I'm always excited to see a river video from you Graeme! Your videos got me back into river fishing and now I rarely fish a lake. I just wanted to leave a comment and thank you for all your brilliant tips. Your method of hooking maggots covering the hook has helped tremendously! I was fishing my local river in the recent flood and had some beautiful roach to 1.5lbs. Great fishing!
@@Ryan-ow5qb I was being sarcastic sorry, but yeah mate ive heard about it. The tees is my local river. A beautiful one for wild brown trout and grayling and the salmon and seatrout have made a great comeback
It's soooo good to see Bill and Virginia. Bill spent hours chatting with me at the Big One a few years ago. About 10 mins talking fishing, the other 90 mins or so we were talking about God, and His influence on our lives. They really are one of the loveliest couples I had the pleasure to spend quality time with. I saw Bill at Marsh farm at Milford too. I had a bit of a shock when he stopped off to say "hi" during a walk around. He bank double figures of Crucian carp, I managed 2, and they were tiny compared to his. I think it's wonderful the they always have a little competition between then on the bank. Virginia give Bill a real run for his money too. Oh it's soo good to catch a glimpse of them again.
Great to see Bill talking about Floats and Float making, I have read Bill's articles for Donkeys years... am a Float maker myself, mainly Predator Floats, for Pike, Zander and espesh the Old Skool, Perch Bobber, Been doing it for a good few years now, learnt from my good friend Graham Pinkerton from Scotland, awesome Traditional Float maker, I even have a 2 part indepth Film on my Channel on making a Perch Bobber, the real boys floats... great memos of Fishing for Perch with a Bobber....
One of my favourite fishing spots is next to a busy road and roundabout. I often have people yell out of their cars that I'm a fool for fishing there. It may be a coincidence, but when I hook a fish the traffic slows riiiiight down. I've had quite a few people come back and park to ask what I'm catching. Homemade floats and other items like that are part of how I was tought to fish as a kid. Things like that and learning how to find bait in the area you're fishing were/are bread-and-butter to us and still are.
Ha ha,i spent the afternoon watching jack as well. Always nice to reminisce, lurchers, and even Dave swallow , from swallows tackle shop at Winton in Dorset. Had the pleasure of bumping into Jack a couple of times on the stour and dave swallow was my local tackle shop. Aways a pleasure to watch greame, interesting and informative.
Love the river fishing, o.k. its not big and its urban but there is something about finding fish in pools and eddies that I find more fascinating than just plain carp fishing on a lake. As with the small lake you go to your never too sure what you will pull out. Float making Bill certainly knows his stuff and the variety of floats is amazing. Great entertainment all round thanks for posting.
Back in my younger days the game keepers who we knew through beating for the guns in the winter used to let use fish the Test and Itchen as long as we kept the grayling and put the troat back. Preferred grayling to eat, lovely eating fish.

This place is amazing, it has a lot of fish, you are a very lucky fisherman, Congratulations! Your fishing equipment is very good. God bless you always!👍🎣🐟
Great video Graeme lovely grayling. How nice to see Bill again i loved his and Virginia's articles in the Anglers mail and other mags, especially float fishing with a centre pin.
I drill into the top of a Stick Float & glue in a cocktail stick or a thicker wooden skewer, cutting off the sharp, protruding end for safety. 150 Cocktail sticks cost next to Now't. I might try Plastic Cocktail sticks sometime??
I was watching the introduction film clip and I noticed the Wel’s catfish. It is claimed they have not been introduced into Ca nada or USA, but if they were they would grow into monsters, especially if released near Asian Carp.
Everytime I watch an episode I'm comforted by the intro soundtrack, your consistency with your films, passion and I have watched you from being a novice angler a few years ago....please keep doing it Graeme.
Nice little Creek that is and in town haha thats Perfekt! Lovely grayling there! You dont take some eater fish? I tend to keep like the 4th grayling i catch (in legal measures im allowed to keep as many as i want here in North Sweden if their 30cm long) we have soooooo much grayling up here more than Roach Easaly ,har to get hold of pike bait some times . Lovely Channel youve got Here ! Regards Paul Roger Nilsson
Another totally awesome video Graeme 🎣👍. So you like your floats unloaded, or full? . I make mine semi loaded, 3 to 3.5 grs under weight. So now it mecome a multi purpose float , slider float or locking shot around the eye..
Lovely video that Greaeme, nice to see the sun again , tell you what, I used to catch a lot of gudgeon through the years but I haven't see one for many years now is it now an extinct species ? Or are they still about .
I am finding that moorhens are definately attracted to red float tips. Use yellow and they ignore it. Wonder if it has anything to do with their red beaks?
@@TAFishing I'm lucky my local river is not full of rubbish, or otters and crayfish. But the fish stocks are still really low. Apart for the odd BIG carp and barbel. But i don't have time to waste just targeting one or two big fish.
Trouble is with the sea fishing 🎣 is its so dependent on the weather being favourable. Don't forget greame is fishing on his own, filming on his own and launching high sea drifter on his own. Always amazed me the confidence he had as he cant even swim. He's getting on in years now as well but I'd like to see him back out and targeting that megalodon. He's always in with a shout of hooking into a giant bluefin nowadays off the coast of Devon and Cornwall. Rising sea temperature has brought them into the realms of possibility.

Beautiful Grayling.Still on my wish list.

Love the urban fishing session. I was just watching a Jack Hargreaves video before this, so seeing Bill and his floats was a perfect follow on film.👍
Wonder if we were watching the same episode with Jack Hargreaves
jack Hargreaves! was watching the lurcher episode the other day. What a guy!
I was watching the Lurcher episode too. I didn't know about the different types.

Hi Graeme. can you please do a video tutorial on that accelerated cast technique of yours?
I know what you mean,I use it a lot, lures or bait.Just habit I guess. I will try and do a film on it.

Creeks? Has TAF Show moved across the pond or something? He'll be calling the Floats "bobbers" next!
I think we used that one recently !!
So sad to see your last film at this location. This was a nice stretch. Now it's full of shopping trolleys and other crap. 😢

Was that river in or near Christchurch? Looks familiar!
No,about 70 miles away.
