A lovely man called Roy Meets showed me how to paper a ceiling. Definately needs a chalk line to get first piece square. First time I tried I ended up with the paper wrapped round my head (cartoon fashion) but after that, I was away. He also showed me a trick with plain lining paper where you leave just under a 1mm gap between each subsequent piece. Once ceiling is dry, just run a tiny amount of filler into the gap with a scraper, lightly sand and no lines show whatsoever. Did my bedroom that way and it looks like a wedding cake - pristine. For a first attempt I was amazed how good it looked. Always use a brand new blade if trimming with a knife or it'll ruck up and tear. Scissors easier, but again, keep them sharp. Agree on planning for ceiling pendants or it can be VERY frustrating.

I have just about retired now but back in the 80's local decs used to employ me to do the ceilings as they were lacking in the ability to carry it out. I became the go to guy to do hallways and landings. Good instructional there . Well done. Bob (Weston super Mare)

How do you get the paper to adhere to the ceiling? I can never get the paper to actually adhere to the ceiling. It falls down despite me using smoothing tools just like you are doing.

I papered a ceiling with the exact same paper last month. What a nightmare finding the pattern lol i have also papered ceilings in superfresco WHITE SNOW and it looks v similar but much easier to match so i try to get the customer to go for that one in future . Spent all day trying to match the pattern with the superfresco STIPPLE. Eyes where all over the place. Then u start doubting urself when its up 😂

Not really the paper just adds a little texture, and also helps reduce noise.

Personally I prefer the paper myself

You really need one of those external mics. It so hard to understand you. Please watch your video about the ladders, even with captions I can't make it out.

@@PaintingandDecorating Internal without wind noise is fine.........clip mic would help though, although you may get rustles off it as you work...

Martin did u have a big badge on Ur van saying PROPER DECORATOR 😂nobody cares mate. These guys know the trade and a proper decorator like u really should know that. Everybody does things different. Who cares. He is running a business that works perfect for him and his customers. He isn't working for u or Ur customers or me or mine. He seems like he is doing a pretty good job to me . Why all the hate
