porsche should. Again, thank you for taking the time to make and post this video.
Just FYI, you want to put anti-seize on those bolts. That’s what the blue residue is. And as someone else mentioned, everything needs to be torqued down at normal ride height.
You might want to check with the factory service manual - most suspension components with a rubber bushing (like the front end of the control arms you replaced) should have the bushing hardware tightened with the suspension loaded and at normal ride height, otherwise the bushing is going to be twisted at all times and will fail prematurely.
Thanks for posting this. I think I have the same problem. I will be putting this on my project list. I may wait until my neighbor returns from vacation - I may need his help to torque the bolts on the "tuning forks."
On my Boxster, the noise emanated from the lower control arms. I would have replace all rubber components that are associated with the long tuning fork. So what you did for issue with the drop link bolt was to raise the suspension from the lower control arm? Always good to inform your viewers with what you did to remedy the issue.
Great video guys, One thing to mention on safety ,take off all rings ,wear black latex gloves and a pair of clear safety glasses😊 How many miles you have on your car when you noticed that and did it improve the ride besides the noise.

I have the same problem that sounds like an aluminum cookie tray rattling around...thanks to you it's not cookies but something else!
Haha! Fortunately it’s a doable fix. Not as easy as baking cookies though… ☺️
Great video guys,

Thank you! The car has 113k miles. I noticed the noise about 1,000 miles ago. The ride has definitely improved.
Definitely need to get a good floor matt. Also a great video.
Thank you! 😊
Brilliant! THANK YOU!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!
Great video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you ma’am.
Sure thing 👍🏼. Thanks for watching.
Looking at how much the bushes moved on the coffin arms when replacing the tuning fork bolts, I’d change them too
I’ll add that to the list. Thank you!
How did you do that without getting your hands dirty?
Lots of clean rags in the ready! Lol 😊
you might also want to replace the sway bar bushing, cheap and easy to install. I replacement on all the cars every time I replace the links
I appreciate the suggestion! Thanks for watching.
Sway bar drop links

as usual, awesome video!
