    great work on the susp install and video production. Like you I appreciate the LJ and in my opinion it is one of the coolest offroad rigs you can own. I purchased my 06 LJ in 09 and still have it to this day (36k miles). They age like a nice pair of leather boots or fine wine. I still love it as much today or even more than the day i bought it.

    Great video, as stated before an Air or Battery powered ratchet would be good to have. I have a 4.5 Metalcloak springs on my 99 TJ and never needed a spring compressor tool. Also I highly recommend the Metalcloak bump stops, they really do make a huge difference.

    Nice install.
    I would have placed the frame higher at first, then use another set of jack stands on the axle. Once the CAs are attached, you can articulate the front axle with ease with track bar and steering disconnected to get the overly height of the coils to get installed in the pocket of the axle mount.
    Did you know, your lower front CAs on the axle were not cam bolt. The thick washer that is integrated with the bolt is the Jeep version of the 'cam delete'. I had the same thing on my 01 Sahara when I added Core4x4 arms. But I didn't notice till I removed. Prior, I purchased Barnes4x4 cam deletes which are a complete fill piece vs the washer where the washer only has 2 points touching that alignment shoe (upside down horseshoe).
    Yah on the anti-seize.
    Suggest 30-40# fishline on the snap pin that retains the sway bar end on the mounts. Wrap the end of the line on the sway bar link. That way, if you wheeling and it gets dislodged, it would be hanging off the link and not be lost.
    As for getting the front track bar aligned with the straight bolt on the frame mount, turn the steering wheel with tires on the ground. The frame will wiggle side to side.
    What about the front brake lines? Bleeding of the brakes?

      Very cool! Appreciate that informative comment! Brake lines will be installed with our super flush episode! Stay tuned

    I'm curious why you don't replace the bushings in the front upper control arm mounts on the axle? The Metal Cloak crossover steering arms would have been the icing on the cake with this project.

    I’ve disconnected everything but the front contol arms and front driveshaft. For some reason my drivers side doesnt drop to the floor like the passenger side does. Ive noticed in this video it appears your front drive shaft was still connected when you lowered the front differential to remove the coil springs. My passenger side spring was easy to get out like yours was. The drivers side isn’t coming out without using a spring compressor and taking at least 3-4 inches out of it and still stand or push down the diff to remove the spring probably. Any idea why my drivers side isnt dropping evenly with the passenger side of the differential?

    you’re going to need more bumpstop, that graph is based on the 6 pak shocks. with the rocksports, you need at least 3 inches

      It depends on the fenders you will run. We are installing the high clearance fenders.

    From what I have heard and researched, Metal Cloak is just skyjacker rebranded

    • @Garagecouple
      @Garagecouple  ปีที่แล้ว

      Skyjacker is a great company. The metalcloak kit is among the best you can install. The articulation is wild.

    • @metalcloak
      @metalcloak ปีที่แล้ว

      We always encourage folks to do their own research and choose the suspension system that works for you, your Jeep and your budget. Skyjacker is a great company, but if you dig in to the tech and details, you'll find some extremely distinct differences. Let us know if you have questions about it at anytime, we love to talk suspension. cheers!

    Metal cloak is not the best lift if I had to do it over again I would go with another lift kit I only had the lift for over i year and the brushing had worn out the brushing are not cheap to replace so before buying metal cloak check out some other lift

      Sorry you had that experience. From all we gather the bushing is very durable and we are excited to put ours to the test! Cheers
