Aw, that panda is so cute! You did a very good job on him. I'm glad you're sharing him, even though you made him a while back. That's so amazing, you're really good at paper mache. I'm in the process of making two paper mache squirrels, but I ran out of things I needed to finish the little guys. Right now I only have an wire armature, and I realized I didn't have any tin foil! When I'm finished, I'll definitely share with you! :)

You can use any type of paper you happen to have, or crumpled foil for the inside. For paper strips and paste you can use pages from old telephone books.

How can we use the flour before drywall compound or after drywall compound
For my panda I used the flour and water paste to stick the paper strips together, and let it dry. Then I used a thin layer of drywall joint compound over the panda to use for the very fine details and to smooth it off.

I was on the website and I wasn't able to find a video of the hippo head on the wall, I was wondering if there was a video tutorial?
kaitlyn wade The hippo isn't really made with paper mache - it was an experiment in making "sort of paper mache" items in silicone molds. I have a post on my site showing how I mixed plaster and paper to make an "instant paper mache" for the hippo, which was was pressed into a silicone mold that I made in a previous post. Hello, Anu. If your armature is quite firm, three or four layers of paper mache should be plenty. It will dry quite hard, and you just need a firm surface for painting.

How many days you kept for drying?
If you keep it in front of a fan it should dry within three or four days. Maybe sooner, but give it plenty of time.
How do you make the paper mache paste?
+Wiktoria Rybak I make my paste by adding water to all-purpose flour. Add as much as you need to get the paste as thin or thick as you want.
what if I dont have paper mache clay ,..... this looks way too hard for me yet you said kids could make it
You can use paper strips and paste. It works the same, but slightly slower.

***** It depends on how fast you work and how long it takes to dry. Give it three or four days, so you don't have to rush.

ZeRo_GaMeR It depends on the temperature, and how humid it is, and how many layers of paper you use. It's wet paper, and paper hangs on to water, so give it at least 2 or three days to dry all the way through.
