Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time TH-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. Jen, this video was pure makeup THERAPY. An hour of products, mini reviews, a little swatchy-swatch, and declutter, with a healthy dose of honesty and entertainment, all rolled into one. First time watching you! Love that you have reviews, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, that you show "love" and acknowledgement to your viewers with a heart. Most people do not bother to do this. Separates you from most TH-camrs in any categories. Cheers to your success!

I really felt your sadness about this awesome Joah primers. I use Milani Screen Queen foundation. I found two colors that I mix together to make a perfect match, after searching for years for a good foundation. As soon as I bought what I needed, Milani discontinued that line of foundations! Ugh. I was irritated.
On your recommendation, Jen, I tried the Essence foundation and so far I like it. I just wish it had a bit more coverage, but I wanted to learn to use my concealer for that.
I just don't understand why makeup companies keep changing their products. At least, don't discontinue everything guys! 😅

I always use the wet n wild tinted moisturizer but it doesn't dry down and feels tacky. UGH! At least it doesn't settle into lines and is less than 5.00!
I agree! I love it, but sure wish it would dry down a bit 😕 I can't wear it to work because I'll look in the mirror halfway through the day and see big bare spots where I accidentally touched my face 😳

I feel the same about the Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base as far as not getting the hype as a primer. However, it's my go-to moisturizer for under makeup! So I use it as a moisturizer, let it sink in and then go in with another primer that actually does something for my skin lol it works great like that!
I’m so jealous when I see someone who can declutter. I have so much trouble throwing stuff out, especially if I haven’t had a chance to use it! 😅

Me too! Just recently discovered how good the original Maybelline SuperStay powder foundation is, and I've had it for about 4 years, just never used it cuz the shade was a bit too light. But the formula is fantastic.
And now, they're discontinued! 🤦🏻♀️
Same. I usually make myself use stuff up, unless the color is awful, I'm allergic to it, or it just doesn't work on my very dry skin. I do throw out mascara after a maximum of 6 months. If I'm actually using it daily, 3 months.

Declutter videos are my chill. I put them on during work and just kind of listen and sometimes get distracted and watch, but I’m so glad you came out with another one. Your preferences are similar to mine, so it’s nice seeing mini reviews of your collection

I love the Ordinary Glycolic for my under arms too! Works so well at killing the bacteria that causes the stink.

Jen i agree with you completely, Nyx Bare with me concealer is the most creasing one in my collection,i don't get the hype ! I love decluttering series so much , especially when people offer a lot of information about the products they keep or not! 💙
I am surprised this concealer creases on some people. I'm 59 and I love it. However, ELF hydrating camo concealer creases on me and I know that is rare. Try the Covergirl serum concealer. It's nice.
@@jeanniesmith3705 i actually runed and brought 2 different shades because i had high hopes 🙈! I live in Germany and we don't have many drugstore options. My HG is Tarte Shape Tape till this day, but with all exploded prices i will try to downsize my makeup expenses even i usually tend to splurge on foundations/ concealers and colour under eye correctors !
@Andreea C. if I am going to splurge I choose foundation and concealer too. Prices are outrageous now. A dozen eggs are $6.07 here in Illinois.

I luv that believe foundation I recently got it I like it better than my nars light reflecting even the bottle is really nice I was shocked!!!

I love the Moira loose powder, it sets everything without looking dry or cakey. I apply it with a damp sponge & it makes my skin look perfect!
Found this so helpful with the mini reviews, but also gave me incentive to keep to my low buy, knowing the shelf life on all these things just isn’t that long. Thank you!

Jen, please don't toss that Covergirl foundation! BUT here's the thing: use it for an eye primer, not on your face. It works brilliantly for that! It blocks out all discoloration like veins on your eyelids. I was blown away. It makes your shadow, even problematic ones, last all day.
I love a good declutter video, and your quick mini review of each was so useful. Also, I chuckled when your Catrice concealer kept trying to photo bomb your other concealers..it was too cute!
I wish all declutter videos had such great mini reviews, we are similar in tone and skin type so this was super helpful. I'm on a no buy but the few things I was interested in you saved me money.

I agree that the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk can be a bit tricky for dry skin gals. I find that I have to prep well with it. If I apply too much, it doesn’t look as nice either. That could be preference on my part. Armani Beauty also has my shade. I have an olive undertone. I want to try Lady Gaga’s new foundation. It has a wonderful shade range.
I have loved using the Bobbi brown face base as an extra level of Moisturizer for my days when I'm feeling extra dry. I'll use it as layers for other primers

Now I'm going to have to check out that Revlon concealer and you reminded me that I want to get the Mally no powder putty. Your declutter's are the very best, so concise but brief. I'm amazed how you remember absolutely every product and how you experienced them, wow!!

That Beauty Pie corrector is my favorite. A little is all you need and that container lasts forever! The price isn’t horrible when I only have to buy it once a year.

I really like the Essence Pretty Natural Foundation! I'm so sad they discontinued it! I bought it for like $3.50 on sale. It was so cheap but a really good foundation surprisingly.
Always enjoy watching a declutter, the reorganizing and making room for newer products, is always relaxing for me. I try to go through my stuff every few months, to see what's expired, and what I haven't used to see if I want to use it or give it to family.
I just bit the bullet and ordered your brush set and the beautiful Doll 10 palette ~~~ I am so excited to get them !!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

This is the first video I’m watching of yours (so far loving this video), but wanted to say omg finally someone else that doesn’t understand the hype around the Bobby Brown face base primer!! I heard everyone hype it up and I got a decent sized sample and I’m so happy I never believed the hype. Love the packaging and the cream smell’s expensive but it did nothing for my makeup.
Hi Kristy! That's exactly how I felt, I saw so many TH-camrs recommended it but it didn't do anything for me. When it comes to primer, I like them to do something like add a glow or smooth my pores. Otherwise there's no point in wearing one. 😊

Hi Jen, I just got my Doll 10 order today and I am so happy with your brushes. I love them and the glosses that I ordered. It is so hard to get rid of stuff so I send it home to my nieces before it expires. I love the L'Oreal True Match foundation too. I am hearing about brands I have never heard of before so that is interesting. Your reviews on all of these products are invaluable to me for I have dry skin too. I dont like the WnW impossible primer either. I actually hate it lol. It's one of the only products I've thrown in the trash. It was such a PITA to use. Everytime I'd squeeze the tube a bunch would just shoot out. So annoying that I gave up on it.
Hey Jen. Love your videos (greetings from Australia). Could you please consider making a video about makeup expiration. I always thought that if the product was unopened (seal unbroken), then it still had the full life span to it….within reason of course. But listening to you, even for products that you hadn’t opened, you were intending to throw out. I’m pretty careful with sunscreens or products containing actives but must admit that if things still look/smell good, I have used them after the expiry date. Thanks ❤

For stick foundation you should try the Ulta brand Moisturizing Foundation Stick. I really enjoy it and it's easy to work with, not too heavy. I have senstitive, dry, aging (35) skin.

JEN!! L.A Girl has new lip sticks, really nice ones! They even have amazing packaging with magnetic closing like the new Elf O lip sticks. I’m dying to see how the formula is and if they’re any good. I had one in my hand today at CVS, debating on getting it, but I decided to wait and see how the reviews are on them, because I don’t need another lip stick right now. Yes. I know you must get a lot of makeup. Declutter are so fun. It’s hard when you spend money and then have to say good bye ! I’ll have to watch in sessions. Long video but here for it. I LOVE THE MISSHA BB CREAM, the PURLISSE BB , AND THE EBORIAN CC AND BB. I’m 62 almost in 3 days. And they truly make my skin look great for a light coverage

I was just going to ask you about that Mally and it was the last one. I bought it and it is different than what I’m use to but I do like it, I don’t use it all over my face just around my cheeks where I have more pores. ❤

I'm loving the Maybelline 4in 1 glow perfector as my base I use hard Candy perfecting primer first it smoothes out my face beautifully and my look lasts a 16 hour shift and multiple hot flashes then the Maybelline glow perfector I set with Laura Gellar baked balance and brighten powder foundation but just a light dusting I use a deeper shade as my bronzer which gives a flawless look on my mature skin I'm turning 51 this year I use my ofra highlighter because i like to glow then line my lips with a mauve lip liner top with a clear gloss both from rimmell my eye looks vary on my mood but typically go with mauve burgandy mattes and light pink shimmer been reaching for my violet voss berry burst fun size palette or love struck believe beauty eyeshadow palette mixing in with wet and wild petalette palette believe beauty mascara in the purple tube I use la colors mineral pressed powder as my finishing powder just a light dusting and set it with hard candy stay and slay setting spray I'm a nurse and have no time for touch ups other than my lips ...when I say my makeup holds up 16 hours it holds up ..hard candy makes excellent primers and setting sprays ...that's my everyday makeup look

Maybe, haha! I may have misunderstood but so many influencers say it's an amazing primer so I guess that's what I was expecting. 😂 It's not the best moisturizer, at least for my dry skin...it's not the most hydrating. 🥰

You are probably right, unfortunately, about the Zoeva foundation. There are only 3 shades in their website and in every beauty site most of the shades are either sold out or strongly reduced 😔 it is also one of my favorite foundations. It is sad when such a nice product gets discontinued.
I also never saw what all the hype was about the Armani Luminous silk. Their Designer´s Lift however is one of my favorites, it works much better for dry skin.
Now I feel the need to declutter...

I'm so glad you got your hands on them! It must be stock being sold from third party sellers because they took them off their website and CVS a while ago. They were on their "last chance" page on their site for a while. 😥
I've always wondered if expiration dates are so we will get rid of our stuff and buy new from the companies or if it truly stops working at the dates on packages..bottles?!
Missha has a "BB RX" line in a similar red tube with less grey undertones! I'm not sure if the formula is the same as the OG, but I use it daily and love it 😊

It’s so hard to use products up! I add a stickers with the year/month I buy things and I still have lipsticks from 2017 and powders from….before…

The expiration dates really only matter for products containing SPF because it’s effectiveness will decline over time, if it’s a chemical sunscreen. I have to say I don’t think expiration dates on cosmetics are to live by. Many liquid products are filled with additives and stabilizers anyways. Unless the foundation or lotion is separating and changed smells (for the worse) it’s probably fine. I have used many a product past an expiration date on myself with sensitive skin and been OK. The main thing is keeping products clean and keeping bacteria down, so I never use my fingers or a brush right to the containers, etc. Pump foundations are great and I just use a metal spatula and mixing palette for all other products that would require it. If you don’t have a breeding ground for bacteria transfer, you’re fine. I used to freelance and have always been a germaphobe and once you get used to using products this way it’s second nature. 😊

Wow thanks Jen , I know I am late to this as I see it’s 3 weeks old ,thank you for your honesty as always , I was thinking going forward ,and it’s only a suggestion ,don’t come for me ,but as you test so much makeup and therefore receive some in p.r . In the future you might think of aside from what your sisters can use ,when you do a declutter , I ve not hissed you live quite rurally , but if there where a shelter or a woman’s aid shelter somewhere near to you , you could donate whatever you declutter ,I’m sure the women who’d benefit from a boost to give them a little lift . Cos what girl doesn’t like make up ,and when you feeling low it can give you a boost ! As I said just an idea maybe impractical in your location thanks as always for you wise words ❤

Sadly skin care didn't become important to me till I turned 40 a few years ago and looked in mirror and regretted all the times I wanted to be as tan as possible. My lines around my eyes and mouth and forehead I hate! Now I use skin care daily. Sadly nothing I have tried yet is helping with fine lines and crows feet around my eyes. I hate smiling in pics cause it shows the more. So skin care I keep and use. My makeup I do pretty good about decluttering and giving away what I won't use and throwing away what may get old. I try to not have to throw anything away it's such a waste. If I don't use it not even once in four months then I find it a new home. It baffles me how much makeup I see people waste online instead of decluttering it and giving it away. They rather have huge collection just for looks. Anyway love your videos and I found some my holy grails per your videos as we have about same skin type minus all my wrinkles you don't have Jen lol. But we close in age so a lot of what you recommend works great for me!
