I stay out of this and try to enjoy whatever is put out but I just wanted to say that Star Wars has always been diverse even back in the 70s. The Jedi have never been presented as favoring any particular group or gender as the only qualification is to be force sensitive. Adding all of these ideals and ideologies is killing the franchises biggest asset, escapism.

Since it's not a movie shown in theaters I'm not sure how you lose money unless a lot of subscribers drop. I personally decided to cancel because other than Loki the Disney content is weak but well I'll be the first to admit that I will reactivate when Daredevil drops.

If people don't subscribe any more than they already do and they even lose subscribers, then the whole thing is 180 million down the drain. It's not sustainable as a business model. Fans want a rich history of character they love. Amazing well written story without any agendas or DEI. Fans will fire back and these big companies forget that what makes a movie money is the fans. You insult them with name calling and accusing them of being something just because they want a decades rich story well written without DEI. They will boycott your movies. Back when the Original trilogy was in theaters, diverse crowds of humans stood around the block waiting for tickets, all enjoying each other's company. Nobody was excluded, nobody was told, "This isn't for you!" or "You're too toxic to stand in line with us." Nothing in the movies beat us over the head with politics. This was pure, escapist entertainment, and a LOT of the fans were young men who weren't the alpha coolest bad-asses, and their friends, families and dates. These guys loved being able to escape and feel like greatness was possible. Now? Diversity and Inclusion doesn't include us, not even a little bit.

Sorry, but I am not so sure. I have seen the "Christmas Special" live on TV. This was the time, when the Star Wars Franchise had nearly lost a Star Wars fan, before he had even started, this was the first thing, I had seen from the Star Wars universe....I still remember pretty well this stupid live show with some videos and I also remember my total disappointment...Oh yes, I remember pretty well, how awfully bad it was. The next I had seen was The Empire Strikes Back and they had lost me as SW fan with Episode 7 again.
As I will never see the Acolyte, it will be impossible fo me to compare these...
But I am pretty sure, it is a very hard competition between The Christmas Special and the Acolyte.
And I also remember pretty well the "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor"... In few countries it was even in cinema; where I have seen it. First week in cinema and I was the lonely one in this film.
This is another film of the SW universe/franchise to be discussed, if it is not as bad as The Christmas Special and Acolyte.

Disney paid $4B for the rights to the Star War's franchise. The value of that franchise rests with the large audience of dedicated fans. Iger has employed staff to operate the franchise and develop new content that is in the process of reducing the fan base and therefore destroying the value of the Star War's franchise.
Iger is either violating his fiduciary duty to the shareholders or acting under instruction from the board (which would raise a larger question as to why they are willing to burn their own money.)
