Most efficient way is to only have one folder called "music". All your tracks go into that one folder. This will save you lots of head aches later on. If not, you will end up with lots of duplicates. Then what you do is use crates to separate between genres or year, etc
Ok....I ain't gonna lie, this was hard to follow, but only because this is super duper entry-level info (which is needed,) not necessarily me but stuck it out til the end....cause I got your back like that. Keep doing it, bra
Thank you fam. I appreciate that. I more so recorded it cause it was still a hurdle that I had to get over in organizing my library. I wanted to document it!
@thekxngofmix Good play. If you're struggling with it, chances are the up and coming DJs are also. Reaching behind you to pull someone else up is a beast move. Keep that spirit.
I use this all the time. I make sure all the metadata information is tagged correctly on the music and it helps me find duplicate files. I use duplicate finder to eliminate duplicates.
Sharing my view on this as a vdj user and i can safely say u won't need to do all this work. Everything concerning library management is easily done right there since vdj work directly with the music files instead of using crates and playlists. So i can move, copy, delete and rename all tags, files and folders within my main music folder and in doing it this way i won't hv to worry about missing files cause the database will be updated while i'm working in the program. I can also download the album art per track if needed. The next powerful thing about vdj is the ability to find duplicates and from there i can do whatever i need to do with them. No need for another app to be opened or downloaded.

I need to check out VDJ! I hear it’s one of the best programs out there. If not the best.
You can use smart crates inside Serato after the music is run through Tag Editor.
Fax! That’s the biggest reason I did it!
Like I said before every dj does what's best for him. But good job. I am curious on how you would differentiate between clean and dirty?
That’s why I do 50-75 at a time. My library is so messy to the point where I have to skim thru them quickly after the ID3 tags are updated.
Also be careful with iTunes because it care create duplicate s. Go in the preferences and uncheck that feature.
Bet! Good call!
If I do all the songs from my library and put it in iTunes I won’t have enough memory to store it all there. So will it work just from my hard Drive
Yeh. You can just do it in whatever folder you have your tracks in. I just like to organize mine a little bit more than most ppl.
Firstttt
You’re the first “first” comment I’ve ever had! 😂 thanks fam
