Styling itself as the “busiest and best Saturday market” in England, Bovingdon Market is home to as many as 400 stalls during its peak meetings.
According to their website, the market hosts stalls selling a wide variety of goods: “Fashion, fresh produce, carpets and rugs, toiletries, computer accessories, fabrics and haberdashery, tools for every job, and food to suit all tastes.”
It's unique in the fact that it is held on a former airfield, close to an active prison.
So even if you're not a avid bargain connoisseur, it's definitely worth a visit.
General markets are held every Saturday, but they are also held on Monday Bank Holidays too.
Visitors have been full of praise for the market on TripAdvisor, with one reviewer saying: “I’ve been visiting this market for over 20 years and can thoroughly recommend a visit.
"Mostly mid-range but a few stalls doing higher quality stuff.
"The Motown cafe is superb for a bite to eat and listen to some great tunes.”
"The Bovingdon market attracts thousands of people which meant that in order to comply with government restrictions only a few people could be let in at once which lead to enormous queues.
"It’s a great day out with a vast array of food and lots of bargains, and when Covid restrictions are over we obviously won’t have to queue anymore!”
The market is situated on the historic World War Two airfield at Bovingdon, just outside of Hemel Hempstead.
