Classic Tailback - Bo Jackson Auburn Highlights

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 มิ.ย. 2016
  • A compilation of some of Bo Jackson's highlights at Auburn University. Bo Jackson eviscerated SEC defenses for 4 amazing years, with his last season culminating in a Heisman Trophy. Supposedly able to run a 40 yard dash in 4.12 seconds, the sport has not seen a back with his combination of size and speed since then.
    And of course, he later became an iconic video game character as a 75 MS deity in Tecmo Super Bowl.
    The games I used to take the clips from can be found on Stephen Barnett's youtube channel (and there were a few other channels I used as well that you can find if you look around): / sbbarnet. .

    Can't forget fullback Tommie Agee who was lead blocker for Bo Jackson and later for rookie Emmitt Smith with the Cowboys also winning back-to-back super bowls with Dallas and recently inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall Of Fame... Bo credits Agee's blocking for much of his college success.

    Amazing thing about Jackson is he played right halfback in the wishbone his first three seasons which meant almost all of his runs went to the left side! (Most wishbone teams put their best halfback at left halfback so he could run most of the time to the right!)....Really got to show what he could do when they went to the I formation his last season and he could run to either side!

      No......Herschel was ESPN’s top college football player of all time for a reason....Jackson was fabulous but it is no contest with Herschel...Herschel bigger, faster, more powerful, and simply the greatest college football player of all time....was screwed by the writers or would have had two Heismans by the end of his junior year....there isn’t even much of an argument that Bo was a better athlete...as good as Bo was, Herschel was the best player in America as a freshman, the following spring he beat Houston McTear and Ivory Crockett in the 60 yard dash in the Milrose games in MSG, and at that time was (by track times) the seventh fastest man in the world. He went on to anchor the USA bobsled team in the Olympic Games and then was a world champion MMA fighter.....sorry Bo was great but alas, no contest

    If u watch his college videos and Herschel’s; he’s definitely not the power back Herschel was! He probably had a half step on Herschel and Deion in the forty , But had slower times in the hundred meters than both Herschel and Deion. Deion ran a 10.2, Herschel ran a 10.3 and Bo ran a 10.4 ; verified times. Everybody says Bo was the best athlete, but mysteriously..... he had the shortest career of the 3. Personally, I believe Marcus Dupree was better than all of them; he just didn’t have much grey matter or leadership in his life. Which running back did more for college football?; not even close....Herschel Walker!

      But Deion Sanders is the ONLY MAN in baseball and football to ever run a forty in 4.6 Backwards. Probably the most versatile athlete ever. Bo never played defense and offense; nor cud he match Deion’s speed around the bases. Let Deion, Herschel, Bo, and Marcus compete today and it wud come down between Herschel and Deion; I know the haters are going to hate, but Deion did it all , talked it all up and then did it. People talk bout one stiff arm Bo did on Deion;” that’s funny”, Bo laying on his couch with a broke ass hip and Deion still playing corner, returning punts and kickoffs. Bill Belochek said it best...... the fastest natural athlete he ever saw was Deion Sanders....; then again Bobby Bowden said the only person he ever saw that cud match Deion was ... “played at Marshall” !

      You wrote all this and you’re still wrong ☠️☠️ Bo was better than Herschel Deion and anyone else which is why he’s the biggest name of the 3 to this day.

    I know Bo did not play in the NFL for only a few years. Less than say Gayle Sayers. But does anyone not believe he should be in the Hall of Fame? I certainly do. Be a shame for future generations 100 years from now not to see his amazing but short highlight reels play in the hall.. Just saying...

      Lol- 8 yrds a carry. Do the math, every 2 runs is way more than enough for a 1st down. He batter rams his way 2 quarters then just has his way.

    Barry Sanders came after Bo Jackson and was FARRRR superior talent wise. Barry Sanders had 5 more rushing TDs and played 15 less games and was only a starting RB 1 year compared to 4 years for Bo. Thurman Thomas was also a better back in College even with Barry Sanders as his backup.

    • @loupankey2345

      I was with ya on the first part, but Thomas was not better than Jackson. Sanders is on a different level than all these guys, but Bo Jackson is on that next tier...Thomas somewhere beneath that.

    • @DaGr8Depression
      @DaGr8Depression 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Craig Hubbard “Sanders is on a different level than all these guys” you’re right. He’s on the level BELOW Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and Marcus Depree. Those 3 are literal demigods at the RB position and no one was like them.

    • @joshmoats7981
      @joshmoats7981 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaGr8Depression Did you really say Bo Jackson,Herschel Walker and easily the worse RB bust in NFL history in Marcus Depree were demigods? You sir are a complete imbecile.
      Herschel Walker had 11 mediocre seasons and 2 good ones. Only 2 seasons over 1,000 yards. Walker played 3 more seasons and had 7,000 LESS yards on teams with better offensive lines.
      Bo Jackson played 4 seasons and missed at least 6 games every season until the career ender.....3 of those season
      Barry Sanders averaged 1500 yards and 10 TDs per season...Sanders had more RECEIVING yards than Bo Jackson had rushing.
      Marcus Depree had 251 rushing yards total lol
