    First of all, Grenada was colonized for over 118 years by France from 1649 to 1763 and then again from 1779 to 1783. So, Grenada has a strong French patois language. Grenada exported the Carnival celebration to Trinidad. Jamaica was never colonized by the French, so their patois is based on English and some African. For the same reason Jamaica does not have a carnival. Grenada used to produce over 60 percent of nutmeg spices but now is responsible for only about 20 percent of the world's production. This is due to the impact of several hurricanes wiping out almost the entire crop. Grenada has a very colorful history. Grenada fought against the British during the Fedon Rebelion in 1795 to win its freedom from English slavery but was unsuccessful. Grenada had its first socialist government under Maurice Bishop in 1979. It went on until 1983 when Bishop and most of his cabinet were killed. Grenada was then invaded by the United States in an attempt to put down the Junta that was responsible in Bishop's murder. Grenada fought against the American invasion forces in 1983 but were unsuccessful. The Americans installed an interim government which administered the country until elections were held sometime later. Grenada's Big Drum accompanied with Patois songs which tell of the Grenadian experience through slavery is second to none! Kirani James was a Grenadian who won the island's first gold medal in the 400 meters in 2012. Youtoube.com is replete with videos about Grenada, its history, its culture and current affairs. Just Type "Grenada Archives" to be educated. Type "Carriacou Big Drum" to be enthralled!

    Didn't know Kenyans was so backward, we are very educated in African Studies in Grenada.
    Learn to pronounced the name first is Grenada, not Granada which is in Spain.We are known as the Spice island of the Carribean, not because it is full up of Indian's, because we are the largest producers of nutmeg and mace in the Carribean.The other young man who said its not on his bucket list, if you ever set foot in Grenada you won't want to leave in hurry.
    So my fellow Kenyans get a book of the Carribean islands and educate yourself, we may be a small island in the Caribbean but we are well educated.

    The name is called green nay dah. Granda is in spain.
    Jamaicans re not africns they are Fulanis and so are black Americans
    Grenada are africans unlike the rest of the Caribbean who are indigenous and Creoles.

      @@winstonjohnson9277 dude I am Grenadian and I studied Caribbean history. The blacks of the Caribbean are not Africans. The slaves went to Grenada, Barbados, Brazil and Mexico. And the Gullah geeche people of America. Black Americans are zero Africans. They are Moorish and maroons and black Caribs mixed with indigenous black people. Go do your research and see who they are. We are not Olmecs nor maroons nor black Caribs nor moors nor Taino Arawak. We are Africans the negro and Bantus.

    • @doreenramsey1016
      @doreenramsey1016 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beastkenya you need to google Caribbean by countries and see who they are and learn their individual history. Because we are black does not mean we are one or related. Jamaicans, Haiti and the Caribbean can never trace their DNA back to negro, Bantus or Africans. They came from the invaders of Africa 1000 years ago. We need to stop this lies about Africa and black people.

  • @7urnaboyy

    Interesting perspective.. I didn't know we were white/black people. also if you don't seek you won't find, Jamaica and Haitis population is almost 10x our size - so go figure. Everyone else was great but he was ignorant and got too much time.
