    I still owe someone a video on how the Ventrac operates and functions. I haven't forgotten, just got behind!

    This continues to be a very useful piece of equipment to clear difficult terrain areas. You regained a lot of usable space. Also, despite sometimes making repeated passes on damp ground, the Ventrac is not tearing up the soil. Good job on getting unstuck. Later, a nice thought as well, to roll a "too close log" away.

      I should have spent some time cleaning up after I cut everything. I could have used the deck (not on, of course) to push some of the big limbs and branches downhill more so the client didn't have to. Honestly I didn't even think about it until editing :D

    Good morning, Brad! Well, despite the hiccup of getting hung up on that stump, it had to be pretty cool having to put the VenTrac into mountain goat mode to tackle some steeper inclines/embankments. Thanks for another great video! Enjoy the weekend!

    They say money doesn't buy happiness. And I agree. But it can buy me a VENTRAC. And a Tough Cut. And a power bucket. And a leaf plow. And anything VENTRAC makes me HAPPY! 😂 How about you, Brad?! You've got the fanopy. You've got the 8 wheeled monster machine. You're knocking down overgrown brush like it's nothin. You almost got the truck stuck and it didn't even phase you since you were playing on the Ventrac. More Money = More Ventrac Equipment = More Fun for Brad = More Happiness

    Good video! Like the before and afters. At the 23:30 spot where you got stuck - did you try to raise the front end by putting down pressure on the attachment? Sometimes that works.

    At what angle do you think that the hill was? Except for the part where you could not get around the big root, it did not look like you had any problems getting up and down the hill. Another great job! Love seeing the transformation that took place.

    Would love to have one but for a homeowner they are just too high priced. Might as well say its 40 grand but the time you buy a mower deck and the bucket. Can buy a compact tractor for about half the cost. I know its not the same things but the cost id just too much

    I know you're in Florida it's the only reason why I'm asking I own my own lawn service it's Bobby's Lawn Service but it's spelled differently and said differently than it is actually written on here it is spelled and Cajun French I'm going to be very soon hopefully starting my own TH-cam channel and one of my goals is to be able to give veterans free yard cuts and I would wonder if you wanted to do the same to help your veterans out

    Neat machine but honestly I can clear that same spot and remove the logs and fallen wood in the same time or less with a kubota 2501 with a flail mower and a grapple on it for nearly half the money that that machine costs.

  • @jeffweber8244

    I generally like your videos. In this case I disagree with the decision to mow that area. The natural ground cover that was present was the only thing to prevent erosion of that steep creek bank and mudding of the creek. Homeowners need to consider more than wanting a manicured view.

      City could fine you for unmaintained landscaping. For my city if it’s over 7” grass or weeds you can get fined.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point! Maybe a middle ground would have been to cut higher so I didn't remove so much turf.

  • @normanbrown3673
    @normanbrown3673 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was NOT impressed with the Ventrac 4x4. The way you had to raise the mowing deck most of the time when reversing gives me a sense that it doesn't mow well backing up. Case in point, getting stuck. Also, you edited this episode so much I got the feeling you had a lot more problems than you showed. For what this costs, and the few opportunities to use this, it's definitely not worth the money.

    • @newbs70
      @newbs70 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a Tough cut slashing deck. Not designed to cut backwards. They don't get stuck. Unless you drive it into a swamp or something.

    • @CopperCreekCuts
      @CopperCreekCuts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good points! I will address them all:
      - Raising the mowing deck when reversing is not for cut quality but because when you back up the caster wheels change position and this (as well as just the machine moving backwards) causes the deck to be lower than when driving forward and can cause scalping. The problem is compounded when you reverse uphill. If you don't want to mess with that, cut at not the lowest setting like I did.
      - I got stuck because of soft ground around a 6 inch tree root, not because of how the deck cut.
      - The editing was cutting out all the back and forth travel that wasn't actually cutting (and therefore pointless to watch) or shots that didn't look good when filmed. Otherwise you saw everything noteworthy that happened. You are already coming from a place of distrust, so me saying 'I didn't edit any issues out' won't change your mind, but logically speaking, if I didn't want to show mistakes, don't you think I would have edited out getting the Ventrac stuck rather than show it? Wouldn't I have avoided talking about the fact that I almost stuck my truck? Wouldn't I have not filmed the -slipping tire? I don't hide mistakes in my videos, and have plenty of other times I have gotten stuck (in mowers and trucks) to show that.
      All that said, I appreciate you watching and commenting, and absolutely respect your ability to determine if a piece of machinery would work for you or not. That is why I make these videos (as well as to entertain) so I am glad it is doing its job!

      Another Brad didn't mention was picking the deck up adds weight and therefore traction to the front wheels.
