I love Jessica’s brutal declutters. She kept saying” I need to hurry up!” I was thinking, I like the description of each with the swatches. I’m inspired to declutter my makeup again.
So many content creators worry about long videos. You won’t lose us! It takes me wayyyy longer than 20 minutes to fold all of the laundry in this house so keep talking sister!
Unfortunately Mac’s patisserie is discontinued 😭they got rid of the lustre formula and it’s now called lustreglass. The shade “Thanks, it’s M.A.C!” is essentially a patisserie dupe. 🙂

I haven't tried these lipsticks yet (I'm still pretty new to makeup), but since Jess already likes the Nars lipsticks, I think the Nars lipstick in the shade "Cruising" could also be a Mac patisserie dupe😶

Oh no!! Lustre was the only line i liked. Thats pretty sad. I hope lustreglass is similar. Hug me is my favourite lipstick everrrr i just don’t have it rn cause i own 2 that are so close in color.
Jess i actually love your longer videos and declutters especially, where you swatch it all and explain the formula/why you are getting rid of it 😅. Basically, i WOULD watch 2 hrs of you decluttering. Don’t hurry! Hahaha
Patisserie is not moldy. It has bloom on it. That happens when the lipstick gets hot and sweats the oils in it. It’s still okay unless it smells like a crayon.
You film the best declutter videos. Whenever I watch someone else's, I wish they'd be more like yours!
Lip balm is my weakness. I have so many, i find them everywhere sometimes completely empty. Lol love me some lip balm. Keep them in my jeep, nightstand, purse, pockets, everywhere

I feel like organizing the makeup into different categories and piles and making nice, neat lines of product is most of the fun in decluttering
I was inspired by your last declutter and I tossed about 50% of my collection which made a huge difference and now I can actually find what I want to use
I did this 3 months ago,on a way smaller scale, and it felt so good. Now all I have are items I use and love. I have one more blush coming from Rare beauty and then I am set on makeup for the next year. I am going to try (yes try😜) a no spend for at least 6 months. I will replace anything I use up that I feel I want in my collection. Lip stick, balms and glosses are my hardest to let go of❤❤❤

I love ya Jess, but I do gotta say: if your Patisserie is old enough to be molding and you are just now noticing it, you probably don't need to rebuy it, because it means you weren't reaching for it. Always love your declutters!

You could do a little swatch of each lipstick you want to show the girls one day on a pretty card (seal it with a craft sealer) and then clean out the lipstick packaging and store it all in a shadow box ❤
Your declutter videos are the best because you talk about each product. Lip products are the ones that I lose track of how old they really are!🙄

FYI - if anybody is trying to find that pot balm that Jess showed from "Kosas".... don't look for it on Kosas as it's actually Cosrx the Korean Skincare brand. She just muddled up the name with Kosas. 😊😊
And the lipsticks that had bumps on the case were Milani not Maybelline in case you want them too.
I really like seeing the swatches, even if it makes the video a little longer.

Okay for anyone who's curious I did my best to count... you kept (I think) 62 and decluttered over 100 (hard to get an exact count cause some might have been hidden). So definitely over half gone! I would say you definitely decluttered around 70%.
Yessss!!! I’ve been waiting for Jess’ decluttering series since the beginning of the year 😝and now that my toddler is napping, I can treat myself to watching this video in quiet with a snack 😂
I keep a notepage on my phone for when I've opened up my makeup products. Like: "L'oreal, Color riche lipstick, 108 Brun cuivré - Opened x/x 2022" etc. It helps me to keep track of all my products and when they are expiring without having to put stickers on the actual makeup and such! :)
P.S. I've loved your channel for years! I love watching your videos when I'm getting ready in the morning!

I just did this Sunday. I only wear 3 different lip products and have over 50 from 15 different brands, and yes I searched some crazy colors I don’t remember wearing. Some I’ve had since 2008. I dumped more than half.
Great Declutter! Regarding the items where you are not sure of the age of the product, websites such as the check cosmetics site are very helpful. The site will provide the manufacture date of the brand and batch code on the product container is entered. They don’t have data for all of the Indie brands but data is available for many brands. Products can be manufactured a year before they are available for purchase so sometimes the item is older than we think. Keep up the great Decluttering work!

As a former MAC artist I’m pretty sure they discontinued Patisserie bc they’ve come out with so many new shades. Those white dots were mold 😩 So sad!!

If you like the general idea of the Maybelline Vinyl Ink in Peachy but want more pigment, the shade Charmed is pretty similar but lasts longer.
Perfect timing! I literally just decluttered over half my lip products last night! Got rid of over 30 and kept 20- which is still too many for me, but progress! And you are so right about being overwhelmed. So many were expired and never used. It was awful! But I'm excited to use what I have now!

Hi Jess, I believe Mac still has a program where they will recycle their old packaging, so instead of just tossing the ones you don’t keep, you can bring them back to Mac. They used to give you a free lippie for every 5 or 6 empties, so maybe they still do that. 😊
I believe the Mac Recycling program will be discontinued at the end of this month. 😢
The girl I spoke with at the counter last week said she didn't know of they would do something else for it or just getting rid of it all together.
Some Ulta stores will also except empties/cleaned out packing for recycling!
Have you thought about putting the wedding/ honeymoon lipsticks somewhere else outside of your collection? Display shelf above your vanity or wedding shadow box?
I agree, a bunch of other beauty TH-camrs have what they call a makeup archive to put away that sentimental makeup. Then you wouldn’t have to keep dealing with it and explaining with every declutter.

One more thing… I looked it up and saw that Emily noel did this 3 years ago, but I’d LOVE to see a full face of minis from Sephora or Ulta for travel use! I think that’d be so fun! I tried the mini Amazon decanters for some things and I hated it.

If you like those shades of Maybelline lipstick, try Rich Raisin! I have very pigmented lips, and it’s one of the only nudes that looks good on me. Similar to Burt’s Bees balm in Fig.
FORVER agreeing with you about Aquaphor. I always thought I was creamy for thinking there was a difference but there definitely is and nothing beats original Aquaphor!

Hey Jess.. I declutter my face base drawer.. I got rid of a lot of products.
I also decluttered my mascaras too. I kept 2.
I am trying to be more mindful and aware of what I am actually using. Many of the products were expired and I realized that I am not into foundation anymore. Skin tints, tinted moisturizers, and tinted sunscreens are what I like. So I am not going to by anymore foundations.
I need to declutter but I feel like I am throwing out money…very very very old money!

The Mario lip serums are great, but there's so little product in the tube. I bought the Bronze Glow shade two months ago, and I definitely didn't wear on the daily. I still ran out on vacation. Really disappointed by that.

I had so many lipsticks that were years old and I started breaking out around my lips. Threw them all out and now my skin has cleared up. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you, but my cautionary tale 😂

I love the lawless. I had their lip balm in the pot.... finished that went through two tubes of their gloss. Just bought a double pack on qvc. What i don't like is how lil there is in the tube. It's only half filled when you take the wand out. That's why you go through it so quick! But the formula is terrific!
