I have only been a Colorist for a little under a year and wanted to move into the water color pencil media. Never in my life would I have thought that I would actually finance a set of colored pencils when I used to think $25.00 was too much to ask for! I have all the "big boys" …. Faber-Castell, Prismacolor, Marco Renoir, Derwent, etc. These are simply the best, hands down! Worth every penny!
Brilliant for fashion, interiors and landscape design illustrations. I have both Pablos and Supracolor sets plus the 30 limited edition supracolors. Best pencils out there. Even mix with my Winsor & Newton artist watercolours. For fine detailing on fashion drawings.
What are the difference between Caran D'ache Supracolor , Luminance,Pablo. I am new to adult coloring and can’t decide on which to buy . I want one set of regular colored pencils and one watercolor. Can you please help me decide? I like to find the softest pencils and heard a review where it sad that pablo was very hard .
Honestly for adult coloring, which is mostly a hobby than art for me, you don't need to spent so much money, mostly that album coloring's paper isn't an artistic quality, so you wouldn't be able to exploit their real potential. Expensive pencils are mostly for artists, that would use them with the right paper. And i saw that colorist for adult coloring color in the same exact way. They put too much pressure on the pencil, to get a saturated and flat/smooth coloring...But guess what? it remove all the soul and essence of what colored pencils should be. Because as an artist myself, that use colored pencils, i could say that what's exactly great with colored pencils, it's their expressivity and granularity. And saddly, colorist for adult coloring don't know to use them, because they exactly removed the granularity effect. So for me, whatever the material colorist album use, they get the same result, so i don't see any differences between them, even if they use the best material : saturated and flat color. So i don't think you should buy luminance or very expensive material like that. It would be a waste of money for you, you could get middle or basic level pencils. One time again, colorist for adult coloring don't use them well and want a flat result, so don't buy expensive pencils or stuffs if you don't exploit them at their right value. Honestly, as an artist, i feel annoyed when i see colorist adult buying very expensive stufffs destined to artists, and don't use it the right way. It's sad, and a big waste of materials and money.

You want Caran D'ache Luminance. They're the softest and easiest to blend. Obviously very expensive, but they last you 😊
