I have the same solar charger as in the video! Works great! Two things to know about it… it needs about 2hrs of charge to recharge upto its battery limit 80% it will still charge but minimum charge time is 2 hours if sun so you dont ever have to plug it in When plugged into solar it only will charge the door bell to 80%
This is only good if you are lucky enough to get some direct sunlight every day but if the weather is bad and you have a lot of cloudy days, Fall / Winter this panel is useless and that DC connection you shown on different video is way better solution than this.
I am trying the other power option this weekend from the other ring doorbell video. Keep up the great work!
Did it work?
@@DeaninItYourself Yes it did, and it was super easy to do. Thanks!!!

Best instructions I found. 1 question, the wires in the back don't tie to anything?
the white wires you see in my video is for existing power but you dont need them if you are using the solar charger.
What size screws and masonry drill bit did you use?
drill bit was a 1/4 inch 12" long bit
Can I add a solar panel to a 1st generation ring?
I think so.
Will this work with the ring doorbell 4 & Pro 2? Thank you
Yes it will
Which charger is that? The Ring chargers I see do not have the large panel attached to them.
the link is in the description
I need to size drill! Please
1/4"
Yo instale el mismo sistema y no me funciona no carga la batería
