Terminal velocity is not 118mph for all objects. I know you know this. Just your post made it sound like that so I wanted to make sure if someone else came along they had that clarification

Have you considered adding a bombardier’s camera? A second man could have a VR headset and a radio with stick control…approaching the target, the bombardier takes over and guides it in and releases.

Could you run a second radio and an FPV for the bomb site and bomb release and have a bombardier in charge of the drop? Seems like it would be pretty easy to set up and would take the guess work out of it. Still, that was an incredible drop of precision with LOS flying and such altitude! Josh has some serious piloting skills! Great episode! Been a fan since 2012! Thanks for all you do!
Could use iNav on a F411-WTE FC to have the bomb site FPV camera adjust angle based on altitude and speed too. Wouldn't take much work in the Logic Commands, but probably several test flights.
we (me and my nephews and nieces) made drop bombs too but we used paper mesh to make shell rather than using plastic or 3d printed parts since those were kinda suppose to explode and spread out powdered color fillings. also i forgot to mention one of my nephew used those empty juice box as shell. easier to fill and no cost in built.
I think adding small parachutes to the bombs will give you bigger coverage and accuracy on the drop. May be even can get a video shot of hits from the air..
if you use the line tracking kits on the tanks you could set up a line outside having a moving convoy of tanks and then you could do bombing runs or hook the plane up with one of the laser systems and the tanks with receivers and when they get shot a thingymabob blows up (idk if that would work, its like the architects dream is an engineers nightmare kinda thing.... yknow)
You can drop multiple bombs in sequence using a single motor and a carousel. It might have been a squeeze to fit it into the B25 but I'd love to see a more complex release mechanism that allows for multiple bombing runs in future attempts :)
It would be great if you guy’s included a bomber view, since the bombers would have a sight with a crosshair on it that was fixed to show where the bombs would hit, that would definitely make it a lot easier to aim!

Im just asking because i plan to build a plane and the gear system is really complex because i want to have it realistic to the gear of the actual plane so it looks good. Love your content btw🤩

Just an idea to take the bomber to the next level, the bombardier can wear fpv goggles and have a camera pointing down simulating bomb sights and have the bombardier launch the bombs. Just a thought
Have you looked at the DJI T-40 agricultural drones. They can lift a person easy as they can carry well over 100 pounds. They are a bit pricy at $26K for the whole kit (drone, battery, charger, remote...). The sprayer system and tanks are easy to remove and it has a heavy duty open tube frame with the center open. Think of the things you could do with that.

What you should do is put a downward facing fpv camera on the bomber that aligns with the proper bomb trajectory that a "bombardier" would wear while a pilot flies the plane. It be a remote Nord bombsight of sorts.

You should make a "bomber" fpv unit and wire the bomb release to a separate receiver for the "bombardier" then the pilot can line up and the bombardier can release based on his live feed. Maybe angle the fpv camera forward 15 degrees or so.

Put an fpv camera in the nose pointing down for the bombardier to use as a sight. They can have control of the drop so all you have to do is fly.
BTW - That golf course must have a pond somewhere? Have you thought about building a scale Spruce Goose out of foam? That might be a cool project....

You should make a full sized spitfire

Use the A36 or Stuka to dive bomb the tanks. Also a bomb release to drop 2 at a time instead of all at once, give you more chances. Fun video.
