Pretty much, yeah. Most of the gang is more loyal to Arthur than Dutch by the end as it is. Sadie, Tilly, John, Abigail, Grimshaw, Charles are all with him. Mary-Beth would have been. Trelawny only leaves after getting Arthur's blessing, didn't even go to Dutch. Swanson had kind words for Arthur when he left, and called Dutch a mad man. Arthur is the man.

When Jhon and his family are going to Strawberry and Jack tells them the book his reading and says the names, John sais he liked the name of “King Arthur”. I think Jhon thougt the same about being Arthur the real Leader of the gang, or at least he liked that thougt.
I had a conversation with Hosea on my first play through that lead me to believe Hosea would have supported Arthur in leaving or taking over the gang and he would have been right by his side. Can't remember what he said and couldn't trigger it on my second game
The "dutchhh!!" word when arthur said it after "it pains me to say this arthur, but he is right" is the voice of dissapointment, its the voice you would made after being betrayed by your closest friend. This game is a masterpiece.
Tebby Yohannes That bring me a tear to my eye. The absolute betrayal when he tries to get through Dutch felt so real. Was it like twenty or twenty two years or something that he spent with Dutch? Yeah there is no doubt that he felt betrayed by his brother. Honestly, I called bullshit that John Marston was dead because of Micah putting twisted thoughts into Dutch's head. I'm surprised Arthur didn't even question if he was really dead.
I'm glad someone said this. I've raved over that one line delivery for so long now. It's the subtle but very effective cry in his voice that makes all the difference.
I've never seen emotions portrayed so perfectly in a video game. All those little details like Sadie pressing her lips together when Abigails cries or her little nod when Arthur says that Jack is safe ... never been done before. Not this good, at least.

This scene, the farewell with the nun and the thank you to the horse were all moments that made me tear up because they weren’t expected or telegraphed like Arthur’s death. Didn’t expect them and they got to me. Well done, Rockstar.

Most people who just play through the game probaly wonder why the developers made such an emotional goodbye between Arthur and Tilly but people who have listened to every last detail will know that they got tilly when she left foremans Gang at a young age and she grew up like a little sister to arthur and john and was within the first 10 members
Wow this part was emotional to me and I didn't even know that. Game has so many details, I spent so many hours on this game amd I'm sure I missed so much truly a master piece. I believe I have about 200 hours or more which is decent I think.
another small detail, look at Sadie's face when Arthur tells Abigail that John might have been killed, she winces her face slightly before she hugs abigail, she must be having a lot of empathy knowing what's abigail going through... specially since Abigail was the one who comforted her after Jake's death
4:32 I’d love to go back and experience that moment of hearing that line: “Okay, Mr. Milton, I guess we’re gonna have to talk this out like gentlemen.”, seeing Arthur climb down that ladder and start sprinting over to take cover from all the pinkertons while the drums rumbled in the background right before that big shootout of fighting his way to save Abigail and Sadie. I literally got goosebumps and realized how badass of a character Arthur was and how incredible of an act Roger gave to this role. Favorite moment in the whole game for me.

Amazing performance and writing. This game's story is truly a masterpiece.
Roger Clark can really do the act of a desperate man. The way he calls out for Dutch one last time, you can just feel him trying to find some “good” left in Dutch. And it emotionally hurts a bit knowing that Arthur even in his final days/hours is still trying to help others, other than himself.
Roger Clark deserves any award he can get or has already gotten for his performance in this game. Never has a video game character felt so real to me. Not to mention that Rob once again nailed it with John Marston. Great job to the whole team that worked on RDR2.

I won’t lie, first playthrough, I cried when Arthur and Tilly said goodbye. I was so immersed in the game I felt like I was really saying goodbye to a friend. I knew from this point on that the end was very close, and I felt all the rage Arthur felt not only towards Milton, but to Dutch and the gang. The story telling in this game is incredible, and I truly don’t think there has been another game like it.

This is one of those games that 100 years from now people are going to recognize it as a pivotal point in the history of entertainment. It's such a beautiful recreation of that era it might even serve as a historic reference in the future.
Arthur and Micah being on opposite sides of Dutch to represent them as his "angel and devil" was a really nice touch. In that same vain, the fact Arthur gets off his horse and Dutch leaves him behind represents how Dutch has completely abandoned his good for evil.
Saddest part for me what bought tears to my eyes was not the ride back to camp... but when Arthur Gose up to Tilly and throws half the train robbery money on her horse and say's Here you take this Money to what was out of his own pocket and saying go to Copperhead landing!! and wait your a good girl make sure you live a good life now u hear😪 and the part where he leaves sadie and Abigail and Sadie's face at the time l nearly died😭😭
You want a shining moment for the "good guys" even knowing what this will all end with. My favorite parts here were Abigail's shining moments, her essentially playing her part in literally her own rescue by freeing herself and killing Milton, and her ... I guess you could say ambition to act knowing what was inevitably happening to the gang in finding the chest AND more importantly stealing the key to it. Doesn't matter that the best/cannon ending involves not using it in the moment, i still felt it was a moment for her, especially when she said "i always was a good thief." It was a tearful goodbye and spoke to her character.
Anyone else notice that if you play the game with low honor Arthur sounds even more fierce and bad ass when he delivers his "Ride with me" line. In this it's simply straight forward but in low honor he was like "RIDEWITHMEEEEE!"
A good judgment would be if this was the same dutch back when Jack was taken would he had gone halfway across the map.The answer is no dutch has completely changed nobody gets left behind he used to say.
Why would Abigail give Arthur the key? The man is dying of Tuberculosis so what good would it do to him? It's like giving a guy $1 billion on their death bed.

Idk, but the camp was going to become a warzone in the coming minutes, so there is no way in hell Abigail was going back there - especially when she has a kid to take care of. same with sadie, as she'll act as guidance and protection on the ride to copperhead landing.

I think what's sad is that Arthur didn't even try to come up with an argument to why they shouldn't leave Abigail. Arthur hoped that his voice begging for Dutch to reconsider would be enough.
This shootout was the best one in the game for me, performance-wise. All game I had spent honing my skills and generally not doing well with the mechanics, but for whatever reason I aced this one and it made me feel like the most badass gunslinger ever.
2:05 you can hear a man whos lost everything basically, but will not, i repeat will NOT let this boy suffer a life of an orphan like he did, so he asked the only person he could trust (Sadie) to ride with him even if it doomed them both, Sadie couldve said "no" but i know arthur wouldve still gone alone if it called for it, thats why i love this duo together, he helped sadie get her revenge on the man who killed her husband i like to imagine this is her way of repaying him, by saving a childs mama. Makes me tear up 🖤🖤😢
I personally think Abigail and Arthur should've been the star couple. There's chemistry that's sorely lacking between her and John. That last goodbye at the end between them was heartbreaking. I never really got the same feels when she's interacting with John.
I think Arthur knew this was the final straw. Like, look at Dutch. From someone who saved John and Arthur from becoming an orphan, he turned into someone who would let Abigail go and let Jack be an orphan. I think it's just supposed to emphasize how low Dutch fell.
In their first mission together, Arthur said “I would ride with you, Mrs. Adler, if you would ride with me.” Then they do, in their last mission together.

You want a shining moment for the "good guys" even knowing what this will all end with. My favorite parts here were Abigail's shining moments, her essentially playing her part in literally her own rescue by freeing herself and killing Milton, and her ... I guess you could say ambition to act knowing what was inevitably happening to the gang in finding the chest AND more importantly stealing the key to it. Doesn't matter that the best/cannon ending involves not using it in the moment, i still felt it was a moment for her, especially when she said "i always was a good thief." It was a tearful goodbye and spoke to her character.
Hosea, Lenny, and Sean and those who trusted Arthur that died rode with him and Sadie in spirit😔

Anyone else notice that if you play the game with low honor Arthur sounds even more fierce and bad ass when he delivers his "Ride with me" line. In this it's simply straight forward but in low honor he was like "RIDEWITHMEEEEE!"
A good judgment would be if this was the same dutch back when Jack was taken would he had gone halfway across the map.The answer is no dutch has completely changed nobody gets left behind he used to say.
Why would Abigail give Arthur the key? The man is dying of Tuberculosis so what good would it do to him? It's like giving a guy $1 billion on their death bed.

Idk, but the camp was going to become a warzone in the coming minutes, so there is no way in hell Abigail was going back there - especially when she has a kid to take care of. same with sadie, as she'll act as guidance and protection on the ride to copperhead landing.

I think what's sad is that Arthur didn't even try to come up with an argument to why they shouldn't leave Abigail.
Arthur hoped that his voice begging for Dutch to reconsider would be enough.
This shootout was the best one in the game for me, performance-wise. All game I had spent honing my skills and generally not doing well with the mechanics, but for whatever reason I aced this one and it made me feel like the most badass gunslinger ever.
I love the soundtrack in this the music that's plays when arthur and Sadie are riding together

2:05 you can hear a man whos lost everything basically, but will not, i repeat will NOT let this boy suffer a life of an orphan like he did, so he asked the only person he could trust (Sadie) to ride with him even if it doomed them both, Sadie couldve said "no" but i know arthur wouldve still gone alone if it called for it, thats why i love this duo together, he helped sadie get her revenge on the man who killed her husband i like to imagine this is her way of repaying him, by saving a childs mama. Makes me tear up 🖤🖤😢

I personally think Abigail and Arthur should've been the star couple. There's chemistry that's sorely lacking between her and John. That last goodbye at the end between them was heartbreaking. I never really got the same feels when she's interacting with John.

arthur pleading with dutch to save abigail is not just to do that but it’s his last effort to stop dutch being lost for good
I think Arthur knew this was the final straw. Like, look at Dutch. From someone who saved John and Arthur from becoming an orphan, he turned into someone who would let Abigail go and let Jack be an orphan. I think it's just supposed to emphasize how low Dutch fell.
In their first mission together, Arthur said “I would ride with you, Mrs. Adler, if you would ride with me.”
Then they do, in their last mission together.
