Such a kickass idea for drawing. You should log all your favorite playthroughs like this and have them books published. Plenty of people would buy them for the art work alone the continuity throughout the book is just a big bonus. Good work
Yeah right? Imagine getting stuck in a game, so instead of googling, you blow the dust off the 600 page illustrated guide and start flipping through it's pages, trying to interpret the lore on how the old chronicler solved the issue.
I'm a 70 yr. old artist, mostly wildlife & fantasy, and you've SO impressed me! I'm inspired to get to work on anything after watching this peek into your books- don't worry what anybody else says "should" be about anything to do with your amazing creative voice, just follow that inner compass. When you mentioned personalizing the covers, I thought "Yeah, the plain black cover just looks like homework, the others look fun and beautiful". I'm so glad this popped up, will look at more of your vids :)
Forgive me if i overstep but when you said you dont enjoy watching your self draw.. Your artwork is amazing! truly. We are all way more critical of our selfs then others would be, im sure we would all love your drawing videos. Happy new year!
Ya I know what you mean, always trying to figure it all out. Happy new year!, sorry for the late reply I got really sick recently so Ive been away from my computer.
HOLY cow your illustration and artistic writing is absolutely jaw dropping! I thought I was looking at a book from the 1600's made by monks who devote all their time to painting. YOur work is incredible! Please keep posting and start a kickstarter!!
You are probably the most technically skilled artist I've watched on youtube- and I've watched ALOT. It seems to be a natural talent? What is your practice? How did you get perspective so well? I love the "doodles" of forms like the noodles and circles too.
Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks are the prized possessions of many libraries. You might consider him as your role model. I expect that libraries will be scrounging for your sketch pads in the future. Such amazing talent.
Thanks to everyone who left a nice comment on this ole video. if anyone reads this, I am going to do a flip through of the elden ring journal, it will be a video for every major section of the game. I have to polish up each section since some of it was left only halfway sketches. Limgrave alone is like 100 pages. so I will post when ready. Also like the idea of making books for other games in the future. I'm not a full time youtuber so I'm slow at getting videos out. my apologies in advanced.
You’ve got SERIOUS skill! This tour of sketchbooks has to be my favorite of all time. I see studies, like ACTUAL studies, observations, original art in style AND color, exploration, etc! I enjoyed this video so much! It’s set apart from other popular styles. Your voice is soothing and casual as well! I hope you do more of these! I would definitely watch a whole video of you just flipping through your books and speaking about each. Don’t count yourself out, you’ve got something here! ❤
These are some of the most beautiful sketchbooks I've ever seen, especially that Elden Ring one. It's funny because I'm keeping a journal/sketchbook for my progress in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, treating it as though I am really a traveler going through Hyrule, documenting my journey. It's a really creative way of immersing yourself into a game and story. Instant new subscriber here. I look forward to watching your other videos! ❤
"I never wanted to share this with anyone cause it was kind of a dumb thing" Bro this is amoung the most amazing things I've seen ever. It's so cool to see all this amazing artwork together. I'm so jealous of your drawing talent!
This was NOT a dumb thing. This was BRILLIANT! Playing the game and then documenting your progress gave you an avenue to showcase your amazing art skills. Well done!
Something about your art is so incredibly soothing. The foxes with the tree/bush branches as background makes me feel like I am in a forest for some reason. And the stuff at 8:46 is just unreal. Your art brought me a lot of joy today :) As for your comments about not liking seeing yourself draw, I can assure you that you're probably the only one who sees it. I know when I look at other people's timelapses or speedpaints that I mostly pay attention to their process. I can assure you that people who are interested in your work would be happy to see how it's made. In fact, I wonder that about a lot of artists' work and I started watching many because they explain their process in video So please don't be too critical of yourself! You might find a lot of growth there Good luck with your future art!
This is the best sketchbook (set) i have ever seen in my life. What a gift you have. I am not an artist but yet so jelly. Everything you do is cool and interesting.
You really do have some insane skill when it comes to drawing! I want to be able to push myself to the limit when it comes to creativity. I really feel like I’ve hit a wall with the work that I’ve been doing. Touring your sketch books really is encouraging and a fire starter to what it seems like I’m missing.
9:02 Jesus Christ so many of these are absolutely incredible! 😍❤️ they’re so exact too, I can’t keep anything straight I always end up floating off but you are so precise! ❤
you are an amazing artist. I'd love to watch you draw or paint - watching artists' creative process intrigues me. It's so fascinating! I also love how you were more focused on creating - putting your ideas and thoughts onto paper, and less focused on the perfection of the artwork. I often feel the desire for perfection stifles the creative process which can often lead to people losing their joy in creating. Don't ever your doubts diminish your creativity! Enjoyed your Sketchbook tour very much!!!
Oh my God- You're art is incredible!! Recently, I've been feeling disconnected from my art and it felt like a chore every time, but seeing your art reminded me of why I chose to be an artist in the first place. Creativity and self. Thank you for sharing!!!
amazing work. i could really see your drawings as an addition to a collector's edition of a game or in graphic novels. really lovely to look at. even the rough sketches. you are really talented!
Your drawings are beautiful! I am an artist as well and I know for a fact that the artist is much more critical than the viewer. Keep drawing and posting because your art is amazing and so detailed. PS Don't worry about the paper, I also use crappy paper because I feel more free to draw what I want without being scared I'm going to ruin a piece of expensive paper.
Unbelievably beautiful artwork! The most wonderful journal art I have ever seen. I agree with the other commenters that you should have these published. Thank you so much for sharing these. I feel privileged having viewed them.
Your sketchbooks are fantastic! I really enjoyed watching this video. Truthfully you’ve inspired me to be more care free in my sketchbooks and stop worrying. You deserve to give yourself more credit!
This is what I want to Do with Novells. Imagining Stories has always been a favorite pastime of mine and I have recently been collecting Journals. This gives me Motivation to fill those blank pages with whatever my mind wanders to. Thank You for showing a glimpse of your Passion.
My friend committed suicide a few months ago, recently I was given his sketchbook, it’s been 3 months, and I still catch myself flipping through it, some nights I admire it, others I cry into it. But it’s my favorite thing to do and show off. I love him so much and miss him, his sketchbook holds a piece of him and his personality. He was my life, and he was such a great dude. Please, if you’re just a friend, or a partner, or a mother or son or something, keep the notebooks, keep their sketches, keep their doodles, their texts, something. You will never know if it’s the last thing you see or hear or have of them.
I was randomly suggested this video and thought "why not?"... Wow! I was not expecting this level of talent. It has given me a while different view on how to use sketch books! I am also precious of good paper because of its expense but your journals are inspirational! It's obvious that your sketching brings you joy, keep finding your solace in it.
I can't believe how good your stuff is. You competently (for lack of a better word) illustrate in 5+ styles like a professional concept artist. What is your story/background? My partner has her degree in classical painting and has gotten into sketchbooking lately due to her disability so we've both become very interested in people's sketchbook portfolios. I think yours is easily the best I've ever seen.
You are such a great artist, my brother used to be able to draw like that and he just gave it up one day. My son can draw really well but wants to stop also. I would give anything to be able to draw like that! Keep it up, don’t stop, please!
I'm sorry to hear that,Not one but two of your closest relatives giving up on their creativity, I don't know their reasons but if they don't feel like it then that's ok, creativity and art cease to exist if it feels enforced,i wish I could draw too, actually I'm thinking of trying drawing too some time actually and as a person whose best friend draws a lot and quite well It would be heartbreaking for me if she stopped it, you could try and talk to them with their issues if they're ok with it and perhaps re motivate them to express their creativity once more, but in the end it's what makes you and them happy, that's all take care and i wish you, your brother and your son the best nonetheless! ❤️
You inspire me to create. For a long time a have felt pained to draw as I am stumbling over what to draw. Usually leaving me with a half finished sketch or painting. But I want you to know that your work has inspired me to be creative again. That I should bring my tools with me when I go study abroad. So I just want to thank you for posting your journey into your passion. From one artist to another, thank you for the reminder that we all begin somewhere.
Please never forget, what the human mind and the human hand can render is 1000% better and more pleasing than what any AI, current or future, can create. This is a fantastic example of just that. Beautiful work brother!
Your art is so amazing! Please make a social media or something I can follow it! The amount of workand skill you put into this is mind-boggling. I need to see more!!
I know you are critical of yourself as an artist but this is truly next level skill. But feel like your enjoyment will always surpass the worry for imperfection as it should. It's so pretty and inspiring to watch this
you'd be surprised how many people like 'boring'. sometimes you just want something easy and calming on the side. Your work is amazing and I'd very much be up for watching your sketch book journeys. Also, I love your Elder Ring book idea - if I had any form of talent I'd love to do something like that.
I've never felt so completely inadequate, yet simultaneously inspired as an artist lol Could honestly cry right now from how beautiful everything in yo sketchbooks is, but also from da understanding I've gained in watching this video. I don't think I've seen something so profoundly imaginative, to da point it's making me re think how I view my art as a whole. Like top to bottom what have I been doing all these years haha. Just wow. Please keep it up my g. Wonderful way to start my day and get into art mode. Thank you so much for sharing wit us.
I am struck with the parallels of your sketchbook and Leonardo DaVinci's sketchbooks. From anatomy to grotesques, to machinery, to fantasy. This is truly amazing and should be preserved and displayed for the public. Very nice work.
I am astonished at the absolute beauty of your artwork. I feel speechless. Please never stop even is you never want to share them with anyone, though I hope you will. God has given you a wonderful gift. Amazing.
"I never wanted to share it with anyone because it was kind of a dumb thing ..." No dude! NO. I'm writing this at the 03:04 mark of my first time watching this. This is already amazing.
Watching this video makes me want to try again with my channel. Thank you so much for sparking an old flame I thought was gone. I want to draw again! Keep going!
I just stumbled on your channel yesterday. I must say you are so inspiring! I loved seeing the variety of your sketchbooks and your ideas. Your artwork is wonderful, and I enjoyed how you talked about your art. Just inspiring. Also your sketchbooks are such a cool playground, makes me want to try and art journal one of my games. I hope to see more of your videos/content. Also, Happy New Year !
Your video is incredibly comfy. Seeing you show your art and talk about it with such passion and genuine love reminded me of my childhood when I made art just for the sake of it, imagining my own characters and adventures... happy times. Like many others, I’d love to see a tour of your Elden Ring sketchbook, you really nailed the medieval illumination style. Picked up my sketchbook again thanks to you.
this has been an AMAZING video of all the artwork. i find it hard to pick a favourite! in fact, i've gained inspiration and courage to draw out my favourite games as I play too. it'll be interesting to try drawing the monsters and characters in the game's style itself, and then various other styles as a fun comparison. thank you very much!!
Amazing artwork and a wonderful mind. Love looking at sketches and doodles that the artist never imagines anyone will see, its like a small secret window into the artistic mind. Thanks for showing and sharing your inner thoughts and ideas..
I don't know exactly why but I like the way you articulate your thoughts, they're so raw and genuine, so it feels really nice to listen to. There's no pressure to perfect what you're trying to say, you just say it with soft ramblings sometimes. It's like I'm just sitting with a friend by a campfire and he's just giving me a little story for each of his artworks.
I'm not sure why I'm in tears but I'm so immersed. All i see is beauty, so much soul. You're amazing. I don't know what else to say. Tears just started coming out.
wonderful art. Perfect kickstarter project. Please realize a fantasy sketch/artwork book. You literally took me in another dimension. Many ideas seem you "get lost" in the flow and opened an inner door to magnificent ideas. That's what I lost when I had to gave up my artist career some year ago. Please go on and never stop!
Wow. I am so in awe of what you have done in your sketchbooks! You are such an amazing artist! I could sit and look at your drawings for hours! Thank you so very much for sharing them ! ❤
Very well done! tell us about your tools & techniques. watercolor? film a time lapse of your paintings while you sketch and paint them-- both studies and the main compositions.
I just stumbled upon your channel and I must say, seeing your artwork nearly brought me to tears. I know that sounds super dramatic but idk man, it just really affected me somehow. There is so much energy in your creation, so much genuine love for what you do. It is really inspiring.
First time seeing your work. I've seen a lot in my 72 years and I just have to say, you are bo lunayic, you are a master. Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
You are an amazing artist! I used to draw all the time, but I let life pull me away from my passion. Seeing your books inspires me to want to get back to it.
It sort of reminds me of a more illustrated version of the guy who held a complete journal for his Skyrim playthrough, and i think it's amazing :D Shows how much influence a Game can have on people when they're good, how much passion and emotion we put into them. Your Sketchbook is absolutely amazing, not just the Art but the efforts you put into making it look like a more medieval-like journal with the ornate framing and gothic writing to match the aesthetics of the Game
@@artyzartifacts9799 Well worth the result though, the sketchbook looks absolutely fantastic. I've always wanted to do something similar for a TRPG Campaign, unfortunately they've always ended rather abruptly and i'm glad i never started. But this inspires me to start one for my character in the Witcher RPG setting :D
Wow!.......just WOW! The play-through book is on a par with an illuminated manuscript. Seriously, if you ever publish that commercially, I think it would sky-rocket. I would certainly buy a copy. Please can you show us more? 🙏 🙏 🙏. @07:47. P.S. that little cat looking over the edge of the page is so full of character. The work of Louis Wain comes to mind.
this is super awesome! I've been wanting to put more words to the world that's coming together as I relearn how to draw. and putting together sort of a lore archive like the first two books you showed! the idea works, i can't wait! thank for sharing
That shark monster at 18:50 made me imagine the makings of a "sharknado-esque" thriller: Sharkepede. Burrows through the undergowth, climbs trees & of course, swims. Super sick sketchbooks man I'm in awe. I've been a lazy artist most of my life, I wish I had even an ounce of that dedication! The wolf-wyrm compositon and that acorn skele cage at 7:07 has gotta make that my favorite spread though.
Dude what the heck!? Your drawings and ridiculously great! Man you're so good & thank you so much for sharing & don't be reluctant to show your work because it needs to be seen!
Such a kickass idea for drawing. You should log all your favorite playthroughs like this and have them books published. Plenty of people would buy them for the art work alone the continuity throughout the book is just a big bonus. Good work
Thanks! elden ring has such crazy art and lore, its hard not to get sucked into it on that level.
I can just imagine, if I was in a D&D group with him and received a book like that at the end as a souvenir…. I would loose my shit!
I would definitely buy this book it’s so fucking cool
Yeah right? Imagine getting stuck in a game, so instead of googling, you blow the dust off the 600 page illustrated guide and start flipping through it's pages, trying to interpret the lore on how the old chronicler solved the issue.
@@pixelzebra8440 Absolutely. I would buy them for myself and as gifts to others.
You need to get this all published, people would buy copies of your books ......Absolutely WOW ❤
I was literally about to comment : Where can I cop one of these fam? I wanna start my magical tome/ adventure guidebook collection.
I would buy the heck out of that
I agree. I would love to own a copy of his sketchbook. Very inspiring
I'm a 70 yr. old artist, mostly wildlife & fantasy, and you've SO impressed me! I'm inspired to get to work on anything after watching this peek into your books- don't worry what anybody else says "should" be about anything to do with your amazing creative voice, just follow that inner compass. You did a full on illustrated book 😮 It’s amazing and so much patience! It looks like it belongs in a bookstore!
Seriously i was in complete awe...
Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks are the prized possessions of many libraries. You might consider him as your role model. I expect that libraries will be scrounging for your sketch pads in the future. Such amazing talent.

Lunatic or not, your artwork is gorgeous!!! You're very talented. Never ever give it up.
So cool! especially the old medieval style you drew I would like to draw like that at some point :-)
I'm basically a monk that plays videogames from time to time, lol
Your drawings are not boring, they are very interesting and creative. You have created another world, the next " Game of Thrones".
Also, Happy New Year !
awesome! welcome
Picked up my sketchbook again thanks to you.
that's awesome!
this has been an AMAZING video of all the artwork. i find it hard to pick a favourite! in fact, i've gained inspiration and courage to draw out my favourite games as I play too. it'll be interesting to try drawing the monsters and characters in the game's style itself, and then various other styles as a fun comparison. thank you very much!!
Amazing artwork and a wonderful mind. Love looking at sketches and doodles that the artist never imagines anyone will see, its like a small secret window into the artistic mind. Thanks for showing and sharing your inner thoughts and ideas..
It is amazing to see a real artist talking about his sketchbooks while myself is unable to fill up one. Good job!
Truly inspiring hearing your thoughts and seeing your work, made me wanna pick up my pencil! Thanks for sharing!
This is really fkn amazing. Seriously. I could only dream of drawing and painting so well. You are talented and skilled. Keep it up.
Such stunning collection of art, amazing work
Amazing, amazing work. Every single one of them.
And yes, we all would love to see that!!!
I'm not sure why I'm in tears but I'm so immersed. All i see is beauty, so much soul. You're amazing. I don't know what else to say. Tears just started coming out.
Some people are wired to feel deeply, it is a gift. if you ask me.
wonderful art.
I have made it my life goal to make the ideal fantasy art book, maybe some day friend
Wow. I am so in awe of what you have done in your sketchbooks! You are such an amazing artist! I could sit and look at your drawings for hours! Thank you so very much for sharing them ! ❤
You are so incredibly talented, beautiful, exciting work!
Looking at your sketchbook tour totally inspiring. Look like so much fun.
sweet! fills me with creative energy to hear that!
Your art is amazing and you are super talented. I'm inspired to work more on my own artwork. Thank you for sharing.
That is so beautiful! Thank You for sharing.
WOW! You are so talented. One of the best artists I have ever seen. You can do so many different styles so well while being humble. You are AMAZING!!
It sort of reminds me of a more illustrated version of the guy who held a complete journal for his Skyrim playthrough, and i think it's amazing :D
Shows how much influence a Game can have on people when they're good, how much passion and emotion we put into them.
Your Sketchbook is absolutely amazing, not just the Art but the efforts you put into making it look like a more medieval-like journal with the ornate framing and gothic writing to match the aesthetics of the Game
Thanks!, I dug my own grave with all the illumination decorations, very time consuming
A pleasure watching this video. So inspiring. I’m going to draw in my sketchbook….😊
Wow your artwork is amazing, thank-you so much for sharing it with us.
What a trip! you are such a talent Sir. Your drawings are exceptional - watching from South Africa.
Just wow the books are gorgeous! I mostly create single pieces but I do have books that are whole projects. Keep on keeping on xx
this is super awesome! I've been wanting to put more words to the world that's coming together as I relearn how to draw. and putting together sort of a lore archive like the first two books you showed! the idea works, i can't wait! thank for sharing
This makes me want to pick up my pencils and begin learning once again. This is straight up beautiful stuff. Thank you very much for sharing!
3:00 I think the word you were looking for was awesome.
That little mouse guy at 7:04 is great.
Your work is fantastic.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing!
