- The differences between the 70 1/2 falcon and a Torino. There’s were 26,000 2 door falcons made. The falcon is often confused for a Torino but they are in fact two different models with some distinction

A friend of mine had the 6 cylinder and 3 on the tree. On days it was dry, he couldn’t get it in to 2nd gear. He’d have to wind out 1st, the hit 3 rd. But on rainy days, it would slide into 2nd. With almost 200,000 miles on it, he sold it to a friend who used it to haul firewood.
The neighbor ordered a new Fairlane 2 door hardtop in 1970. Bright yellow with black interior. I think it had 3-4 options. It was a "Nothing Car" meaning a stripped down, special order. 351 Cleveland 4 barrel, 4 speed (Hurst shifter), and an AM radio. Kind of a cool car!!
An excellent choice. I had a 70 Fairlane at one time
a few years are confusing the Falcon, Torino, Fairlane & ford Cobra shared the same body and interior just swapped badging
In 1970 the Torino was the top of the line series. They were still building the low-bucks Fairlane, which looked much like this Falcon. When the 1970 cars came out in the fall of 1969, Ford offered the '69 Falcon as a 1970 model. However they could not sell that '69 Falcon after January 1, 1970 because it didn't have the locking steering column.
My first car was a 1970 Ford Fairlane 500 2-door with a 302 and this video brought back memories for me.
An excellent choice. I had a 70 Fairlane with a 351c. I’m glad this was able to bring back memories for you
Roll down rear windows in a two-door car? I wasn't aware of that. That's very good. It's a shame that doesn't exist anymore. A two-door BMW 4-series coupe with rear roll down windows would be nice to have.
Actually, there were very few two doors back then where the back windows did not go down. The 68 Roadrunner did offer a coupe model, one of the first I remember and the 70 Duster sold by the hundred thousands with no roll down windows. After that opera windows become popular.
I had a special ordered '70 Torino it was a 2 door post, it originally had a 351c in it, it was replaced with a 302, later it had a cobra hood and gt wheels with center caps
If you had a 2 door post then you had a falcon.
They only built 138 super drag pack 429.scj 1970 1/2 falcons. I know someone that still has his completely all original he bought it when he was early 20.s he is in his 60.s know 😊
That’s a very rare car. I have a M code 351c factory shaker car. The only one more rare is the 429 scj.
Love the old Fords
I’m rather partial to them myself!
I remember when the 1970 1/2 Falcon was introduced. It wasn’t much different than the 1970 Fairlane 500 and I don’t remember seeing many of them. I used to hang out at a Ford dealership back in those days and was privy to everything new that Ford was doing. These are the fondest memories of my childhood. I was 13 at the time.
Good video! Guess youtube knows of my own 70 1/2 falcon two door. I love having people try and guess what it is, so far only one hardcore ford guy knew exactly what it was out of the hundreds that have called it all sorts of things
2399$ for 1970 ½ falcon great deal.
Do NOT forget that the Falcon, Torino AND the Fairlane all shared a similar body in 1970s, there was also the 1970 Cobra Jet, as well as the Mercury Cyclone and Cyclone Spoiler that also used this body style platform as well!!!
The three only shared the basic body in 1970 only. The falcon and Fairlane names were dropped for 1971
It was the last year for the falcon name but it was a base torino
It was not a Torino, similar but not the same
And what about the Australian Falcon? (Mad Max)
Completely different car and continent
Awesome 😊❤.
How possible that celica 1970 have the same face?
A lot of cars share similar features, especially with round headlights
