Joni, Thank you for sharing this technique! I bought these large foam half-spheres and wanted to use them to make a hollow paper mache form; now I know I can cover them in plastic, put paper mache on top, then remove and reuse them. Thank you for sharing your experiments with us!

@@UltimatePaperMache Hey! I'm ok, thanks for asking.
Still papermache'ing my neo baroque studio, working on a new insta page with historical handpainted pet portraits and, eventually, posting videos here, on my channel :)

Love this. I’ve made your original lop eared bunny and now this one is being added to my very long list of “to do” projects. 😊

Someone just posted a paper mache sculpture of a tree frog on my site, and it includes a branch with leaves. You might enjoy it, because you make branches, too. You can see it here: www.ultimatepapermache.com/the-red-eyed-tree-frog

I got a little squeamish when you stabbed him in the head. I think that you are a great engineer. I was wondering if you ever glued together layers of Styrofoam, sculpted it and then put they paper Mache on????? You would not have to dig the clay out and it would be strong and light. None the less, you done a nice job on both the video and the rabbit. I find it so neat how you are able to make it look so life like. It is always good to see you and I look forward to the next video.

I was a bit squeamish myself, just before I stabbed him. But the eyeball was in the wrong place, so I had to do it. The only thing I've made with foam is the rock I put under the blue-footed boobies. I don't think I'd be able to sculpt a rabbit in foam, because my brain doesn't work that way - I need to work with clay, which is very forgiving. But it is a great way of making a sculpture, if you don't think you'd cut off an ear or nose by mistake, the way I probably would. BTW, we just got another 6 inches of snow. Is it still snowing at your house, too?

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of using the foam for the general shape and then detailing it with the paper Mache and clay. No snow here yet today. I think it might just pass a little south south of us. I just turned 62 and winter is not as much fun as it used to be.
