Ibis paint's brushes dont take one video for one brush. infact, if you watch one video you actually get all the brushes in ibis paint! And it lasts for 18 hours, if i wers you, it wouldnt hurt to watch one video every 18 hours 😊

fun fact: the add brush part actually is pretty fair because a fifteen second add can let you get hundreds of fantastic useful brushes so it never bothers me
And you can use it for 18 hours so at least when I draw I can make multiple drawings using the paid brushes by only watching the add once

Even then there's ways to bypass watching the ad... i typically turn wifi off then click on add brush and it'll just give you an error message and let you use the brushes
I actually use ibisPaint and am satisfied with it’s S tier status. Definitely deserves it.
I thought it was weird that she didn’t mention the leaderboards and the social platform side of ibis. I feel like that’s a big plus considering it’s where many people can post their art and gain reasonable traction.

as a person who had a HORRIBLE art app which had like 0 features with being *PAID* for multiple years, when i tried ibis i was BLOWN AWAY. i never knew something that good could be free. ever since, i’ve pretty much *only* used ibis

Ibispaint x tips:
1. I don’t think anyone knows what the ‘set’ mode does in the magic wand/lasso.
2. Use filters to blur (I normally use frosted glass them grassian blur, also remember to magic wand the place you wanna blur or else it’ll look weird)
3. You get used to the ad, so don’t worry too much about it
4. If you wanna shade, make another layer then turn down the brightness on that new layer to about 30-45 then use one of the lighting filters.
Now your basically a pro
I'm pretty sure set changes what's selected every time you adjust it instead of adding/subtracting to what's already selected
Also using the select layer is a lot easier than using the lasso or magic wand, I usually magic wand first then fix it really quick in the select layer or just use the fill bucket in the select layer-
Hey I was wondering if you knew how to make it so if you hold your pin down it doesn’t select a color?

@@tomburt709Idk if this is late but you can turn that of in settings, when you open the app there will be a gear icon in the top right corner, click it and there you will see " quick eyedropper ", and there you can turn it on and off
Ibis Paint adds is really okay I think, it's usually a 30 seconds video and you can have every brushes for 18 hours. If you use 4G or wifi in a zone you can't connect to, it'll give the brushes even if you don't watch the add.

It’s in the same menu as the selection as well as the transform tool (the transform tool allows you to move/resize/distort)

being honest, ibis is way more laggy and clippy than medibang. To each their own, but medibang is better than ibispaint. maybe for others they'd argue the other way, but that's my tea

For awhile, I actually used IbisPaint X as my main drawing app, so I can help out with some of the features. First off, to export the little movie, you click the export button next to the play movie button, and then click movie. Then, you select how long you want it to be (6 seconds, up to 300 seconds) and then you have to watch through the actual movie so that way it can download. Second, the brushes actually don’t require you to watch an add for all of them. You only have to click on one of the brushes that require it, watch one ad, and it will unlock all brushes for 18 hours. The add on the top is annoying, but you get used to it, and it’s really the only thing I can’t solve for you. Hope this helped 🙃
fun fact about ibis paint: it has a premuim option that is no reason to get it- and the comic part you said it is good for tons of styles i personally have a anime esc style that ibis is perfect for
My question is how is she comfortable to use all the apps!? Im a ibisPaint user and when I try to use other drawing apps I feel extremely uncomfortable it takes a bunch of days for me to get use to other apps for drawing
Idk like I started trying to transition to clip studio because ginganinjaowo uses it but I couldn’t figure it out
I started with Autodesk but then switched to ibis, and it was really hard to get used to it, I look back at my old drawings on ibis in cringe to oblivion. She's a queen for being able to draw great with all of these different apps.
it's because you're used to the ibis piant and the other drawing apps don't have the same setup as ibis. because of this, you are set out of your comfort zone. plus, some apps are more confusing, as they're made for more higher level artists.

before i got ipad pro and procreate i decided to try digital art on my crappy school ipad. we had a small restricted selection of apps chosen by the city council and autodesk sketchbook was one of those. it was the best i could get at the time and even though i much prefer procreate now it was still a very good app and i’d def recommend it to anyone who wants a free drawing app :)

Hey, auto desk sketchbook user here. Actually, I don’t know if this is a recent update, but you can use a three finger swipe left and right to undo and redo, and a swipe up for the color wheel, and down for the brush library. I don’t think it requires a specific hand anymore. Great vid tho!
Sketchbook user here for many years and there are more features in the app the more u discover things in a long time(for me lol). The undo buttons r only up and below i think, so i can see left handers having difficulty with that. Another thing it's lacking are the amout of brushes than ibis, tho ibis in my tab is laggy thats why.

I think the fact that on ibis paint one ad allows you 18 hours of brushes isn't too bad.

as someone who uses sketches as my default drawing app, the app is pretty easy when you really get the hang of it, and when you figure out all the tools you can make some pretty badass stuff honestly.
I’ve been using ibisPaint and Procreate for my whole digital drawing experience and its so smooth! I was so happy to see ibisPaint at an S, above all others!

there’s a text tool in Sketchbook as well in case you still haven’t found it, it’s the third from the right next to the time lapse button (that is also a nice feature you can save in your ipad photos)
Ibis paint also has blending layers filters etc. From movie filters to graphics its amazing.With the adds there is a little X to get rid of it. If you press the i when looking at the window of the drawing you can name your artwork and you can also export the videos by using the 3 dots. I hope this helps

I use Ibis paint and I know you were confused on how to save the video so I will tell you how :so if you go back and look you will see a three dots on the top of your screen and if you click on them it will ask what you want to do on the art and there is a part were it says (save movie) you will click on that one and select a time and wait for a minute and you'll be done
I’ve been using ibis paint for a while now, and it’s absolutely wonderful, especially how there’s custom brushes!
For Ibis, you only have to watch 1 ad to use all of the brushes :3 Btw, this app is good for those people who don't have a pen. 😀

You can export the videos! It's in the three dots in the gallery, just press that and select save movie. You can even choose how long the timelapse is!
And the brushes with the ads? Watch 2 bafflingly short ads and you can use all the brushes for 18 hours
I primarily use IBIS Paint X, so I'm biased, it does deserve S Tier 100%

the ibispaint “temporary” brushes threw me off a lot when i first started, but you only have to watch one 30 second ad for all the brushes free for 18 hours, as opposed to the ad for every brush that i thought was necessary. it’s a great app because it has ads instead of skimping out on quality parts of the drawing components

i love the option to just keep watching ads. when i first did it a year or so ago i thought i could only use the ad cheat once, but was pleasently surprised

Heck, if you look at one add for "Oh just this brush", it will unlock all of them.
Also, when drawing (without opening the "layers" you can see on the top right a "image" button, it will first show u textures and stuff, but at the top of those, (I haven't done this in a long time so) it will give you three options, the one at the right (or the middle) will actually show you body drawing references.

I got into digital art after joining the gacha community, and like 90% of the community uses ibispaint so I've never really tried any other drawing apps. this was super interesting to watch!

Well I have used Tayasui Sketches and it's pretty good and stuff but I got the pro version shortly after cuz it was on sale for .99 rather than 5.99
actually in Skeches if you tap on the settings of the layer that they give you at the beginning you can duplicate as many times as you want, it's still not as great as being able to create new layers but at least you don't have to pay :v

I began my art career on tayasui sketches around 3 years ago without layers and recently upgraded to procreate and WOW. I'm progressing so much faster now that I can use layers. Imagine working without layers being your norm. For 3 years. That was me XD

I use a pen that has like a tactile end, it isn't the best, but it works
I don’t have one either or I get ones at dollar tree that don’t work on my iPhone
the one ad in ibispaint unlocks every brush and also removes the tacky looking ad on top and the playback can export in the three dots
I downloaded IbisPaint but my phone is too damn crappy for it so it lags often. It had a lot of features (though lots of adds too), but overall it was pretty good and so many options which I like. However, since it just wasn't that compatible with my phone, I had to delete it (I got impatient with the lagging). Autodesk is my go-to and I've been using it for years now. It's a wonderful app and rarely does it lag! It's neat, but honestly just try different apps and see which one you prefer. We all have our own prefernaces after all.

I use auto desk and this is so helpful knowing its my tablet or stylus not the program. I always get squiggly lines when I draw straight
I know it’s been 4 years since this video was made but sketchbook has the option to enable shortcuts and lets you choose which ones you want to enable and it has a text tool as well. It also similarly to ibis has a Timelapse feature too.

Ibis Paint X is an incredible program once you're used to it. For anyone interested in starting with it, I started off using traditional sketches and outlining them via the program but when you're used to it it's wonderful for anything! Look up tutorials and try different brushes!

That’s what I did at first and then I figured out how to use the layers and then I stopped that other method
Also, ibisPaint has a TH-cam channel giving you tutorials on the program, with some other cool things you can do with it. It helped me out a lot.
It's possible in Sketchbook to remap where the undo button is to any of the 4 corners, and it's also possible to hold 3 fingers and swipe to which ever direction undo is mapped.
I used to watch lavendertowne like since 3 or 2 years ago and I thought it was insane how even after not watching her for that many years I still remembered to use ibs paint I still use it on my gacha videos today
Medibang, Autodesk Sketchbook and Ibis Paint X are my default drawing apps. I'm so glad to see a review of them haha

@@lilbean4913 when your “free trial” has ended, you can watch an ad again. You don’t have to pay.

I've been using autodesk for years and it's definitely my favorite 👌 I also have an app that came with my drawing tablet called artflow studio that lets you have like 3 layers _then_ it paywalls them after that. You either have to watch an ad or pay however mich per month if you want more layers or brushes. Most of the brushes I've used in it are also super pixely for some reason; like you can zoom in super close and erase pixel-by-pixel if you make the eraser small enough (which is probably pretty useful for some people, I just found it kinda weird lol)
I remember this video being released and me realizing they updated sketchbook (which I tried a while before this and before they added most features aka I used the beta ver) and downloaded to start using it and see how it works. I've been using kt loyaly evwr aince XD

Also, there are settings for you to change which corner you tap for the undo. Same for most other mechanics plus sensitivity settings.

When you click on the orange pop up and watch an add it make all the brushes free for 8 hours which is pretty neat

You can export your artwork by pressing the share icon and picking an option on how you want to export it, one thing i like about ibis paint x is that you can use all the locked brushes for a long amount of time by watching a single ad.
