I said it before and I'll say it again that's why I love you Clay. No other NHRA Top Fuel driver interacts with their fans and gives us all the inside looks of what goes on in a race team not only that but I love Kaily. Her knowledge of those cars and all the work she does behind the scenes is amazing.

Drag racing, on asphalt or water, has been in my blood since I was a kid. The last time I had a driver or crew chief give out this much information was when I moved across the street and became friends with one of the top AA/FA owner/builder/driver in the mid 60's and 70's. What your videos do is give every Joe/Jane Ordinary a look behind the scenes, something usually kept away from the public and That's why we love you, Clay!

As a life long fan of drag racing I love your videos, it is really cool to get look at the inner working of your team. The videos of what you all do when not racing is awesome too. As a fan we forget to remember that you have lives outside of the sport.

Hi, Clay, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy seeing the inside of your drag team I have learned so much. I'm now 67 and I grew up watching Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney. I used to go to Niagra drag strip and Lancaster Speedway in Western NYS. I witness the very first race between Garlits and Muldowney at Lancaster. She won by the way. Thanks so much for your channel and giving us all a look inside a race team. Your a good person inside brother. Stay safe.

A testament to knowing the car so well that you can feel something wasn't right and to know it's either the clutch or the rear end only comes through years of piloting a top fuel dragster. That's amazing in itself! Kudos for sharing the insight and that ring and pinion are huge!
Never knew how the cars were transported so thank you for sharing that as well! 🏁👍

It is amazing to hear from 187Customs, who say that their bladder system has made a significant difference. Shawn mentioned that every mile Murder Nova made inside the hauler was equal to 2-3 miles on the road and the bladders weren't a perfect solution, but it was much improved. we are fascinated to see the hauler workings and the amount of prep it takes during the week.

Just as we were joking around with rear ends and how a Ford 9 inch is the best and said "then how stout a 12" would be" not expecting that's what Top Fuel dragsters use!
Now about mounting the chassis solid to the trailer on transport - that does sound a nice thing to do but might need a jig to hold it in that would support its entire length to be strapped down relatively hard and the tires has to come off

I remember when you may have been lucky to get 2 runs from a gear set. Having the pinion support shear off like that is indeed unusual. It looks to have broke right at the fillet of the ground bearing. perhaps a fracture started right there. I was an engineer for U S Gear back in the 80's. Right at the inception of the 12' gear sets. Good luck Clay.
