Beautiful, inspired playing here, as ALWAYS. Thank you. Little known trivia: There were 643 Les Pauls manufactured in 1959; only 1,369 currently exist today! 🤣
The reason for this is luthiers like Kris Derrig, who bulit Slash's "Appetite For Destruction" Les Paul. It was built by a great Luthier, using parts from real 50's Gibsons, including pots, pickups, plastic parts, capacitors, etc. and also were built with the right materials (Honduran mahogany, Canadian Maple, Brazilian rosewood) and glue. These luthiers also took care to replicate even the tiniest details, Something Gibson reissues didn't bother with until the mid '00's (hideglue instead of tightbond, the exact era-correct shape of the headstock and logo, tortoise shell side dots, instead of black plastic, etc). It's no wonder even the experts have a hard time telling them apart
@@wilhelmtheconquerer6214 I don't think a building made 20 years ago out of 10,000 year old granite means it's a 10,000 year old building. No matter how much copium anyone smokes
Most ppl including the most popular youtube artists can't even come close to the tone Chris puts out here. Fingers, authentic original 59 and a vintage Marshall. Amazing
Jam from 4:25 embodies everything I love about the Les Paul & Marshall sound. Chris your playing is outstanding, and you have tone unique and unmistakeable.
There's something truly sublime about Buck's unique, melodic, modern sound when playing through such a classic, vintage rig. Just amazing. After the intro I thought that was the best tone Buck ever had, but I should have waited. That outro was just fantastic.
Damn that solo at the beginning was astonishingly powerful! People say rock is dying or dead already, but with young people like Chris Buck beaming talent and love for the guitar, I think there's still hoping guitar will get back to the hot spot in popular music in our life times.
The people have no say what is broadcast on the airwaves. You'd have to take control of those corporations and regulatory agencies first. Which is the same as taking control of banking, education, military manufacturing, and other institutions. You'll get nothing but Cardi B and Bruno Mars and you'll like it.
@@stringtheoryguitars4952 I don't like the music from Bruno Mars at all, but this guy is a serious talented musician. He writes all of his song by himself and can play many different kind of instruments. Even his songs are quite complex for modern pop music
The Holy Grail 'A '59 Les Paul and a Marshall. Sounds incredible with your fantastic playing. A dream scenario for 99 percent of players out there. Thx for a great demo. As always, keep the great work 🎸
Thanks Chris for the accurate Marshall info and your incredible playing as always. The colour of the '59 is just lovely, very rich and warm, great wood. The '45 would be a pretty rare beast too being a PA head, it does sound amazing and in such great nick. Cheers, Steve.
This might be the best I've seen you play. You have this unique way of moving your body when you play....it is quite frankly..... very moving . It's good to see the Les Paul under the mastery of younger hands while playing more modern music.
Ooft, that tone! That Les Paul into the Marshall sounds incredible in your hands. Thanks Chris, fantastic playing and feel as always..also congratulations on reaching 200,000 subs to your channel..well deserved too. Cheers mate! 🎸🏴
That second jam you did was to date my favorite playing of yours I’ve heard and I really enjoy your playing over all. Your playing reminds me of off high energy, tasty lick playing, high note specialist trumpet plays that can solo. There seems to be some notes and licks that can only come out by putting your body into it
Chris, your playing, guitar tone and the guitar rig is killing!!! Greetings from Bulgaria, from one of your huge fans!!! Be healthy, happy and blessed, and all the people around you too! :-)
An amazing story for both instrument and amplifier! I hope that both go to players who will use, love and respect their rare purchases - and share their delight with us!
Thanks for the gritty yet tasty history lesson, Chris. First I’d ever heard that there was a trade embargo between the US and UK in the rock n roll years! I especially liked the cabinet-mic-mix solo improv at the end. Really felt like I was in the room with you.
Something tells me you have wachted alot of Paul Gilbert. I am amazed how clean your picking style is with that aggresion and passion at the same time.. AWESOME, AWESOME tone Chris (y)
What a great guitar, and fortune to be able to play it in person, and along with that amp. It must be a real treat. Ya know - You sound just like Chris Buck, with that guitar in your hands! Good show.
The fluidity of movement across the guitar is incredible to watch, and the tone that it brings out is unmistakably you. It sounded amazing through my headphones. I can't wait to watch this again, cranked up at home 🙌
Bro, your right hand is so incredible! When you shoot the close up of you playing it almost looks like you edit with stop motion. I don't know how you move so fast and accurate. It's really cool. Thank you for your playing and that gear is top notch!
Chris, I’ve become just as big a fan of Friday Fret works, as I am a Cardinal Black and pretty much all of your playing. I know I could sell my house and almost buy two of those! Well done as always. You are appreciated buddy
Chris … this a compliment.. you sound just as good through a Revstar as this rig. Most well healed buyers of ‘ Bursts want to sound like ‘ol school classic artists. You have your sound.. keep it and have a great career. M
EPIC! Made more so in that the UA OX is in the signal chain. Those of us who own the OX can feel proud that it made the cut into gear nirvana. F______ outstanding!
Amazing final noodling! ❤️👍 You definitely inspire me as a guitar player, and on a regular basis I analyse a solo from you and steal you some little tricks.
Absolutely my style of Playing, Incredible Playing Chris, the Marshall sounded Amazing the, sounded much cleaner, Love hearing you play, you are certainly going to be one of the best players coming into the spotlight, outstanding 🎶🧜♀️🎸 Lisa Einsohn
Great stuff Chris. I just happened to see a video on the history of Marshall amplifiers recently on TH-cam so I am taking it more seriously now (better late than never).
When he switches to the neck pickup at the beginning of that epic ending jam (7:43), all I hear in my head is Jimmy Page on "Since I've Been Loving You." That tone is damn close, which makes a lot of sense, but it just jumped out at me. In fact, there's a ton of Page tone in that particular Les Paul, which isn't always the case with the old 'bursts, especially considering how modified Page's was.
Back in either 77 or 78 there was a band rehearsing across the street from my girlfriends house. We would sit on their porch and listen to them rehearse. I was 15 and it would be a year before I would get my first guitar. One day the bass player showed late and saw us sitting there. He said they knew we were listening ( I was thier paperboy). They invited us down and there were 2 NOT ONE, 2 Marshall SLs sitring there on top of 4X12 cabs. The guitarist had a V and a LP standard ( I think). They went through a set before kicking us but it was a set of Bad Co, Thin Lizzy, Robin Trower and some others ( I think Montrose Motor Scooter was in there too). Between that and VH 1 coming out I never looked back and in the 45 or so years since.... Well, you know how it is...
Beautiful, inspired playing here, as ALWAYS. Thank you.
