Those viewing: Start of 2024, in order each year. 1. Bowman 2. Bowman Chrome 3. Bowman Draft Bowman has draft pick cards, paper and chrome in the release that are #'d BCP1 - BCP150. The vet base is a paper only 100 card set just numbered 1-100 and always has the Top 100 prospect insert set. If you see vet base chrome, or prospects that are numbered BCP-151 or higher, that is Bowman Chrome. All Bowman Draft will have the "BD" card designation, for both paper and chrome cards, so easy to separate. That is the best way to follow the 3 releases in order as they come out each year. Hopefully they fellas can pin this and you all find it helpful. It's nowhere as stressful as T-Pot says it is. ✌🏽⚾️
Why I like Bowman Chrome the most is because the rookies help set a floor. That being said, if you're just looking for the rookie autos, it's a straight up wait for the singles release. That's where I am today.
The PSA 10 Bounty on Golden Mirrors was never collected, nor was the Update bounty. The bounty collected from Series 1 and Series 2 was for the raw Golden Mirror set.
Watching this episode again. Really shows how wild the hobby was during Covid, and also shows how Covid also really hurt the hobby for many ppl. Talking about wax prices back in 2020 and before. Seeing how older box prices exploded during covid which also resulted in distributors then manufacturers drastically increasing the prices. Now we’re stuck with these high release prices. For example. I was buying 2019 chrome hobbies for $120.. that release went up to over $400 during covid. 2019 bowman chrome wasn’t a great product even 2-3 years ago. Same for 2020. They were also crazy high and now down to pretty much 2020 release price
2 hobby and a jumbo of pro debut. Same price as a hobby box of Bowman Chrome. 11 autos out of the debut. 5 first round picks. One massive hit with a gold mini diamond auto of Wyatt Langford. If my Bowman Chrome comes close I will be amazed and very happy.
Chris here - I'm generally not a fan. THere are exceptions of course (2017 Ohtani) but even the Acuna Towel On Head Card slowed down quite a bit - before the injury. Most of hte autos are stickers as well. The mojos do nothing for me personally.
Pretty rare cases that the Mega cards hold value. Ra th er than chase individual cards, I try to build sets but the collation has been trash in the last couple of years so I have resorted to collecting most of the set and buying the last few singles on ebay or trading for them.
Full pass this year and I've bought the last three years. Prospect hype is weaker than previous years (supposedly weaker class), 150 autos when they really should be keeping it at 100 or less. Not to mention quality control issues the past two years with damaged cards or double superfractors... I'll wait for draft or Bowman Chrome Sapphire.
Can you please do a video on tops releasing logo fracture exclusively to New York store and then releasing it on their website for everyone to buy… seems shady idk would love to hear your opinion
For the one person that gets life changing money from a bounty, many, many more people are spending money they don't have chasing that bounty. The bounty is meant to drive lots of people to blow money chasing the bounty. It's morally repugnant. Yes, ripping is gambling. But before these corporate bounties (probably pushed by Fanatics) were introduced, the connection from box-to-straight-cash wasn't so explicit. Now it's direct.
If you only have money to buy one Bowman product a year, just stick to Bowman draft. It's the best "gamble"out of the three. But honestly you're better off just buying singles of this product.
The retrofractor auto thing is dumb. The idea of a Koufax "1st" Bowman is laughable. Especially since, as you guys pointed out, he has had Bowman cards. If that doesn't show you how manufactured this BS is, nothing will.
Fanatics playing with the odds so they can sell a lot more boxes its the 90s again mass production, everyone needs to stop purchasing until they fix the scam against the collectors
The Bowman Chome prospect auto checklist, IMO, is the weakest since 2019. It really only has a couple worth trying to chase, out of a checklist of 140+!! The RC list is great, but is that worth trying to chase at these prices.
Just curious...do we feel that cartoon artists/marketing people are working for Topps and Bowman with all these ridiculous stupid variations? I cant believe someone isn't sitting in a meeting (who has even a sniff of an idea about the hobby) and doesn't raise and hand to say "aren't we think we are doing too many parallels"???
Chris here - if Fanatics wants to print more cards and more boxes, they need to put "hits" in those boxes. The more boxes they make, the more parallels they have to create. And at this point, they're out of reasonable ideas - hello Reptillian refractors!! We just have to understand that most of these parallels will NEVER have value more than a month or two after release.
Easy pass. I stopped buying Bowman Chrome hobby after 2022. At $225 I would pay it but with thr increased cost and parallels, I'm out. Topps Chrome Hobby this year was the same way. I'll buy a few singles maybe but that's it
At this point it just seems stupid to blow your load on any bowman or topps chrome. I mean knowing the Sapphire versions will come out shortly after and have the best of the best from the regular chrome products, plus the card quality isn't even close between the two.
Literally the 1/1 superfractor is the only selling point for the base chrome products imo. I would rather have every other color in the Sapphire version.
Chris here - I realized I wasn't clear about what I was trying to say. There are rookies in Bowman, but just paper versions and chrome autos. There are no base chrome rookies in the first Bowman release. Sorry if that wasn't clear! I get tired lol
TPott is a complete clown , inviting him on the show was all I needed to see to know this wasn’t going to be good. TPott is not a Bowman guy , he is clueless and likes other sport insert cards
@@SpitballinCards I honestly never agree with any of his takes. He is someone who gets lots in all of his great data and doesn’t think in a financially savvy way at all. His advice is usually very poor , but fortunately most of his followers aren’t really card guys anyways and more the SCR crowd. We all know that Bowman baseball is a very unique type of card collector and if you don’t get it you won’t get it. Real Bowman guys should be upset about the added parallels and money grab, but not some guy who constantly pushes “cool cards” and inserts.
I think you’re pretty much by yourself on this take. To say someone isn’t financially savvy when they actually track and trend prices is pretty silly. Some of the hosts think in different ways which makes it such a great show. T pott, along with everyone on spitballing cards is highly valued and very popular among just about all of us who watch but everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless how unpopular and illogical

Best value to me is still Bowman retail for the price point. Pulled a Green /99 Roman Anthony auto last year.
thanks for the outline and the info!

chris here - totally agreed! I like to see what the rookie image variations look like as well.
Bowman products in general are the biggest gamble in the hobby.
That's why I bought it! A gambling perspective, the joy in actuality opening a great rip.
@@W3PO The biggest thing is people are gambling on players who might never make it to majors.
Yep! It's a gamble when you open it and its a further gamble to hold any of it because so much about the players is unknown and unproven!
@@SpitballinCards That’s the problem if theses was like 125 a box not over 200 then it would have been better.

Gotta have Bowmington present for new Bowman conversations.

No Skenes auto chase hurts this to me even if hard to hit. Price will tank on wax if you’re patient
Agreed! Chris here - Skenes would be a bigger draw for me than a couple 17 year olds.

I would love a video about when to give up on a prospect and sell
Great topic. When to cut your losses. Hard to say. Best play is probably to just wait 6 years before buying anything!
Well done
we appreciate your support, my friend!!
Are you guys buying a case of chrome together with your TH-cam money from Spittballin, or a 52 Mantle?
Unless a '52 Mantle is also a broken down car, we are buying NEITHER!! But thank for thinking we could! I'll take that as a compliment
De vries had 10 bombs, and hit .253 as a 17 year old in full season ball. Stud.
Great numbers for a kid his age. I wish we had a crystal ball!

I always have fun ripping bowman, just can’t get upset when you don’t pull anything good, this years price point is not worth it though

Who are the top prospects in this set
You gotta watch and find out!
280 dollars Topps smoking crack as usual
Absurd prices on hobby wax. Just unrippable at these prices.
You would think they're on crack, the way their QC is
Looks like hobby boxes are now selling for $300. Imagine the singles you could buy for this dollar amount…Not worth the price to me.

Reptilian match for DBacks prospects that was a good one
I’m pretty sure 2018 redemptions are still active until 2028 with Topps new redemption process. So honestly I think 2018 is still underrated
I think they only went back to 2022 when they announced the 10-year thing
Yeah, sadly they only went back to 2022 or 2021.
